Great choice Adrian. But I wondered how it would compared to Fiesta, the hatch that has been praised for its highly capable dynamic in Europe. Watching this in 2022 because I’m shopping for a used car for my gf and getting to the fuel part is 😅 because RON97 is now insanely expensive to run. If Adrian sees this, do you still run 97 on the car?
I also got attracted to the centrally mounted tachometer, with the next car having this placement is the Toyota 86/ Subaru BRZ twins, so this is a pretty sporty feature. Too bad, bank didnt allow so went for a dynamically-lacking Toyota Vios 2NR instead.
Im planning to buy one. But 2nd hand. Mayb you can help in giving some advise or anything info that you think i should know. Appreciate & thank you in advance.
If you manage to find one in good condition, it's quite a good car to drive. But do budget for wear and tear parts like brake pads, suspension, bushings and etc. Insurance depends on your coverage, NCD, and package, estimated to be around RM1,500 per year.
I kinda dissapointed because the face-lifted Mazda 2 is over 100k but Bermaz didn't give us full safety and accessories. With that price, they should imported Mazda 2 full spec just like Thailad spec. So, consumer will re-consider and think twice. Seriously, it is not good for competition in Malaysian market, even I like Mazda 2 very much since 2015 :( Do you have any idea about what is Bermaz actually thinking Adrian?
Unfortunate but thats the state of our tax structure 😕 with ADAS fitted, it'll drive the cost up even further, no one would spend 110k for a B-seg hatchback
Thank you for sharing your own personal thoughts. How about the new Mazda 2 2020? any test drive ? any thoughts? Looks like the price got higher. Is it worth to buy ? pls advise :)
Have not test-driven it, but first impression is it's far quieter than the pre-facelift and we love how the facelift looks. Price is now above RM 100k, depends on how you define 'worth it' 😄
Hello there! You gotta eat more. By the way, any comment about Mazda's gearbox and the atf changing schedule? In recent years, Mazda mentioned no need to change as the atf is designed for a lifetime. Thanks!
We'll let Adrian know that haha! If you have the budget to change the ATF, do go ahead with it. Fresh oil is always better for lubrication and protection 😃
Hi. I drive a sedan gvc model from 2018 and I loved the car. Only that now soon I may need a tyre change. Do you think sticking with the original rims is better and try to get whatever tyres to fit on it or just get a new set of rims?
Sticking to original rims and go for 195/55 R16 is good enough for fuel economy and better high speed stability. If you want a new look then a new set of rims, preferably 7J width 😃

I have an all new mazda 3 2020 (in sea).. this really helps in estimating future costs.. have you not have a part replaced in your 2? Like shocks or anything major?
Great user sharing from a journalist! Back to the year 2015, there are 3 choices of cars in my list below RM100k, which is Mazda 1.5 SkyActiv HB, Peugeot 1.6 VTi and Ford Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost. I have a hard time to consider their safety features, build quality, exterior/interior, handling and engine performance for my daily travel between work and hometown. In final, I had picked Ford Fiesta 1.0 EB, because of its overall performance satisfied me more compared the others. I love the Mazda 2 as well, but it's front/rear lamp didn't take my heart as what provided in Thailand spec and it's lightweight makes me felt unconfident when taking the tight corner or high speed cruising on highways. Most importantly, my cousin had bought a Mazda 2 Sedan at the same time and, the speciality made my decision firm at that time. I am still using Ron 97 since Day 1 as well and keeping my full maintenance service record with SDAC, as what Adrian did with Bernaz for better satisfaction and confidence level. Service and wear-and-tear cost almost the same. No major service for the parts' failure (besides accident). I had claimed for a new engine water pump in the year 2016 and replaced a battery (RM648.65 including labour fee) in the year 2018.

Unfortunately, i dont like the AT gearbox slow responsiveness (i guess reliability & prolong the lifespan of the gearbox) and vios is even better. I also got attracted to the centrally mounted tachometer, with the next car having this placement is the Toyota 86/ Subaru BRZ twins, so this is a pretty sporty feature. Too bad, bank didnt allow so went for a dynamically-lacking Toyota Vios 2NR instead.
Yeap, no other new Mazda (except for the MX-5) has this centre rev counter anymore. The Vios is also a pretty good car 😃
Are you still using this car? Thinking of getting one
How does the direct-injected engine performing after 5 years? Is it affordable to maintain?
So far so good, no problems with that.
Im planning to buy one. But 2nd hand. Mayb you can help in giving some advise or anything info that you think i should know. Appreciate & thank you in advance.
Hi i can tell you did your homework on this car, you got a good formula for car reviews.
do you have a video on the mazda 2 sedan with the sport trim?
Thanks for watching. Nope we do not have 1 at the moment
Mazda 3 maintenance how much?
Is it good to get it in 2ndhand?
Insurance too expensive or not?
Help me 😅
*yes i ask you about the mazda 3 haha.
If you manage to find one in good condition, it's quite a good car to drive. But do budget for wear and tear parts like brake pads, suspension, bushings and etc. Insurance depends on your coverage, NCD, and package, estimated to be around RM1,500 per year.
how the fuel economy on this 1.5i Auto?? sorry if i missed it on the video.
I kinda dissapointed because the face-lifted Mazda 2 is over 100k but Bermaz didn't give us full safety and accessories. With that price, they should imported Mazda 2 full spec just like Thailad spec. So, consumer will re-consider and think twice. Seriously, it is not good for competition in Malaysian market, even I like Mazda 2 very much since 2015 :(
Do you have any idea about what is Bermaz actually thinking Adrian?
Unfortunate but thats the state of our tax structure 😕 with ADAS fitted, it'll drive the cost up even further, no one would spend 110k for a B-seg hatchback
Thank you for sharing your own personal thoughts. How about the new Mazda 2 2020? any test drive ? any thoughts? Looks like the price got higher. Is it worth to buy ? pls advise :)
Have not test-driven it, but first impression is it's far quieter than the pre-facelift and we love how the facelift looks. Price is now above RM 100k, depends on how you define 'worth it' 😄
Buy Mazda 2 from 2019 or wait for new model in few years 😅 they will make maybe something between cx3 and Mazda 2 some crossover.
Is it worth it to get this 2nd hand compared to new myvi with about the same price?
So when year is the facelift of this model? And how much in €uro were the costs
Bro, any car phone holder that you can recommend? So difficult to find a decent one that works for Mazda 2 dashboard.
Hey Adrian, where do you get your car installed with android auto and what is the price?
DIY myself, I followed this guide ruclips.net/video/ocOvY6Q7NNo/видео.html please do it at your own risk 😃
Hello. Do you know how I could get the Android Auto into my Mazda 2 in Thailand?
Great video on your Mazda 2 ownership, what do you think about the cx3 2016 model?
The 2016 CX-3 is a fun car to drive but it's quite noisy. The facelifted CX-3 is much much better in terms of NVH and handling.
power la adrian!
Thanks bro!
Mazda 2 Vs Suzuki Swift Sport, which one is the best?
The Coolant control valve is faulty on many Mazda models… and a new one is very expensive 🤨
Which one is good mazda demio or Toyota passo for fuel economy
What's the specs on those wheel? I only heard 16 x 7. May I know the offset? I also have a mazda 2 DJ, looking to upgrade my wheels to 16 x 7 as well
Hi Adrian, I've may I know how/where do I go (workshop) to side load android auto ? My FW version is 59.00.502, I did some looking and found out I can't install it normally
How about the fuel?drain much fuel or better than myvi? And how about the service Mahal or not
Nice hair cut 💇♂️ Mana potong? 😎
Di rumah 💇🏻♂️
I have an all new mazda 3 2020 (in sea).. this really helps in estimating future costs.. have you not have a part replaced in your 2? Like shocks or anything major?
None so far, only batteries, brake pads and light bulbs 😃
Your Mazda 2 vs Proton Iriz. Which one ride and handling are superb?
Park
Iriz more comfortable and agile, Mazda2 more composed at high speed 😃
@@WapCar OK. Thanks
Mazda 2 hatchback n sedan, do they different a lot in driving dynamic?
I found sedan look more eyes catching
Not much of a difference, so if you need the boot space, go with the sedan.
Nice car indeed. Would have been perfect if it comes with 6-speed manual.
Would be fun indeed 😃
It does. Mine has it.
Allan Literato lucky you. Which country do you reside in? Here in Malaysia Mazda doesn’t offer manual transmission for all its cars except MX-5
PH. They only offer the manual in base trim though.
Awesome! Glad to hear that your experience with SDAC is a pleasant one 👍🏻
Actually if it’s light weight for u, just add abit of bodykit.. or best add spoiler behind. It tends to be balance even when tight corner.
Hi there...i hope u do read this comment here..
I have a question, how do u improve cabin sound for the mazda2 skyactiv?
I have same production year like you and i think the cabin sound are as bad as my previous car (satria neo 1st gen)
Adrian didn't do anything to improve the insulation, just left it as it is 😅
But the 5w40 shell ultra, is it really worth it? I mean liqui moly special tec aa cost less than that and the shell helix is not making any such improvement to the car...
Shell Helix is the official oil used by Bermaz Motor and so far so good 😃👍🏻
Hi, thanks for the review..nice car. What about the fuel consumption?
Thanks! Averaging between 7 - 7.4L/100km, quite poor because of the wider tyres 😃

So cool you got to me the designer. What insights were these? Would love to know more.
Bro, ur Mazda2 is almost 90k. So, it shd compliment u accordingly. Its a driver's car.
In 2015, I got my 3 yr old GH Mazda6 2.5 wit 30k kms for 90k. Still enjoying it..
I’m almost decided for Mazda 2 until the latest CBU model which cost me more than RM100k , still with 2 airbags........ eventually went for other brand........ haiz
Unfortunate because of our tax structure, but Mazda cars have always been for the small niche
Nice video adrian.
Thanks!
Used to owned mazda 2 back on 2015 & admitted that the car has had emotional appeal. Unfortunately, i dont like the AT gearbox slow responsiveness (i guess reliability & prolong the lifespan of the gearbox) and vios is even better. It's pretty much love & hate thingy with the car but you dont have much choice. Overall, it's good car with good RV. Mazda should relook & retune the AT gearbox to be better in the future
Yeap, it's not as snappy as DCTs, but we've come to appreciate it as the car's character 😃
@@WapCar now i'm happy man with F56 😊
Hi, can I know that you mentioned that all service/maintenance fees is after end of your
3 years free warranty/service?
Yes, prices mentioned are after the 3-Years Free Service schedule 😃
