After I did quick select on the parts of the car that I wanted to change color and pressed b with black paint it color the car and didn’t do the checkered look where you painted

You can just use the speed controls in RUclips. I think it was CS6, although it's been a while I'm not 100% sure

Hue/Saturation tool only changes a colors to other colors, gray/white/black won't be affected by this tool for the most part, you should use the color balance tool along with some brightness/contrast adjustment
