The Shashemane land grant was not only for Rastafari people, but really for any of the slave trade diaspora, especially those who had supported Ethiopia against the Italian occupation. It is associated with the Rastafari because they were most enthusiastic in response to the land grant, and their veneration of Emperor Selassie

    1. Not just Shashamene or the nation of Ethiopia is the Promised Land.
The whole of Africa was once Ethiopia and is the Promised Land.
    2. H.I.M. Haile Selassie I was not born in the Shashamene area but 18 miles outside of Harar, Ejersa Goro to be precise.

TRUE Rasta movement is about self-reliance, and independence. After being there over 16 years, couldn't he set an independent foundation for himself😳? I don't think he is from Jamaica. No REAL Jamaican Rastas are like that. He needs to TRIM!...and STOP calling himself Jamaican!

Most Jamaica were taken from Southern part of Ethiopia particularly from Gofa areas. Some of the names of Jamaica much resembles the names in Gofa area. For instance, Aykana Mala Mantra Manda tells us the tribe (Ayka) descendent of Ayka (na), major human being classification in that locality (Malla), given name Manda and Father's name Mantira.
