The trauma here has clearly resurfaced upon hearing the trigger word assassin. I love how Evolution-R gave us such hints like these. It pleases me when adaptors do their homework. I just wish Naga appeared in the flesh.

From what I read, they originally offered the job to the guy who did Xellos' English voice in the previous seasons, but he turned them down. I believe for undisclosed reasons.
Zelgadis is the party's jack of all trades, but master of none. You've got Lina for attack magic, Gourry for swordsmanship, Amelia for healing, and then Zelgadis who just kind of does a little bit of everything, but doesn't really excel at any given specialty.

Interesting. I never knew that bit of Naga's history. It's a shame how much lore is omitted from the anime.
A shame we never really saw Naga outside of the movies and OVAs, and this was probably the closest we ever got to seeing her again.
