This seems to be a rather strange mix of bedfellows on one side you have a company formerly owned by the British government & a Lebanese company owned by the very wealthy man named Yared who has had a rather chequered past. This will no doubt please the more well off 20% of the population whilst doing nothing to help the 80% who live in grinding poverty. One wonders if the interviewer is also an employee of Mabani because he does not ask one question of any substance. No doubt the mall will be full of the same South African shops that one finds in other malls through out Accra.

@PurelyAfrican So you mean to tell me that what the initial post stated isn't true that the majority of Ghanaians are poor? In fact, I'm sure it is higher than 80%. Don't be emotional. Apply Reasoning to what he said even if you think he is your enemy.... these are pure facts that can be backed up by statistics. I know you are a very smart individual because I have read your other comments and I know that you get it. After you finish thinking through what the initial post stated you will realize that it was a very fair critique.
Most of the times when foreign companies come to Africa with proposals that are designed to stifle local businesses and further enrich these companies, too many of us lack the ability to employ basic thinking in figuring out what is actually being proposed and what are the actual effects of these projects long term. We just get hypnotized by the flowery picture painted to us because many of our people are easily impressed and luck critical thinking. For example, look at how the interviewer was so blown away by the project to the extent that he couldn't even ask well thought out questions directed towards safeguarding Ghana's interests.

What Happened to this project ? Works stalled a long time ago , is it because of politics?
