- This tutorial will show you how to crochet an easy ribbed vest / sweater which can be made in any size from baby to adult. This vest is suitable for beginners.
For my vest I used a 5mm crochet hook and Drops Lima yarn (DK weight).

Dear woolywonders, when you skip the four stiches to start the arm hole for the ribbed vest is that for all sizes or just for the size you're making in your tutorial please let me know...

11:08 Cutting in. You say "turn your work over" but what if our work is right side facing, do we start our 'cutting in' on the wrong side?.I am doing this garment for an adult. I learned the difference of the right side and wrong side from you. The bottom part should be standing proud ( the rows are raised, dipped, raised, dipped) 'raised meaning standing proud. The tail from my chain is on the right, that row stands proud, then the next row has a dip, so I believe my garment is right side facing me. I have ended on a row with right side of the garment facing me and the finishing yarn is also on the right hand side of the garment. Sorry this is a long post, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who has this question. I hope you don't mind me asking another question for future video's. Some of us don't know the difference between the right and wrong side, so could you somehow show us which side is front when you crochet for us to learn please. Hey I am currently doing this pattern and following your video to the exact size. I am using different wool and crochet hook so any chance you would be able to tell me in CM how much yours measured to at (16 rows) before you decreased for the armholes. I did follow the link for the written pattern but couldn't find it. Thanks :-)

Firstly I love your work, I just watched the start of the tutorial, usually you add to top sizing. I have made many of your patterns the only thing that frustrates me is the ply, ie: in Australia it's 4 or 8ply sometimes they don't add onto label, once it turned out only big enough for a doll.
Kathryn Jankos I understand your frustration! I am from Australia as well and it can get annoying. I'm not sure if you were asking what ply yarn she was using but if so - it's roughly an 8ply. If you were asking what size it is for she said about 1-2 years. Hope that helps and know that you're not alone!
Same here,I really loved her tutorial, I made lot of her patterns using flinders 8ply 100%cotton but it's so small for newborn.. It's really frustrating 😓.. im from australia also.🇦🇺
