The way you are filling your tank is a direct cross-connection to the public water system. There should be a backflow device on that hydrant/meter manifold, or you could use an air gap on your fill line. Most water systems I know of would tear up your hydrant use permit on the spot.
@@Cleanpowerwash thank you for the quick reply, I will try them. The city said the output thread is MIP and I haven’t found a hose with the female counterpart to match. I’m worried the city gave me the wrong info. Does MIP sound right for meter output?
@@frankpirrone6032 yes. You can get 2" camlocks to make it easier. But most 2" non crushable hose like in this picture will have a male and female end that would work perfectly for it.

Watch the video again. This is PROVIDED by the city. It has a built in backflow preventer.
