@@selestroyt They are called "Challenge Coins" they're a sign of achievement in the US military. Basically a medal but in coin form.
That is a once in a lifetime special memory for a father and a son.
We agree!
@Josh 79 yeah because hes a waiter
@@usarmy why does he have a ranger tab and a US army patch? Am I confused
@@probablyagoatedplayer7755 The Ranger Tab is for the leadership school, I might be wrong but who is going to tell the SMA that he can not have a Go Army patch on his left arm. Again I most likely am wrong being I never served but everything I've ever read never said anything about the left patch, the right one I know is the battle patch. Ok, I am now ready to be ripped apart for stepping in a world I have zero business in and I do admit I willingly walked on in, like the lamb to the slaughter. All I ask is make it a clean, fast kill. In other words don't play with the prey.
@@thomasohanlon1060 lmao, yeah I hear you, no one can tell csm what to wear... but the US Army patch is only usually allowed to be worn by people in Basic Training or AIT, if you wear it outside of there in your unit you're actually out of regulation. I've never seen someone wear that, my initial would spazz out if we had that on. Maybe he's wearing it because he's trying to symbolize being in their level?? But that's goofy as hell lmao so I hope not. It's just very weird to be wearing a Ranger tab on top of a basic training patch that no one in the actual Army anywhere would wear... unless he never had a unit, and never deployed... idk. I totally believe he's CSM... but I've never seen a training patch on a CSM. Just awkward looking.
The fact that both of these high ranking men went out of their way to thank him and his father for their service is truly special!
I thank everyone of them for their SERVICE and the SACRAFICE they, and their FAMILIES and love ones endure for this country everyday
So we can rest easy!
God bless them all
And we must honor our comitment to their health care.
So we can have honor too
I'd like to hear his dad
that night at the VFW
He has too be so proud
I know I am!
And I don't know him
I've met SMA Grinston once in a focus group as a SPC. He travels in a posse and has a SPC (bless that SPC's heart) photographer.
The focus group was oriented around some new immersive training the Army is preparing for Sharp, and first of all I'll tell you that the training is great and immersive. It left goose bumps on everyone in the room. Second f all, SMA asked a lot of questions to the focus group, which included ~7 people. Unfortunately the E7 who coordinated the training was also answering all of the questions that he had aimed towards the focus group.
Despite us nodding our heads in genuine agreement with his answers, after a handful of questions being answered by the E7 SMA asked him kindly to shut up so he could get our feedback.
I only spent an hour around him, but he seems like a very down to earth person who has an open-enough mind to introduce effective changes.
@@broitssnow Thanks mister joy kill
@@broitssnow I will say the Army does alot of questionable recruiting tactics, but this is truly not one. I been in the Air Force for over 13 years, and was attached to the 82nd for 6 years, its a tradition that is done with and without the cameras on. This is just one time that it was posted on their youtube channel, but for every one of these, there are 9 others not being posted. Recruiting aside, tradition will never go away in all of the Armed Forces.
@@broitssnow sorry I can go back and fourth with you debating but when you say its "any presidents military" it just lets me know you dont know what you are talking about. Saying the military is the only ones that do it is also wrong as EVERYTHING in life is about marketing and sales.. college, companies, and military.. EVERYTHING so when you said that it was also wrong. I did serve in war time as well.. i have also served/serving under 3 presidents and I can tell you nothing is different from Obama, Trump, or Biden. However, i will tell you if you want to see change, it starts with your local govenors as the president isnt even the person who can start wars... Did we just forget how politics work lately!?!
If I had a general standing in front of me and the sergeant major of the army both on the phone with my father I would probably pass out from the overwhelming amount of firepower standing around me

A special moment for that young man and his father. When I was commissioned a 2LT out of ROTC my CSM father was still on active duty and got to pin my bars on, give me my first salute and collected his dollar. That was special for both of us.
wait, my stepdad said it was $20
What dollar do you mean?
It should be a REQUIREMENT for officers to be E4s of 2 years TIG before being pinned.
@@bomcstoots1 why?
ROTC 😂🤮
I had joined the reserves after my active duty service. One weekend we were training basic soldier skills. My role was to be a casualty while others performed first aid on me. We were out in a field and it was pretty warm out. I was laying on the ground and dozed off. Then I hear a commotion around me, people talking. I open my eyes a little and all I see is a Kevlar helmet above my face, with a rank insignia full of stripes, rockers, eagle and stars, below that was the kevlar band with the name KIDD on it. It was Command Sergeant of the Army Kidd. He said to me "Excellent job being a casualty, Specialist! For a minute I actually thought you were dead if not for your snoring! Carry on!!" and walked away. Behind him was my 1st Sgt. He glanced at me, slowly shaking his head and walked away.
Command Sergeant of the Army Kidd caught me as he was looking out a window near a tall archway displaying Air Assault Wings on top of it. I was, at the time in Air Assault School at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, East Range. We were supposed to drop and knock out pushups' if you crossed under that archway as a Air Assault wannabe. Being a highly respected Shammer and Barracks Lawyer of the E4 Mafia, I thought noone was lookin and jogged on through with nary a Pushup! I hear from afar...."Hey you! Come here!" After my soul jumped out of my body, I was soon face to face with Command Sergeant of the Army Kidd!!!
Needless to say I was...Alarmed, and was thinking about my Rank growing wings and flying away into oblivion! Then... Oh Shit! My entire unit will hear about this, I thought, as a frog tap dance in my throat singing as song called "You're F'd! Command Sergeant The Kidd, was now grinning at me as if he were Tom and I was Jerry and he had me firmly by the tail ready to eat me! Knock em out Specialist.... he said with an evil laugh.... 20 for me 20 for the Army 20 for Air Assault and 20 more for the laps of integrity! As I recovered, he held before me a a glimmering coin, handed it to me, said "Go and sin no more" then without another word.... walked away.... leaving me unharmed and with a slight trickle of piss running down my leg!

@@JLOCC23424 This comment was likely written by a recruiter. The US armed forces are extremely toxic and negative work environments that break people down more than they build them up. You'll spend all your money on food for your dorm, new socks and underwear and if you're lucky maybe a laptop to play video games so that you can distract yourself from the dull, painful monotony. If you end up in combat, the brass won't be looking after you at all. They WILL make dumb decisions that get their own men killed just to play KA with their superiors. Though this is a heart warming video, I see a lot of comments of people wanting to enlist in the US military because of this. Please do your research before enlisting, and be damn sure you are in a career field that you will like and will benefit your civilian life. The main goal of the military is to better your civilian career, military service doesn’t last forever. Also keep in mind that all branches of the US military is very, very, VERY political. I can’t stress enough how political the military is. You will do jobs and tasks that are against every type of code and honor there is, but your government requires your unit to preform those tasks.
Couldn't have said it better myself!
I would say swap out political with more bureaucratic. It's more internal operation, SOP, saving face and kissing up to those higher or in better positions. You do answer to the government and whatever politics are prominent and pushed in office but you really have no political sway in the military. Heavily expressing political views is taboo because you do what the government says regardless of your beliefs, and when it comes to criticizing government it is punishable with UCMJ action which can reduce your rank and pay or even removal from the armed services without benefits. This was seen the LTC Scheller of the Marine Corps after he publicly spoke to the media criticizing the withdrawal from Afghanistan and President Bidens judgment losing him his career as an officer. I agree with what you've said though besides that, but I thought I'd put that out there for more reference on service. It's really a great opportunity to boost your civilian life, especially when youre young and can spend a couple years doing badass stuff going around the counrty and possibly world and especially with a good job choice. Pay attention to and negotiate your contract, don't let recruiters swindle you and don't sign anything through MEPs or recruiters until you get a good deal and benefits.
Also, people should understand that while they are in the military, they are essentially government property. Your rights and choices are reduced while signed up.
Nah, the point of military service is to serve your country. If it benefits you as well, that's a bonus.
No you don't matter. No you'll be a cog in the machine. But that's the point. It's selfless service to something bigger than yourself. You shouldn't be joining it for self benefit alone or you're in the wrong field.
@@Chrunops You should have a plan for what to do after the military. People that don't think about life after the military tend to peak during their service. There's more to life than the military.

Guys to develop superpowers, protect yourself from other people's bad energies, the devil and eye hallucinations, you need to train your body physically like crossfit with work on boxing bags, then bad energies and black dust from bionanorobots (sometimes transparent, but it is still visible as distortions in the air with the feeling of a transparent gel around in space) will not be able to cling to your body and nerves of the eyes and you will not see and feel pain, you need to train all muscle groups so that there are no weak spots and mentally imagine how you tear apart the pain and the picture in front of your eyes with your hands, also imagine how this dust burns up turning into emptiness in this way, you mentally destroy this shit this is the beginning of super strength, also train your neck and head by stuffing it on a boxing bag or shaking your head strongly in different directions like rock stars at a concert - to feel the beating of the brain against the skull - this will strengthen the neurons of the brain and also wake up less nightmares and feel less pain, exercising and fantasizing, you can develop other superpowers in yourself, but for each person individually, it will be easier to get some kind of strength (The principle of work is in the transformation of physical strength into mental strength). Also, minimize the amount of food, it is best to eat rice cooked in water like the Shaolin monks, hunger and a minimum of different flavors, you will redirect the energy from the digestion of food by the stomach to the strength you want! Another tip is to eat lemons or citric acid - (0.5-1 spoon / l dry with at least 3 cups of water, it's easier to drink and a large amount of water will reduce the overall acidity - my record is 5 spoon / citric acid per day) this will speed up your metabolism and protect against poisons, spoiled food and metal salts, (logically, even from radioactive particles, such as alpha and beta - packing them in a carbon cocoon and neutralizing direct contact with internal tissues), if you have any questions, ask! Holy shit, it worked! I now have superpowers, and Netflix is even pitching a series based on me.

Yep! Just straight propaganda right here
My dad served in Afghanistan for a bit. He has told me a few stories about his time there. Mostly it's just intense training and stuff, but there are times where you do get to have fun and mess around. He says it's not the "hell" many think it is.
@@countingdays856 My brother killed himself because PTSD he got in Afghanistan. don't tell me it's not "hell" just because your dad told you some story saying it wasn't bad for him doesn't mean it wasn't hell for others.
