Hinduism was present in south east asia mpre than 1000 years before cholas went to Srivijaya, Cholas married the shivite Camobidan princess and succeeded in stopping them from helping srivijaya, Vishnavite Srivijaya, blocked the malacca straights with boats tied with chains and Cholas surprised them by crossing the tougher pass near java and encircling their navy, and they used flaming boats to attack the srivijaya Navay, this shows Navy is not just ships its strategy.
