No one thinks straight in life threatening situations and there is a lot of debris flying outward so if they did turn they would get hit by flying debris
You lose control when turning and would likely crash. The building was also huge and they were in a narrow space. Moving to the side would be ideal but as is said in the movie, he couldn't control the bike at that point.

Most Hollywood animated movies don’t have as much effort put into them because they’re focused on using cheap childish jokes to gain money, while Songs of War is a Minecraft animations series with beautiful lighting, atmospheric music, and interesting characters and plots, with no misplaced humor like in the middle of a battle or a betrayal. There’s usually only one joke per episode, which I think is good for a series with a more serious tone like SoW. It’s also what I based my old Minecraft skin off of, but we don’t talk about that or the videos I used it in. Both make me want to get amnesia XD

I think this movie is just too underrated, the only thing compared to despicable me(similar plot, one eye minions, villain turned good ) was that it’s character wasn’t sellable as merchandise :( they can’t earn more money.
I would like to assume that MetroMan has superhearing (part of the reason his hideout is on the outskirts of the city, so he doesn't have to deal with hearing nearly everything going on around him,) and can hear what's going on in the city because Tighten starts causing mass destruction, which tends to be *very loud.* MetroMan wants to figure out who he is as a person without the expectations of others sitting on his shoulders all the time. That doesn't meant he's gonna sit back and let people *die.* I really do think that he was using his super-speed (which, remember, is fast enough that time basically stops from his perspective,) to get any endangered citizens to safety during Hal's rampages, by moving them out of the way, moving flying rubble around where it can land safely, etc.,
If you look at Megamind after the disguise falls, he is wearing technological enhancements that are designed to imitate the powers of Metroman (but not actually match him in power). The disguise doesn’t actually grant powers, it just alters the appearance to look like Metroman, the powers came from the technology Megamind wore.

Why is the concept of turning instead of trying to outrun the building not existent in movies

How did Megamind get the powers of Metroman when he wasn’t in his Metroman disguise
If you look at Megamind after the disguise falls, he is wearing technological enhancements that are designed to imitate the powers of Metroman (but not actually match him in power). The disguise doesn’t actually grant powers, it just alters the appearance to look like Metroman, the powers came from the technology Megamind wore.
