Another issue is that the Lakers are always overly optimistic in their projections for a player’s return. We know this! That’s why I didn’t expect anything different regarding Vando’s current timeline. What I do know is that Vando is a complete game-changer defensively, and his impact directly affects the ceiling the Lakers can reach as a team when healthy. I don’t mind if it takes him a couple of extra months to get completely healthy. The Lakers have plenty of tradable contracts to address the team’s needs without giving up any of their core players, which allows Vando the time he needs to fully heal. Hate to say it, but fans need to stop being overly emotional and pushing to trade a player who is earning just $12 million and is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league-especially when the team is off to its best start in over 20 years. That makes absolutely no logical sense.

Vuc is shooting 46% on threes and averaging 21 and 10, plus 1 block per game. He also has a post up game that can work well when Davis needs a break. He's basically a jack of all trades type of center who would be perfect off the bench, and most importantly he has enough size to not get pushed around in the paint like Hayes and Koloko. On top of that, he's a very good passer for a big, averaging 3 assists per game this season. Vuc can do it all, and would be a great fit in LA.

I think the Lakers GM should rethink signing 7-foot-3 Kai Sotto as their back-up Center if they plan on buying-out Jaxson Hayes. It's also a great idea to pair him with Dalton Knecht for the future of the team since they are of the same age at 22/23. If vando can come back healthy go all in and get a big using dlo, gabe, and 2 1st to get a guy who is a defensive center. Ad, lebron, reaves, knecht, and vando will give around 90-100 a night alone. Defense has always won the nba finals.
Reddish has been great in Vando’s absence. If I was the Lakers, I would seriously consider trading Vando for DFS. More consistently available & a better 3ND player.

Cam has been better defensively on guards, but not on forwards. The team needs rebounding. Cam and Knecht haven't helped with that.
