I still say that making Bianca gay was the most brilliant choice AMC ever made, and that it was Bianca made all the different. The moral compass of AMC, was the lesbian.
Myrtle is just amazing....you could always count on her to uplift anyone in a moment of crisis, especially Erica or Bianca. She's so wise and understanding....she also was spot on here.
Agnes was ahead of her time I'm so glad that they made Bianca gay and how she handled the challenges of being gay when no one was talking about it at the time. it virtually taboo back then. Eden did an amazing job I applaud her!!
This is not the first time they used a character for this topic. Back in 83 they had a woman named Lynne Lavey who Ellen's daughter Devon befriended. Then in 1996 it was Michael Delaney Laurel Bannings brother who was married to Trevor and was accidentally shot to death by Kevin brother Justin. Bianca is the first full time character.
I love Myrtle! If Mona was still alive, I think she would have reacted the same way and accepted Bianca for who she was and would probably go after Erica and tell her off!

Like she said she had seen things twice. Myrtlel also grew up in the fashions industry and lived a third of her life in Europe

I agree. Mona ADORED Bianca; and she and Myrtle would have been on the same page. Both would have blasted Erica. :)
As well they should have. Once again, Erica makes things all about herself. She was so selfish here.
God, I miss Myrtle...
What’s ironic is that Erica works in a profession in which many, many people are gay.
But she is worried about how her being out in the open will affect her life. It is not about Erica at all.
