    Dearest Emma, I found your channel through a makeup video when you were still living with your dad. I fell in love with how you chose to dress your mid- to plus-size body (as a plus-sized woman myself). I stuck around for the home reno videos and ended up falling completely in love with you and your vibe. But I need you to hear this, Emma... THANK YOU for making this channel a safe space where you aren’t shaming anyone’s body. Where you enforce doing things that make you FEEL better rather than focusing on the numbers or beating yourself up over missing a goal. I appreciate you so so much ❤️

      I would love to second this comment!, I started watching Emma because I loved all the plus size fashion stuff. When the “plus size” bit went away I expected to lose interest in this channel but if anything I love it more. Emma is so kind and as you say, she never encourages you to focus on numbers but always says to do what makes you feel better. This makes me (a plus size girl) feel so much more comfortable in my body and a bit less like a failure this year💕💕

Struggling to keep up with the healthy eating, (suffer with depression and anxiety and insomnia, so motivation is hard to come by a lot of the time.) I lost 8lb in the first 6 weeks of the year but then I got ill mid-feb and it's all gone to shit. Trying to get back on it as I'd love to be under 14st by Easter, but just really finding it really hard to get going..

    I love this video and your view on your body it's so inspiring. In 2017 I lost 10 kg and I was soo happy and my goal was always to maintain this because I thought I was so much prettier because I was so lean, and now in 2020 i regained those 10 kg, a lot of my clothes don't fit anymore and I can't exercise the way i used to. I love to dance and i was dancing 3 times a week in the past 2-3 years, I also went running a lot and i took the bike to go anywhere, so i could eat a lot but maintain my body and now i regained those kilos and it's soo difficult to change my mindset. I know that exercising makes me happier and more efficient for uni and everything but its just really hard. I just want to tell everyone that you are great how you look as long as you feel confident and making yourself happy is not a thing that happens in a day, it's a journey and i love you so much emma for spreading so much positivity and awareness.

    hi, I just watched your first video, followed by this one. You are one of the first people I've seen who talks about food in a way that makes sense to me, and have spoken about things like respecting yourself and the body you have rather than flashy diets work out and diet plans. These videos have inspired me a lot, and I've learned some tips on how to set goals and work on myself in the right way. I'm starting my journey today and I really appreciate these a lot. Thank you and thank you for making it clear that its okay to make mistakes and to learn from them.

Eating 3,000+cals and not seeing that much of a change on the scale really helped me appreciate how eating lots of food is not a negative thing and we don't need to punish ourselves if we eat 'badly' one day. I am so excited for you! Can't wait for the next update and how your booty gains are going!

    Waw it hit me so hard when you’re talking about body dysmorphia. I have the same, but I used to be 18 stone and I lost 7stone in a year (in a way that was both mentally and physically healthy) after that I gained a load of muscle and I’m now an athlete in my sport but some days I look in the mirror and I still see me at 18 stone. Other days I look weak and thin and small. Other days I look entirely different. I had body dysmorphia before the weightloss but with the added rapid shift in my body it’s become so much harder.
    Totally relate measuring health and fitness on strength and how you feel. That’s exactly what we do in CrossFit. I still think you should try it 😁

    I’m nearly a year into my own fitness journey and I think the most important thing I have learnt so far is that the aesthetic goals may be great, but the way fitness makes me feel is completely unparalleled. If anyone is struggling for motivation I always try to remind myself before every workout of how amazing it feels to complete a workout. Focus on the things that make you feel good ❤️ I always have a little dance around my flat after a workout and it burns calories (yes) but mainly it makes me feel SO happy! Thank you Emma for this video, I have loved following your journey and I’m excited to see you flourish this coming year ❤️

      @@aimephillips952 Thank you Aime 😊 I finally found what works for me. Eating in a calorie deficit has been key on my journey & altering and adjusting calories as I go along. My fitness pal really helped to get my numbers straight we then made a spreadsheet.
      Here are 10 tips that have helped me;
      1. Have old photos around you which show you at your ideal weight look at them daily.
      2. Get yourself a Fitbit or another watch that keeps track of your weight in an app and a place where you can record all the food you eat daily. Counting my calorie has been key. It may sound tedious but this is a step that had helped me greatly.
      3. Get into a calorie deficit also. You can eat the food that you want just as a small portion or work it into your calories.
      4. Work out your weight and how much you want to release. You can use my Fitness Pal which tells you how many calories you should be eating to reach your goal.
      5. It is 80% of what you eat and 20% exercise. You can train all you like if you eat crap you wont release weight.
      6. Celebrate small milestones along the journey.
      7. Watch videos on youtube of those on a weight release journey to stay focused.
      8. At a time like this eat foods that will build up your immune system you only have one body look after it.
      9. Keep a record of your journey document your weight release from start to finish. Take photos as well sometimes you see the difference within photos then on the scale.
      10.Keep on going you have got this take it one day at a time to avoid becoming overwhelmed.

    I have actually got the same story! I haven’t really gotten very far with my goals, but have definitely maintained them! Last year I lost 7 kg. And this past lockdown year I’ve lost 1.5 kg. Not what I imagined, but I have been able to keep myself somewhat active most days. Which is a huge accomplishment, as I was really sedentary before that due to depression and such.

    I actually found your channel through that fitness journey video and loved it so much I subscribed. I am so happy I did, because even a year later I find the things you say so inspiring and I couldn't be happier for you!

    I found your channel through that video a year ago. And have stuck around since because you are sure light! And like destiny, because I just had started my ED recovery at a clinic here in Sweden, i felt like I was reassured to become well again. I needed to gain weight, but your mindset and self encouragement was suitable for me anyway

    This is just what I needed. The gyms in the south of Spain are still open and I go everyday but the motivation and my mental health are not helping. I'm just trying to be healthy, both physically and mentally. I completely agree with everything you said. I'm sending lots of love and hugs to you Emma and to everyone else 💕

    I have some much love and respect for you Emma 💜 I got major inspiration from you and after constantly trying to lose weight over the years I’d lose like 10 lbs and then give up, after watching your fitness video last year it gave me the motivation to stick at it this time, a year in to my fitness journey and I’ve lost nearly 3 stone and have a new love for life I’m so much happier, thank you so much for your honesty in these videos

    Thank you for the video Emma!! I’ve been here since you lived with your dad! Thank you for sharing your journey with us! I really appreciate you saying it’s more about changing your mindset rather than focusing on the number on the scale. I count myself as a runner but I’ve really lacked the motivation to go on a run and I really enjoy it! I’ve felt very disappointed in myself but like you said we should give ourselves a break we are in hard times. I work as a nurse in the NHS so I shouldn’t really give myself a hard time for working through this pandemic and giving myself a break. I know when I get back on it though I will feel so much better! Love you and love your videos you are fab and such an inspiration! 💕💕💕 xxxx

    Thank you for this! My fitness goal has been to do a pull up and I've been really down on myself for not being able to. But I have to remember I have only been seriously training for three months. I look back two years ago and I had such a bad shoulder injury I couldn't get my arm over my head. And now I want to try a pull up? That's amazing!

      That's an amazing goal! It's also one of mine so I know hard your first pull up is- let alone with a previous injury! Take your time and you'll smash it! I can't wait for you to hit it, it will feel amazing xxxxx

    Did you ever set fitness goals with Tim? I want to do a fitness journey with my partner but it's so hard because he has really bad habits so the tiniest change is a huge deal to him while I want to do so much more, does that makes sense?

    • @rachdoesmagic
      @rachdoesmagic 3 года назад

      you could do this journey together but set separate goals. Have 1 visual board, but split it in half, follow the same timeline but with your own objectives :)

      Don't let him hold you back and don't push him to do things he isn't ready to do because he simply won't stick with it. Do it by yourself for yourself. He may very well want to start joining you once he sees you thriving.
