I live in southern California and all I have to do is drive a short distance to the mountains in 'east county' and there is snow all winter. Warm surf along the coast and snow if I want it to the east.
California is one of the few places where in just over an hour, you can go from the sunny coast off the Pacific Ocean (the beach), drive through a downtown city, drive through the snow covered mountains and end up in the desert. 🏖🌇🏔🏜
How time flies congratulations on one year😊 i still watch Jono's old videos as well from time to time... I never miss any on GFR 😊 too bad Jono couldn't be on for your one year.😢
Leavenworth WA is absolutely beautiful and the rugged Cascades mtns it is nestled in are awesome. My family camps near here every year and goes to the Christmas lighting and Octoberfest every year....... it is a magical place for adults and children👍
Congratulations 🎊 👏 Prescott Arizona has a great Christmas. Lots of lights, festivities and the Prescott resort has a gingerbread village. The town 20 minutes away. Prescott Valley arizona had a drive thru light display and civic center is decorated with a bunch of lights.
Santa Claus Indiana celebrates Christmas year round. They do get snow in the winter. I live close to Durango CO and it is very nice at Christmas if the roads aren't icy. Peace, Love!!
If you want to find a great place in America for ____, open a map and throw a dart at it ! (cut to Jono sitting infront of his computer with a dart sticking out of the screen and Jono saying "why did you tell me to do that?!")
Congratulations, love you guys, beautiful family, you can go to any city, any state and everything is decorated for Christmas, parades and delicious food and drinks
Happy Anniversary to your RUclips journey! Thank you for always being yourselves and being the fabulous people that you are. I personally am so glad that I have found your channel and that you guys are literally part of our family now...we all love you guys and send nothing but the best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. Thank you for always spending time with us and sharing your life. I hope you know just how how much we actually love you guys ❤. Wishing you the very Best this Christmas! 🎄🎅🏼
I enjoyed watching the beautiful Christmas displays with ya'll. You are such a sweet and lovely family. On antoher note, I'm so thrilled the video narrator pronounced Natchitoches correctly.
There is snow in northern California. In the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee, there is snow. Areas in high elevations do have mountains and often have snow.
Congrats on one year! Feels like time flies and we’re watching the kids grow up right before our eyes. But happy to be a part of the journey and hopefully involves a US trip soon enough!
Northern California gets snow, Central California gets cold but rainy and southern California is a little warmer than Central California but not as much rain.
The one place where you were talking about where it looks like it was summer with children in shorts and t-shirts was Indiana and they get lots of snow in the winter because they are a Northern State. However, you missed when they said that that place was open all year round, so some of those pictures were taken in the summer. That's where the confusion was. You missed what they said, that's all.
Our Christmas town is every day all year round. Frankenmuth Michigan is wonderfull and during the summer, we have a giant car show and many other festivals. But it is all year round.
They definitely get snow in Santa Clause, Indiana. The theme park Holiday World was called Santa Clause Land when I was growing up. It is a lot of fun. If you can go there, I would
There are places in California that gets 170 inches of snow in a single storm. Look up Doner Pass. There is also a North Pole, NY in the Adirondack Mountains. Two times of year to avoid New York City are Christmas and New Years. That 0.5% of NY is a nightmare year round but during those holidays it's horrifying. Long lines, hours waiting to do nothing worth the price.
Northen michigan here. Expect a foot of snow tomorrow (30cm). Houses here have at least 1 door that opens inward in case you have a couple feet of snow against it.
In California a long chain of mountains is called the Sierra Nevada Mountains. One particular area is called Donner Pass. On average Donner Pass receives 10.45 meters of snow per year. In 1952 they received a record breaking amount of snow (and the record still stands) when they received 20.6 meters of snow in one year. For us Americans that equals 411 inches, and 812 inches, respectively. I always enjoy all of your videos.
We just had our 2024 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting last Wednesday. If you decide to attend, you need to arrive early. It gets crowded, and security is tight. Theere is live entertainment before the tree lighting, which usually happens by 8,30, or 9 o'clock that night. I have been at least two times. I prefer to watch it live on TV.
I was in Hawaii for 2 weeks before Christmas once, and while it was a beautiful place, it didn't feel like Christmas. They don't have evergreen trees, so that was odd, seeing a tree with hardly any branches decorated for Christmas and warm, sunny days at the beach felt like a summer vacation. When I got home, there was a foot of snow on the ground and it immediately felt more festive.
It snows in some parts of California, in the Sierras, up in the mountains up north and even in southern CA like Big Bear where you can snowboard in the morning and surf in the afternoon on the same day. We used to haul snows in our trucks from the mountain to the beach to make snowman while in surfing attires to the delight of tourists. 😀😃😄😂
Many houses in the more snowy areas have provision to escape the house from the second floor for when the snow gets very deep. A one story house may have a door to the outside in the attic. Of course houses in those areas have steep metal roofs to aid in getting the snow off of the roof as soon as possible before more snow falls. In California snowfall is all about elevation above sea level. In San Francisco next to the ocean it may snow a very small trace amount that vanishes as soon as it touches the ground once every ten years, but elsewhere in the city it may snow a small amount every year for example on Twin Peaks (912’ / 285m). There are over four hundred ski resorts in 37 States. You can even ski in Hawai’i on the volcano, but there is no resort or even a ski lift. You need someone with a four wheel drive vehicle to take you to the top of the volcano.
Almost every city in the USA has some sort of Christmas event and area that is decorated excessively and most people go all out with their holiday decorations, same for Independence Day on July 4th.
Santa Claus, Indiana is open year round so some of those pics are during the summer. I'm partial to Williamsburg, Virginia. Virginia is my birth state and Williamsburg is about a 4 hour drive from where I live so a great road trip. I adore the history as well.
I'm Bias . Went to College 1 hour away from Leavenworth and live 2 1/2 hours away near Mt Rainier. Leavenworth is stunning no matter what season especially if your an outdoors person. I believe with all the activities here in Washington State I was able to reach 72 and still the same size ,wait as I was in the year 66 not fluctuating more than 5 pounds. I am a pig when it comes to eating I eat anything I want doesn't matter how much. Never been able to gain weight.
Actually California does have snow in a few places. Its huge. You can fit the UK inside of California twice. Most people associate California with Los Angeles but thats just one city.
Everyone always thinks California is hot all year round like Florida but we’re not. Where I live in Southern California, the average temperature may be warm for you is anywhere from 55-70 degrees Fahrenheit during the day but dips down to 30 degrees here sometimes at night. Plus we have a lot of local mountains here about an hour away, where it snows a ton. Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead are beautiful in the snow and summer because both also have lakes for playing in the summertime. Great skiing towns as well. California is much more than what they show on movies and t.v. We are the most diverse state in the country as far as different climates go. Everything from beaches, to mountains, to deserts, to meadows/plains, beautiful National and State parks and tons of farmland. 😊 Jono can hang out at the beach while you drive 1-2 hours away to go to the mountains😂
Lord please provide for my sons this Christmas. Father God give me strength, I seem to bear the weight of the world on my shoulders as a single mom, I often face challenges that can seem insurmountable especially with raising two children with special needs. I’m trying to balance everything but Lord I’m struggling to make ends meet, to pay bills, and to put food on the table for my children. HEAVENLY FATHER Thank you for giving ME strength to keep going.
You have made a great run on the videos after a year. You guys need more subscribers though. Maybe flash a graphic up during the video to Like & Subscribe?
You can see the daughter is bored, lol! Instead of cing online, make a trip and experience it in person! It's totally different, smells, energy, visual, etc
Santa Claus In is in the southern Indiana the state borders Michigan, lllinois,Kentucky and Ohio the town is located at the lowest point in the state Bordered with Illinois and Kentucky borders
Depending on where you live in California, some places get LOTS of snow, others not so much.
I live in southern California and all I have to do is drive a short distance to the mountains in 'east county' and there is snow all winter. Warm surf along the coast and snow if I want it to the east.

@@strix.1 I live in the desert, which is about 45 minutes from Big Bear Snow and an 1-11/2 hours from the beach!
Facts, I live in San Diego, we only get one kind of snow.
*sniff sniff*
Yes, please film your village and post it.
How time flies congratulations on one year😊 i still watch Jono's old videos as well from time to time... I never miss any on GFR 😊 too bad Jono couldn't be on for your one year.😢
I live in Salida Co. and every year we light up a 750 ft tall Christmas tree on the side of a mountain with fireworks and a parade!!!
I'm in Lakewood! I'll have to drive down there and check that out.
Leavenworth WA is absolutely beautiful and the rugged Cascades mtns it is nestled in are awesome. My family camps near here every year and goes to the Christmas lighting and Octoberfest every year....... it is a magical place for adults and children👍

Wonder who picked the video 😂😂😂 very festive.
Congratulations on your one year anniversary from Dallas!
The two of you will have an amazing time in NYC. It is like in the movies but far more in real life!
If you want to find a great place in America for ____, open a map and throw a dart at it ! (cut to Jono sitting infront of his computer with a dart sticking out of the screen and Jono saying "why did you tell me to do that?!")
It definitely snows a lot in parts of California! I’m here in cold northeastern Illinois about 40 miles north of Chicago.
Which town are you in? You are a bit closer to where I am originally from (about 80 miles away from Chicago in the Rockford IL area)
@ I’m up north in the Gurnee/Waukegan area.
Nearly any part north of 32* latitude in the US gets snow in the winter. The further north you go gets snow earlier and deeper usually.
Congratulations on your one year mark! We have no room for the tree this year, so we needed to use our Charlie Brown tree.
Happy 1 year and adorable fur baby!!
Congratulations to your famliy.
Happy Anniversary!!🎉 * also parts of California it does snow
Congratulations, love you guys, beautiful family, you can go to any city, any state and everything is decorated for Christmas, parades and delicious food and drinks

I really hope mom and Leah make it to New York for Christmas...the atmosphere in the city around Christmas time is just unbelievable.

My kids are older and have their kids, so very low key Christmas this year, just my wife and I.
Colorado usually has a bunch of really good setups

Every time the narrator says winter Wonderland, everybody drinks
Solvang is a Danish community.
16:01 Be prepared, NYC can get 🥶 by mainland European standards.
18:40 North Pole, Alaska gets even colder than that.
React to the famous decorations on some homes in US. Some homes have thousands of lights n yes their electric bills are sky high

She thinks its a bit too much, probably because she never had the experience in person, and the energy people feel!
Sorry but having lived in NY for 30+ years (and finally retiring in Minnesota) NYC is nice at Christmas but no way #2 over all those others.

St Augustine, Florida is very beautiful. I visited and went on a few tours there and it was wonderful. It wasn’t during Christmas.
