- The new marvel film Black Panther is set in the imaginary country of Wakanda.
But one thing you might not know is that the official language of Wakanda is real - it's actually from South Africa and is called isiXhosa.
Our correspondent Pumza Fihlani is a Xhosa speaker and she takes us through some useful phrases for getting by in Wakanda.

Other languages sound like complete gibberish even to those who speak them! Other languages sound primitive, English is the language of modern times. The real reason everyone speaks English is the same reason the whole world tires to copy and is fascinated by our culture, the USA is #1. American culture dominates the world.

Exactly same as Portuguese brazilian (my native language) but with clicks. Maybe I should learn it haha
Xhosa is my native language, and yeah, it's very hard to pronounce, but not all words have clicks in them, so you'll get the hang of it with enough practice

as a Xhosa guy, I must say the Xhosa language was heavily butchered on Black Panther. But I must say, I was heavily impressed because there are certain sounds that just dont exist in English. To have to learn that in days when you did not grow up hearing is impressive.

I'm south African too, so when I was watching the movie what I head was a mix of Xhosa language and isiZulu language. What you are teaching is Pure Xhosa and is difficult unlike in the movie. I Still love it though

I used to live in South Africa and a lot of my friends could speak native languages such as Zulu and so I ended up being able to pronounce a lot of the clicks and names. It is quite cool
