Announcing the release of Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ as a deluxe box set to celebrate 50 years since the release of one of the best-selling albums of all time. Newly remastered, the box set will be released on 24th March 2023.
One of the most iconic and influential albums ever, Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ continues to find new audiences globally. The album was partly developed during live performances, and the band premiered an early version of the suite at London’s Rainbow Theatre several months before recording began. ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ is the eighth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in the US on 1 March and then in the UK on 16th March 1973. The new material was recorded in 1972 and 1973 at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road studios) in London. The iconic sleeve, which depicts a prism spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis and drawn by George Hardie. ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.
The new deluxe box set includes CD and gatefold vinyl of the new 2023 remastered studio album and Blu-Ray + DVD audio featuring the original 5.1 mix and remastered stereo versions. The set also includes additional new Blu-ray disc of Atmos mix plus CD and LP of ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon - Live At Wembley Empire Pool, London, 1974’. For full details see listing below.

i love playing that bass line, it's so satisfying to me 🤩
100%
You're a fuckin legend. Go play in public, not for hat money but to make whatever beautiful city you live in a more lively and awesome place.
My mom currently is dying and this song still makes her blink we’ve listened to this song everyday just understand you have given my mother great relief in her final days
so sorry for your loss!
Who here agrees pink floyd is the best band in the WORLD? 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
I agree 👍🏴
@@paulconlon264defo paul get down the pub ave a pint an a mushroom rice
The only reason anyone would say otherwise is they haven’t listened to enuf pinkfloyd who new originality and innovation better than these guys truly
The problem is that one member named R.W. lost his mind, maybe too much "diamonds"...
They’re like the Grandads of influence through so many branches of music and song creation and I’m so grateful for them and their vision they so masterfully express 😊
Each song on "Dark Side of the Moon" is without a doubt a masterpiece, but the guitar, bass and drum work in "Money" is just out of this world really. Especially Gilmour's two solo's. Perfection.
What about the keys work??? We must never forget Richard Wright!!!
David Gilmour way underrated. Solo on Time might be the best Studio Guitar Solo ever.
David Gilmour must be that good. Played on several of McCartney`s Albums and Sir Paul could get get the Pope if he wanted.
It's out of this world, but did it make it to the dark side of the moon?
That sax thooo
Im so glad my dad intrusuced me to this fabulous band! May he rest in peace 🕊️
Easily one of the best songs ever made
Hard to argue that...
Agreed
SONGS hell ONE of the best albums ever recorded!
Yes, although only in terms of production quality/ polish plus the genius riff. Otherwise it's just kind of a cool extended vamp/jam
And the arrangements and solos haha @@risiblecomestible3319
The interplay between the soloists and backing keyboards is genius
i was re listening to this, having studied Gilmore's sound and phrasing in my appreciation of all things guitar. with his solo in this being amongst my favorites over all....
I was thinking and hearing exactly that interplay that Richard Wright has with the sax and guitar
....then I read this comment,
Yes, it really is genius...and to them it was probably doing just what they do with little thought, just a natural thing. naturally amazing thing at that.
Yes we're all listening in different times, years and dates 🫠
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
The BEST group in the world.
We grew up listening to this great band even while living behind the "Iron Curtain".
I'm 68 years old and so far no one has come close to them!!!
I'm barely 12 years old and I 100% agree.
Согласен, каждый раз по новому открываю для себя Пинк Флойд, хотя мне всего лишь 32, пока 12 лет только слушаю...
well ..keep rockn in the free world

Im 19 and I totally agree
I'm 107 years old, and I hear this sound every time I wake up
I can never get over that saxophone solo, it’s amazing!! ✌️😙
What a great sound for this masterpiece of music, in 500 or more years it will still be brilliant !!! ❤
Its eliciting an emotional response 🎶❤
You're human and probably intelligent!@@chateaupig826
I've always enjoyed Pink Floyd, glad their music never gets old. ♥️
I was 9 years old when I first heard this song. It stopped me dead in my tracks! Still thrills me 50 years later! 🥰 I ❤Pink Floyd!
My generation. I was 12 👋 I still know how to play the air guitar to it 😁
I cant see them so I'm gonna see Brit Floyd friday and Australian pink Floyd next Friday.
Agreed 😊😊
Okay boomer
I wasn't quite that young! Maybe 17 in 95'. They quickly became my favourite band of all time VERY soon after devouring all they'd had to offer though, I seriously doubt that will ever change!
I bought this album when I was 13. Many memories! Thank you, from Detroit, MI.
*I had a Quadraphonic Stereo and this rocked it!*
Time to get an even better one.....you deserve it.
- How many remasters is enough?
Pink Floyd:
- Yes
Now my grandson's favorite song , a song for ages.🎸
Trained right!
My daughter's fav when she was a youngster...❤
My Dad introduced me to them in 1987 when I was three. I'm autistic like Syd Barrett.
@@pauljordan4452 Well, what can I say? Only that your Dad opened the world of proper music for you. Good luck!!!
Absolutely the greatest song of the rock & roll era! IMHO.
I could listen to this track forever❤😊
Amen Brother!!!
This is my first ever Pink Floyd track that I've heard. I used to love it so much, but now I'm starting to dive deeper into their music.
I used to only know Dark Side of the Moon, even as a little child, I know this album. But now, I'm becoming a fan of them. Just like how my origins for being a fan of The Beatles are similar to my origins of being a Pink Floyd fan.
I remember. 1976. The little bedroom in Monrovia CA, 8 of us, high as kites, and this album. Ah memories.
Sounds so nice. Beautiful times ❤
Saw the group at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. It was the Division Bell Tour. Before the concert I met a great group of guys from South Dakota who sold me a ticket 15 rows from the stage at face value. Apparently this block of tickets had sold in South Dakota and right next to the guys I sat with were a large group of Native Americans (three rows at least) from the Pine Ridge Reservation in the same state. And let me tell you these Native Americans were passing the peace pipe, if you know what I mean. Great show! Never will forget it.
Didn't you get it? ; )
Definitely the genius of pink floyd lives.
I listen to this every time I want to get in touch with my Inner Capitalist. Still kicking ass and relevant as ever after 50 years. True classic.
This song really introduced Pink Floyd's capitalist side, which was later expounded 2 albums later, on Animals.
*One of the best songs to check your system's stereo capabilities.*
Or a really good pair of headphones
Doing this right now AKG 702’S through a new headphone amp 😂 pure joy
Wait, is this a The Italian Job movie reference?
Thank Alan Parsons! ❤
And the audio engineer was Alan Parsons....
Nobody can compare or equate to what these fellows have done. They are legends in their own right. I saw them only once. I wish I could have gone to more because it is an experience like none other as well. These guys are history legends. Thank you all. Everyone that was in the making of Floyd’s phenomenal album and shows as well. Cheers 🥂
I always tell my grandparents I wish I grew up in their era to see Pink Floyd live
👏Absolutely agree 110%
seen them twice, seen Roger Waters us and them tour in glasgow
This song is fantastic including the whole album that I have and original. Fantastic Pink Floyd ! ❤
And Gilmour is simply a great singer and an amazing guitar player.
I Agree with you!
I totally agree
Un ami m'a expliqué que Gilmour avait 19 ans quand il appris la guitare.
Some of the greatest basslines ever
The switch from 7/4 to 4/4 at 3:01 never fails to melt my face off.
facts. straight beautiful
Money, it's a gas ❤
grab that cash with both hands, make a stash
I remember the first time I listened to this song I was on some strong LSD and the music completely overwhelmed me and took over my body. After the guitar solo slowed down, I wasn’t prepared for the second explosion; and around 4:28 it was like a nuclear bomb of colors bro it’s hard to explain. Safe to say I was one with the music.
Great days.
@@Dustyholes that's funny, and I knows what you mean - - in an exact way, lol. Also had a moment or 2 just like that with the Judas Priest tune - Stained Class. Heady days, and way fun.

DSOTM is my favourite album of all time. Remember hearing this song in a car aged 10 in 1980 and it made a huge impression on me. Never get bored of listening to this masterpiece.

The best band ever!
The first time I heard this album I was crashing a keg party in Ocean Beach California. I was 16. I was blown the FK away. Most of those there were older than me.
such honesty. nailed it david!
The transition from 7/8 (or 7/4) time to 4/4 time is always so awesome -- and I also notice it's the most replayed part of this video!!
definitely one of the coolest parts, i love the drums there
the bassline during the 4/4 is just as good as the 7/4 section I think, it just gets overlooked because it blends so well you don't even think about it.
@@user-fi2tv6bq2s it’s definitely sick, not as iconic but still great
7/4 is one of the coolest and craziest time signatures. It feels so new, as you're used to 4/4 (the gold standard), 3/4, or even 6/8.
7/4 goes like this:
[ > > > ]
[ > > > > ]
@@dementedgamer0810 it goes like this actually [>>>>>>>]
Pink Floyd is one of my favorites 😍 💕 and this is one of my favorite songs
looking at BLACK METAL TEENS LISTENING TO PINK FLOYD
Mine too, they knew how to sing backin the 70’s!!!!
❤😊
All so true money stinks especially if you don’t have any you have to aim high for the readies and it doesn’t matter who you trample over
This song is such a vibe ❤️
Mason's drumming through the middle of this track is some of his best work IMO.
I wish music like this were today. They need to bring back the good stuff.
The musicians from the '60s, '70s and '80s used up all the possible note and rhythm combinations that made good music. It's why bland compositions, copyright infringement and "sampling" for crappy hip-hop and rap is all that's left. I apologize from my generation to the youth of today for depriving them of the chance to have as great a soundtrack woven into the fabric of their life as I've had in mine!
It is. I don't know exactly where but it's out there. Problem is, as the generations get lazier, the lazier music overshadows stuff like this. Only two artists that I can think of off the top of my head that play music for the sake of music are Cavetown and Los Retros. There's also some good finds in the current mainstream, but y'know, it's like finding a needle in a haystack
yo listen to Tame Impala. He makes more modern Psychedelic music that I think you would like!
Music has never been bad
y'all just old and aren't open minded. There is alot of bands out there and that are alot still coming. From MR bungle to Kali ulchis, there is alot of diversity in music right now. Alot of you old heads just want the music to sound the same and if yall would have had a stronghold the music would have stayed that way. That is against everything art is about, art will continue to change and grow. The new sound will always perplex the old generation, that is their responsibility. With the internet there is options, if you cant find good music you arent really looking for it.
Crazy vibe feeling! Loving that rarely used 7 vibe (7/4). Bass line sittin' wild right there, drums & all rallying around. Then, shifting gears into funky 8. Last coming back to the 7....way cool grooves ✨
Yes, and the way they shift gears so seamlessly is brilliant!
Great song from a great group!!! Just Timeless!!! Could listen to this song 24/7!!!
1:21 referenced in the wall movie
Absolute classic from the day it dropped. I could listen to this song 7/8 days of the week ;)

THIS ALBUM IS COMPLETELY LOADED WITH THE GREATEST MUSIC. IT'S NOT JUST ONE OR TWO TRACKS. EVERY TRACK IS THEIR BEST. TAKES ME BACK TO "HIGH" SCHOOL IN THE EARLY 70'S.
Wish you were here better in every way
The one good thing about Roger's cover version is that it makes me appreciate the original even more because of how much better it is ❤️🌈
Why would even he want to cover this masterpiece? I have to admit I haven't heard it, but I'm not rushing to!
@@carlhartwell7978Never heard of this Roger dude, but I just checked it out and it's... not that great tbh. The vocals are grating, the instrumentals are significantly more boring and less interesting compared to the original, and there's just some really ugly looking dog panting on the screen for no real reason as a "music video." You have never really heard Pink Floyd until you hear them live. It does not get any better.
Well, some might never get to see them through no fault of their own, so settle down and let anyone appreciate their genius in any way they can, perhaps?
I mean personally I venerate Beethoven just 'a tad' more, but...
And not only has nobody living heard Beethoven play, nobody has even heard any recordings of him perform. Yet hundreds of thousands flock to recitals of his work every year 200yrs on. Makes you think.🤷
@@carlhartwell7978 What are you smoking?
@@mikehunt-fx7sf Of course nothing! And frankly the very idea of any Pink Floyd fan ever indulging in marijuana or narcotics of any kind is ludicrous!
Read back your original statement, it's a ridiculous thing to say. Thankfully Pink Floyd felt differently or else they wouldn't have released a single piece of music on any format.
