My spouse has aml. My spouse went for a first round of chemo and they stopped it because he has a slight fever. It is normal for people with AML to get chills and fever and normal for their blood counts to go down. This is why they require constant blood and platelet transfusions. Now we have to wait one week to see if he has no more fever and they can start with the 2nd round. b.t.w. AML also gives one bone pain and so does the chemo :(
