Les hasn't done any "Bigfoot" shows in over 3 years. It was a one off series that he did. And I think he did it very objectively and professionally. He never said or did anything that wasn't objective and honest. Les Stroud is an amazing dude. I would love to have the opportunity to do what he does.

I not saying Bigfoot is real, but, very few a handful of people truly understand how elusive mountain lions are, 99.99999% of people have no clue and the ones that think they do are not even close to truly grasping how elusive mtn lions REALLY are, and those like myself grew up in Pac nor west rural mtn areas and spent ALL our time outdoors either fishing or in the woods hunting etc, we only see a few glimpses of c ougars decades in mtn forests and only have sightings a few times at most (unless you hunted bear and cougar with dogs otherwise all other hunters deer elk turkey etc we don't but if you do use dogs like that and are a pro it still takes days to weeks at the least, before tree a cougar and see it, these pro cougar hunters with pro cougar hunting hounds are re only ones who get to see them often) so check this out= wen I was kid I spent every second of every day that I wasn't I school, was spent outdoors in woods and hunting fishing etc, and I only had 3 cougar sightings in 20 yrs, and2 of the 3 were brief glimpse of them in headlights of parents car at night driving 45 mph in windey court roadsin mtns near our homme and I spent ALL my time in foot or horseback in the woods near home, and one day some dumb lady with walk man in her ears was jogging the horsetrail that ran near our home, stupid jogger earphone wearing lady was killed by cougar right near our property! So, the state game wardens and co sherrifs and dfs etc had circus going on once her body was discovered after she'd been reported missing Person and was dead eaten and snacked on for two weeks before her remains were found (what was left I should say, cougar had been snacking on it for days and age the meaty and soft parts off her whole body) so they had bunch of professional cougar hunting teams of 1 2 or 3 men and pack of dogs each "team", and they ended up killing like 18 c ougars in our area when you're talking about a small area where all cougar were taken close enough to our property that each team was able to reach the cougar within a single day on foot so like 4 5 maybe six or 7 hr walk away before turning around to make it back to start point by dark. So it was a TON of cougars in a small radius away from my property so in was surrounded by tons of them every day for all those years in those woods, and only had few sightings and 2 of those were in car at night . So, I am stunned at knowing how elusive man lions are that they are so overpopulated I so many regions and they are alkost NEVER seen almost NEVER and there is TONS and tins and TONS of them, so, if those damn cats can be THAT elusive, then it would be VERY delusional and foolish of me to not admit there is at least a chance that species like Bigfoot could exist, being there would be sooooooo few of them and they would be obviously better and smarter at being elusive then a damn cat, and those cougars are magical wizards at being unseen and elusive even while liing or hunting for their food I areas where alot of people live or frequent, combine the fad they'd be even more elusive then cougars but would most likely only be handful of them around if existed, then be very few, combined with fact I knw, unlike most people, I have a understanding of just what an insanely massive amount of wilderness forests we have in Pac nor west millions of square miles of zero human aftual wilderness thick forested mtns and even rain forests of the Pac nor west from nor cal through oregkn Washington and Canadian coastal regions stretching east throu Idaho et etc etc etc all ghroighthe Pac nor west alone itnisna mindblowing massivè amount of total wilderness forested mtns with no human presence whatsoever. I love Les, it’s been over two decades and I’ll still rewatch survivorman episodes. I mean surviving alone in open ocean in a life raft out of any radio contact with a “rescue boat”? I love the JRE and am certainly disappointed with his perspective that he bases on going out to areas that are well traveled, popular for hikers and "researchers". I'd like to see him give this a big chance. A week out in the deep, deep forests of WA or western Canada. Even my home state in the north east has deep, uninhabited forests that go on for miles and miles before reaching Canadian forests that go on for miles and miles and miles. Go deep and stay for week. Christopher Cruz les didn’t fake any footage, the whole concept of the show was to smell out the bullshit of potential hoaxers. He remained skeptical the whole time. If you watch the episodes you will know what I mean. He shows footage and breaks down all the skeptical angels, and the series actually ends with him proving certain people to not be honest

@@zaynes5094 I didnt have a strange interaction when I was homeless in the California mountains, and I was apparently living in bigfoot territory for 3 and a half years. But ive had very odd encounters with a group of animals trying to chase me off when I was a porter in Alaska. At first I was woken up by shaking of trees in the distance, at which point I didnt really consider anything other then a pack of wolves which in that area they probably werent feeding well so I just grabbed everything and my gun, then went and turned on my snow mobile which was luckily not covered in snow. But my only problem with the whole situation, was there was a constant tree shaking and if they were wolves then I would of heard distinctive characteristics of a pack of wolves. I dont think it was bigfoot, and I dont believe in bigfoot. However I understand when people say they have weird encounters in the wilderness they cant explain, because that was one of the very few times where I was scared shitless in a situation where I couldnt really piece together what was going on so I just left.

Survivorman was the realest shit I ever watched. Nothing compares. Bear Grylls tried to fake it but it just can’t be faked. When Les is out there, and you see him going through what he’s going through, it FEELS real because it is real. If you get into his life beyond just the show, you learn how much of a toll it took on Les. He puts himself through essentially near-death experiences over and over, and it would take the better part of a year just for him to recover. After you go through that, you can’t replicate it. That’s why the show is so captivating.
Also why he quit doing the show. The episodes just took so much out of him. Like anything, in the beginning, you can push hard, but eventually given the choice, one chooses to move onto something else. How may weeks of our lives would we want to go through drinking sketchy water, and eating half a dead squirrel...It was good show. We we had more actual 'real' shows, not the fake crap, we have now. The insane thing is he's just a normal dude too. When he's on JRE, Joe is talking to a pretty ordinary guy. Obviously the survival is extraordinary though. He just has the skill to survive and is able to navigate the trauma afterwards. If that's true I'm glad he stopped doing it, if it's best for him. He has given us an amazing gift.

Being a survival expert doesn't mean you should be trusted when you make unfalsifiable claims about the existence of an undocumented species without evidence. Just because someone is an expert in one thing doesn't make them an expert in everything. This is why people like Jordan Peterson, though very well-versed in psychology, shouldn't be looked at as experts of philosophy or politics. These fields of study do have some crossover, but being an expert in philosophy or political science requires the same amount of time and academic dedication as being an expert in psychology. The same can be said for Les Stroud, he is a survival expert, but he isn't an anthropologist, archaeologist, or primatologist who has been studying and has evidence of an undocumented species.

There is no reason to believe Les Stroud saw bigfoot over anyone else who goes hiking in rural areas regularly. Him being a survival expert doesn't really mean anything.

I not saying Bigfoot is real, but, very few a handful of people truly understand how elusive mountain lions are, 99.99999% of people have no clue and the ones that think they do are not even close to truly grasping how elusive mtn lions REALLY are, and those like myself grew up in Pac nor west rural mtn areas and spent ALL our time outdoors either fishing or in the woods hunting etc, we only see a few glimpses of c ougars decades in mtn forests and only have sightings a few times at most (unless you hunted bear and cougar with dogs otherwise all other hunters deer elk turkey etc we don't but if you do use dogs like that and are a pro it still takes days to weeks at the least, before tree a cougar and see it, these pro cougar hunters with pro cougar hunting hounds are re only ones who get to see them often) so check this out= wen I was kid I spent every second of every day that I wasn't I school, was spent outdoors in woods and hunting fishing etc, and I only had 3 cougar sightings in 20 yrs, and2 of the 3 were brief glimpse of them in headlights of parents car at night driving 45 mph in windey court roadsin mtns near our homme and I spent ALL my time in foot or horseback in the woods near home, and one day some dumb lady with walk man in her ears was jogging the horsetrail that ran near our home, stupid jogger earphone wearing lady was killed by cougar right near our property! So, the state game wardens and co sherrifs and dfs etc had circus going on once her body was discovered after she'd been reported missing Person and was dead eaten and snacked on for two weeks before her remains were found (what was left I should say, cougar had been snacking on it for days and age the meaty and soft parts off her whole body) so they had bunch of professional cougar hunting teams of 1 2 or 3 men and pack of dogs each "team", and they ended up killing like 18 c ougars in our area when you're talking about a small area where all cougar were taken close enough to our property that each team was able to reach the cougar within a single day on foot so like 4 5 maybe six or 7 hr walk away before turning around to make it back to start point by dark. So it was a TON of cougars in a small radius away from my property so in was surrounded by tons of them every day for all those years in those woods, and only had few sightings and 2 of those were in car at night . So, I am stunned at knowing how elusive man lions are that they are so overpopulated I so many regions and they are alkost NEVER seen almost NEVER and there is TONS and tins and TONS of them, so, if those damn cats can be THAT elusive, then it would be VERY delusional and foolish of me to not admit there is at least a chance that species like Bigfoot could exist, being there would be sooooooo few of them and they would be obviously better and smarter at being elusive then a damn cat, and those cougars are magical wizards at being unseen and elusive even while liing or hunting for their food I areas where alot of people live or frequent, combine the fad they'd be even more elusive then cougars but would most likely only be handful of them around if existed, then be very few, combined with fact I knw, unlike most people, I have a understanding of just what an insanely massive amount of wilderness forests we have in Pac nor west millions of square miles of zero human aftual wilderness thick forested mtns and even rain forests of the Pac nor west from nor cal through oregkn Washington and Canadian coastal regions stretching east throu Idaho et etc etc etc all ghroighthe Pac nor west alone itnisna mindblowing massivè amount of total wilderness forested mtns with no human presence whatsoever. Les Stroud stated several times that he criticizes Todd Standing, and he was skeptical of every piece of evidence that came his way. Even after seeing unexplainable light orbs, having trees fall at inexplicable times around him, and hearing weird sounds at night, he still is skeptical.

@@zaynes5094 I didnt have a strange interaction when I was homeless in the California mountains, and I was apparently living in bigfoot territory for 3 and a half years. But ive had very odd encounters with a group of animals trying to chase me off when I was a porter in Alaska.
At first I was woken up by shaking of trees in the distance, at which point I didnt really consider anything other then a pack of wolves which in that area they probably werent feeding well so I just grabbed everything and my gun, then went and turned on my snow mobile which was luckily not covered in snow. But my only problem with the whole situation, was there was a constant tree shaking and if they were wolves then I would of heard distinctive characteristics of a pack of wolves.
I dont think it was bigfoot, and I dont believe in bigfoot. However I understand when people say they have weird encounters in the wilderness they cant explain, because that was one of the very few times where I was scared shitless in a situation where I couldnt really piece together what was going on so I just left.

Survivorman was the realest shit I ever watched. Nothing compares. Bear Grylls tried to fake it but it just can’t be faked. When Les is out there, and you see him going through what he’s going through, it FEELS real because it is real. If you get into his life beyond just the show, you learn how much of a toll it took on Les. He puts himself through essentially near-death experiences over and over, and it would take the better part of a year just for him to recover. After you go through that, you can’t replicate it. That’s why the show is so captivating.
Also why he quit doing the show. The episodes just took so much out of him.
Like anything, in the beginning, you can push hard, but eventually given the choice, one chooses to move onto something else.
How may weeks of our lives would we want to go through drinking sketchy water, and eating half a dead squirrel...It was good show. We we had more actual 'real' shows, not the fake crap, we have now. Cheers
The insane thing is he's just a normal dude too. When he's on JRE, Joe is talking to a pretty ordinary guy. Obviously the survival is extraordinary though. He just has the skill to survive and is able to navigate the trauma afterwards. If that's true I'm glad he stopped doing it, if it's best for him. He has given us an amazing gift.

Being a survival expert doesn't mean you should be trusted when you make unfalsifiable claims about the existence of an undocumented species without evidence. Just because someone is an expert in one thing doesn't make them an expert in everything. This is why people like Jordan Peterson, though very well-versed in psychology, shouldn't be looked at as experts of philosophy or politics. These fields of study do have some crossover, but being an expert in philosophy or political science requires the same amount of time and academic dedication as being an expert in psychology. The same can be said for Les Stroud, he is a survival expert, but he isn't an anthropologist, archaeologist, or primatologist who has been studying and has evidence of an undocumented species.

He could have been sleep-deprived and seeing things, he could have been mistaken and it was a bear, he could be lying, he could've actually seen something, but there is no way for us to actually know. It's fine if you do, but ultimately it isn't a rational position and Joe or anyone else has every right to be skeptical regardless of their own survival skill. There is no reason to believe Les Stroud saw bigfoot over anyone else who goes hiking in rural areas regularly. Him being a survival expert doesn't really mean anything.
