@@MotoVibes I think you'll find they are more than a a little out! For example, at 2:09, you have Saint Gotthard Pass as being (and I quote) 2.091 m! Is that metres or miles? Either way, it's out by a HUGE magnitude!
@@Jer0867 i put the link in the description for every source for the height. Other sources confirm the height of 2107 meters above sea level incl Wikipedia- how to you get that this off by magnitudes?!
@@MotoVibes Watch the video again; the quotes of elevations are given as "2.091 m" and so on. It's quite clear to see! 2.091 m is less than 7 feet. I've worked in engineering for almost 40 years, so I'm quite familiar with the terminology regarding lengths, distances and height etc.!
@@Jer0867 now I see what you are getting at. Half the world is using a comma as decimal separator the other half a dot (like the USA). Pretty much all of Europe is using the comma including the Germany (where I am from) so switching to English from non native speakers this is what sometimes happens as it did in my indications of elevations. Usually the order of magnitude will be quite obvious as in this case to figure out the right number. This mix up of decimal separators is a lot more common than you think usually for translation reasons. Wikipedia has an interesting article on this topic if you are interested en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_separator
Great video, thanks for sharing. Grimsel and Susten are my favourites, Nufenen is great when coming up from the north, another nice ride is the Julier pass. If you check out my channel, there are quite a few videos. Subscribe and enjoy !
Well - I do both. I have long sections when I am enjoying the scenery but these videos are boring to look at. Many times I either ride and enjoy the road or stop to enjoy all of the scenery.
This is the historic road that they maintain with its original road surface - for faster and paved travel there is the St Gotthard pass or the straight shot through the tunnel - there 3 roads in total to cross the St Gotthard 😉
@@MotoVibes i get it is historic but i think safety should come first. Cobble stones are fine for side walks on pedestrian streets. I once came into a roundabout with my motorcycle in poring rain. 4m before the roundabout there was a crosswalk made of cobble stones. I didnt see the cobble stones in the rain and was on ghe ground at the speed of the lightning.
@@whiskeythrottle333 I like the cobble stone - no issues when it’s dry and there are alternative routes if someone does not want to go on the old and slow historic road. 😉
Thanks for your comment - I have a mix of different styles of videos on this channel. I am kinda trying different thing but I understand that not every video will cater to every audience - thank you for watching
Your videos are so professionally produced and edited! Id like to see a little more about your Lodging and foods. How is your awesome overhead filming done? Expensive drone?
Thank you very much 😉 some of the upcoming videos will have some more footage on lodging and food - I try to keep that part of the content somewhat limited. If I watch other riders content some times I find there is too much of that 😉
I use 2 drones - I have a DJI Mavic air 2 which is old now by current standards and likely will see an upgrade soon. The DJI is for all the landscape shots etc. the second drone is a Skydio 2 which is excellent in tracking shots - none were in this video but on the newer videos these shots are easy to spot. It’s like having a camera man along which is great since I am usually the only one with such camera gear even if I ride in a group 😉

I am planning trip trough the Alps from Czech Republic down to France on 1290 with my wife but would first week of May be too soon to do that?Any advice would be much appreciated
Keep up the good work 👏
top quality ;) chek Europe Travel pass
Europe Travel Pass thank you very much 😎
Very nice video. I don't know why 6 poeple dislike it? probably they don't have a bike😁
Thank you very much- I am glad most people are like you and liked it - good enough for me - cheers 😉👍
Hat keiner von euch Höhenangst, so na am Abgrund?
@@gammabyte5918 das passt schon - wenn man immer schön auf die Straße schaut 😉

Good video...but you have the elevations all wrong!
Thank you- I know I looked them all up - if they are wrong I hope not by too much then
@@MotoVibes I think you'll find they are more than a a little out!
Thank you very much Thomas - sorry for the late reply - the comment got stuck in the review loop on RUclips.
Tip: Sound off. The noise is terrible.
Too fast, I've just been there, you need 25mph/40km/h on the straits to enjoy them , you're not enjoying the views, you're enjoying the bends ! 🙂
Well - I do both. I have long sections when I am enjoying the scenery but these videos are boring to look at. Many times I either ride and enjoy the road or stop to enjoy all of the scenery.
Meine und meiner SMR ihre Heimat.
600km a Day😁😁
Ps: an alle die es betrifft.

Lucky you - schöne Heimstrecke 😉

cobble stones in 2023....not acceptable if you as me.
What's with the music and no engine sound!!!!! That's what i always loved about your vids. Sorry mate, i won't be watching anymore.
Albulapass is good too and the road of viamala 🛵
