If you only ever see one opera in your entire life, this is the one to go see. It is funny almost beyond words - IMO, the best of all operatic comedies. In the US, most opera houses have a chyron above stage where the libretto (the vocal parts of the opera) is translated to English. If you go see this one, you will more than likely see a few gentlemen sporting Bugs Bunny ties, in homage to the Warner Brothers cartoon "Bugs Bunny of Seville." A lot of us learned our love for opera and classical music as little kids watching Bugs Bunny and other Saturday morning cartoons, though we certainly didn't know it at the time.
