I think that one of the reasons why there are less people playing ZZZ is because the bulk of the players that play hoyoverse games are those who use low end phones that can barely play the games like star rail, genshin or wuthering waves. From what I'm hearing you can't install ZZZ on those low end phones. Meaning hoyoverse are essentially cutting one of their main players especially in south east Asia where people tend to use less powerful phones.
I seen the argument in r/gachagames is that it's not only because of the animation but also an intentional size and system requirements as it reduces F2P players. They said most low end F2P players are leeches.

Most of the people will end up buying those monthly passes because it's cheap and can give them tons of pulling currency and those monthly passes Players are the people who can't afford higher specs phones. So in the end hoyoverse cut down a big portion of the players who have a high chance to spend money in ZZZ.

It’s my first gacha in like 7-8 years and I love it.. I don’t feel the obsessive need for spending ridiculous amounts of money on it like I did with others .. although I am sure my luck has something to do with that.. I’m hearing of people spending 300$ on trying to get guaranteed s rank pulls 3 times with Ellen and not getting her.. I got her within 30 pulls naturally .. I have all the characters except for 4 s ranks (Grace .. the wolf guy .. red hair hammer girl and the s rank electric maid) I even got zhu yuan or whatever her name is within 44 pulls naturally without a guaranteed A rank or whatever.. just had this random inkling to do a single pull when I finished a zero mission and got her 😮💨 unfortunately I missed out on Ellen’s weapon (for nekomatas instead which is fine.. ) and also got soldier 11s weapon too 🎉 all my other A ranks have all their specific weapons pretty much maxed with copies and all this with only spending $100 and my regular starting pulls (I’m only lvl 23 so I still have plenty of gifts to redeem still)
You could still try downloading if you pre-registered, at least I could(it said it was incompatible with my device but I still tried) but the game has been running decently well, save for some lag when first loading into zones(I have a Redmi 12 with a Helio G88 so I may have that CCP blessing active)

Zzz actually earned 3 million on first day compared to Wuwa's 500 k on first day but wuwa got 2+ million on subsequant days earning 10 million on first 5 days. Zzz is still the lowest comapared to other hoyogames like hsr (4+ m) and genshin (8 m). Should also consider that it has 50+ million download in a span of 3 days and thats pretty low and I expected a little bit more revenue considering those 50+ m downloads. Compare that to the fact that wuwa got to 30m downloads only after like a week plus(i dont rember clearly). Overall as expected for a hoyo game, it'll succeed no matter what

my biggest problem for ZZZ is the fact that you can't appreciate well the characters you pull. In every other gacha you either have open world/instanced exploration where you can use all characters, or lobby where you can interact with the characters. ZZZ has neither, you only actually see the characters for like a few minutes during combat and thats it. doesnt make me feel like spending money and pulling. and no, seeing their 3D model in the upgrade screen doesnt count, there is no interaction like in lobby based games

bro what are you smoking the game has a goddamn dating sim mechanic like, it's not really romantic (thank christ cause of all the goddamn lolis) but you literally go on dates with the characters the issue is that, like every other cool mechanic in the game (and the requirement to dodge to complete the missions) it's only unlocked after dozens of hours (like, grace's dating sim thing is unlocked after her character story, which is unlocked at like level THIRTY ONE) but holy hell if you're here looking at small cc's vids about the game's revenue you should have come across ANYONE mentioning it? that nobody seems to know anything about what's actually in the game is honestly the best proof that it's not doing so well playerbase wise
The reverse outcome happened for Wuwa where devs listened to the beta testers and resulted to rewriting of everything in the story. Which probably explains why the first few acts are its worst part. I'm happy It did pick up on later acts but some character stories didn't get include and some cutscenes just removed because of the rush in rewriting. So...we have the 2 sides, 1 company who wouldn't listen and cause their own mishap vs 1 company who accept feedbacks but may also include the bad ones

I TRIED to like zzz I even took a day not playing to come back and try it again but the TVs just take me out of the story. And it was so disappointing to not actually see the saving of people for nekomata's arc. I got to lvl 21 and strted the next story but i had to stop cause i just stopped caring 😢 wuwa and hsr will be my only gachas

I never paid attention to ads and went in blind. Love the TV puzzles. I don't think the issue is that the game sucks. I think people are upset because they held expectations that weren't met, which is a personal problem.
i think the biggest Issue with the game is the TV Mechanic, This Mechanic while being part of the story makes the story feel so disjointed becuase of the abrupt start and stop that you experience in the story really makes it hard to Enjoy. I am dealing with it cause its not that big of a Turn off for me cause i just view them as fun little puzzles to do now and then but i know a large majority of the community can not STAND the TVs. If Hoyo wants to appeal to a wider audience they need to remove the TVs from the story Commissions, Not remove them completely as i'm assuming the Developers entire Reason for the TVs existing was for them to be a Means to tell the story. However if the Developers want to draw back players who tried the game and quit like 2 hours in, they need to Do something about the TVs.

Well, that's a bummer. I am liking my time with ZZZ. I have hundreds of hours in Genshin, despite finding the world and plot kind of bland. ZZZ is hitting that style and intrigue I've been wanting from Hoyo for a while, so I hope they stick with it. It has a solid foundation that could really build into something special.

Okay. Disregarding how bad Google Trends is as a metric, another article came out saying ZZZ made around 24-25 million on mobile in the past 5 days. This is less than HSR and Genshin's first 5 days, but it really doesn't matter. Hoyo games make so much that even with ZZZ making a bit less still puts it above the rest of the market. It will probably get close or surpass 100 million in the first month on mobile alone. Which by the way, Wuthering Waves's has even made 100 million on mobile yet and it probably won't until August and September go by. Let's also add on the 50 million downloads in just a few days for ZZZ. By comparison, Wuwa took 20 days just to hit 30 million. Wuwa isn't gonna die anytime soon, but it's definitely not even close to ZZZ's level of success.
A few things to say. First off, I saw the article you were talking about, and it listed app magic as a source for that 25 million revenue. But when I check app magic, the game has only made roughly 10 million in 5 days. What makes this worse is that the article doesn't even show an actual graph from app magic to prove it, just word of mouth. Second, it's likely not gonna skyrocket to 100 million all of a sudden, the first few days of a banner always are the most profitable, and a week or 2 into that is gonna be a lot less. Finally as for the "50 million downloads" let's be real, the number was largely inflated since they were allowing people who fell far below the system requirements to download the game in the beginning, and immediately changed that, so now many people can't download it anymore. There's also the fact that hoyo does have a history with botting. Edit: for the downloads, app magic states that there's only 5 million downloads. That means pc and ps5 somehow would have the remaining 45 million downloads, and let's be honest, that definitely isn't the case.

I think first month it's expected that they'll make a lot new hoyo game drop lots of ppl will play and spend. If it can maintain that level of popularity and spending over the next 3 months is something else though. The gameplay loop itself once u finish he story is not that fun imo and unless they step up their character design massively idk...
I played Zzz like 7-8 times since launch. I slept, literally slept and woke up went to bed after like 5 out of 7/8 times, and the 2-3 other times, I had to leave it because someone needed me.. I will just say that. All that reading, all that puzzling.. oh boy
I tried it just because a friend is playing it and I find it so bad so far, I need to be honest. The TV thing was a weird choice, not really into the style of just loading into a room and killing mobs over and over. I don't know, it feels extremely underwhelming IMO.
other than the TV part of the game where you move a Bangboo from one TV to another, I personally think that, even if its not a game for everyone, i like the combat style of the game, how fast it is and how making combos feels so satisfying. Yes, i know yo have to make combos in genshin too, but how you have to make some combos in zzz to like stun an enemy or get more damage without depending as much in the abilities of the characters, makes it very good imo. MAkes it more skill-based than character-based (i dunno if this is a word really or not lmao) Again, the thing with the TVs should be (hopefully) changed and let players move more around the map and let them choose wich way to go (SPOILER: more like the rally game mode you unlock later) and maybe make battles a little longer, but the changes in battle will come in time considering tis just the first week and more content will be added later on, but for now, yes, it's not meant for everyone.

I liked the Setting and Character design. i still like it. but the actual gameplay makes me want to throw my pc out of my window sometimes lol. its so much filler etc. and the combat , which is decent isnt even really good either. I am disappointed. This game is not for me.

I don’t know why people are mad about the free pulls thing? You still get a ton of free pulls when u unlock gacha. They also have multiple codes and stuff in the mail. Tbh it’s just a pattern and just like with star rail people are gonna stop hating so hard and appreciate this. I mean there is plenty of of fighting game mechanics in the game and people are mainly upset right now about the in between moments from fighting and other stuff in game and the fact that they have to do JUST a bit of work to get the rewards that mihoyo guaranteed and even actually plenty more. Also the bangboo banner literally lets you pick which s tier you get which is a big W.

Will ZZZ improve will depends on how the devs sees the game competitor. As far as I know Kuro sees Genshin (possibly also Azur promillia and Project Mugen) as their direct competition because they are very similar in terms of genre. Thus Kuro has been working very hard to capture player attention. As we know that HSR dev has been listening and generous because HSR (a turn-based game) has a lot of competition on the market. For the case of ZZZ we know that it is an instance based combat game and we know that there are a lot of game with this genre on the market. So there might be chances that ZZZ will get a HSR treatment instead of the devs sitting on the laurel.
We have Jade, Navia, Nilou and Changli coming up Jade will certainly affect zzz sales and Changli will highly do so for the second half. Plus Hoyo has infinity money to market so they good but longevity it’s questionable since Natlan is coming up and HSR new world (Greek Inspired). These world alone can trend the whole game for weeks and I think wuwa too if they release a new region zzz can only show streets since Eridu is the last city. Zzz sales will be 70milliin ish for the whole month
ZZZ's mobile revenue in JP is already higher than Wuwa JP mobile revenue since release. So it seems ZZZ might get carried by JP whales. It is unfortunate that we might never know the percentage of PC players unless devs disclose it themselves or someone conducts a largescale poll.

i think game will do fine since it design to run and play well on Mobile and target audient , mechanics and thing is ez enough for mobile. tho i don't expect it to reach very high but may be around 10-20mil combine CN + global. but i still hate the TV and too much TV compare to actual gameplays i had fun with it but it not as drawing as other demanding games but it quite chill

Yes ZZZ just released and is in its infancy, but when compared to the gameplay, story and design of Genshin Impact and HSR, I cant help but see ZZZ as an overcompensating red-headed Step-child in the MiHoYo game library. The only positive I can give the game is when you get to the action in the game it is good but the gameplay segments are short and you are forced to go through everything bad about the game to get to them. Everything else in the game, the story, the horrible UI design, and the slap-shod terrible TV system you are forced to slog through before you get to the gameplay, is just bad.
To be fair to zzz in comparison to WuWa was really anticipated and zzz kinda came out of nowhere with that said I’m really enjoying my time with zzz so far
I mean no shade to the CN players, but you can only throw so many generic hero collectors gacha games with different coats of paint at the global audience before the bubble pops. A lot of my circle doesn't even really touch anything past FGO, and maybe GI if they are still playing that and opening up wallets for other games is a totally different beast. I think we can all agree that the action gacha genre is more on the riskier end, not to mention HSR really set a new standard even though it's turn based they basically did eveything right when it comes to taking care of the player base. WuWa has AMAZING gameplay, but shit optimization and no console. Meanwhile, ZZZ is just a new toy syndrome atm.
I know this is a few days late but i wonder if using google trends is really a good "barometer" or popularity. Mainly because China blocks Google by default.. and people in China search from it's Chinese name. So I think, using this to discuss overall popularity of ZZZ is a little misleading. I mean.. sure, you can use it to compare against Global players.. but it's a whole different ball game in the China. This is why whenever (insert CC here) uses Google trends to meme on ZZZ; it's really disingenuous because all the "data" isn't there.
0, I already satisfied with the free characters and I don't see the advantage of the dupes perk. The combat is great but it doesn't focus much on the specialty of the characters as well compare to WuWa

People are excited but disappointed? I have a group of friends (10 of them in total) We were all hyped about both ZZZ and WuWa. Not a single one of them hates the game, I'm the only mobile player out of them. We weren't disappointed, we are still enjoying the game. The game is not overhated, it's just some WuWa players and CCs ragebaiting people for views and money.

Ngl. I usually play and enjoy gacha games on release. However, zzz is the first game in a long while where im just not engaged at all with it. Didnt give me the same excitement and enjoyment compared to games like pgr, wuwa, hsr, genshin, nikke, afk journey on release. I enjoyed the aesthetic of the game as it feels retro, but the overall gameplay hasnt sold me.
As of right now in July it's doing better than GI, HSR, and WuWa with a more than $10 million. But I don't think GI, HSR, or WuWa have had a banner so far in July so that's not saying too much. Supposedly it's doing well on PS consoles... Still might be the very slow start (the actual gameplay) and the fact of releasing in a market WITH GI, WuWa, and HSR. Most of the audience will come from those games and there's only but so much even for a whales monthly budget. We'll see.

This game had the potential to be the most fun game of the year. With so many players waiting and looking forward to it, it's really sad that we are just getting let down this hard. I think that one of the reasons why there are less people playing ZZZ is because the bulk of the players that play hoyoverse games are those who use low end phones that can barely play the games like star rail, genshin or wuthering waves. From what I'm hearing you can't install ZZZ on those low end phones. Meaning hoyoverse are essentially cutting one of their main players especially in south east Asia where people tend to use less powerful phones.
I seen the argument in r/gachagames is that it's not only because of the animation but also an intentional size and system requirements as it reduces F2P players. They said most low end F2P players are leeches.

Most of the people will end up buying those monthly passes because it's cheap and can give them tons of pulling currency and those monthly passes Players are the people who can't afford higher specs phones. So in the end hoyoverse cut down a big portion of the players who have a high chance to spend money in ZZZ.

It's unique and brave, yet also doesn't has that "Special" Feelings other Gacha game has, I mean as much as you hate Genshin, you can't lie that when you first play the game, you felt like the game is quite different than others and is quite special, or Honkai Impact that feels very nostalgic to 2016-2018 Gacha game look, or even Wuthering Waves with its memorable Mechanics and unique Playstyle (being able to become a "pokemon" Of sorts)

It’s my first gacha in like 7-8 years and I love it.. I don’t feel the obsessive need for spending ridiculous amounts of money on it like I did with others .. although I am sure my luck has something to do with that.. I’m hearing of people spending 300$ on trying to get guaranteed s rank pulls 3 times with Ellen and not getting her.. I got her within 30 pulls naturally .. I have all the characters except for 4 s ranks (Grace .. the wolf guy .. red hair hammer girl and the s rank electric maid) I even got zhu yuan or whatever her name is within 44 pulls naturally without a guaranteed A rank or whatever.. just had this random inkling to do a single pull when I finished a zero mission and got her 😮💨 unfortunately I missed out on Ellen’s weapon (for nekomatas instead which is fine.. ) and also got soldier 11s weapon too 🎉 all my other A ranks have all their specific weapons pretty much maxed with copies and all this with only spending $100 and my regular starting pulls (I’m only lvl 23 so I still have plenty of gifts to redeem still)

Zzz actually earned 3 million on first day compared to Wuwa's 500 k on first day but wuwa got 2+ million on subsequant days earning 10 million on first 5 days. Zzz is still the lowest comapared to other hoyogames like hsr (4+ m) and genshin (8 m). Should also consider that it has 50+ million download in a span of 3 days and thats pretty low and I expected a little bit more revenue considering those 50+ m downloads. Compare that to the fact that wuwa got to 30m downloads only after like a week plus(i dont rember clearly). Overall as expected for a hoyo game, it'll succeed no matter what

my biggest problem for ZZZ is the fact that you can't appreciate well the characters you pull. In every other gacha you either have open world/instanced exploration where you can use all characters, or lobby where you can interact with the characters. ZZZ has neither, you only actually see the characters for like a few minutes during combat and thats it. doesnt make me feel like spending money and pulling.
and no, seeing their 3D model in the upgrade screen doesnt count, there is no interaction like in lobby based games

The reverse outcome happened for Wuwa where devs listened to the beta testers and resulted to rewriting of everything in the story.
Which probably explains why the first few acts are its worst part. I'm happy It did pick up on later acts but some character stories didn't get include and some cutscenes just removed because of the rush in rewriting.
So...we have the 2 sides, 1 company who wouldn't listen and cause their own mishap vs 1 company who accept feedbacks but may also include the bad ones

i think the biggest Issue with the game is the TV Mechanic, This Mechanic while being part of the story makes the story feel so disjointed becuase of the abrupt start and stop that you experience in the story really makes it hard to Enjoy. I am dealing with it cause its not that big of a Turn off for me cause i just view them as fun little puzzles to do now and then but i know a large majority of the community can not STAND the TVs. If Hoyo wants to appeal to a wider audience they need to remove the TVs from the story Commissions, Not remove them completely as i'm assuming the Developers entire Reason for the TVs existing was for them to be a Means to tell the story. However if the Developers want to draw back players who tried the game and quit like 2 hours in, they need to Do something about the TVs.

Okay. Disregarding how bad Google Trends is as a metric, another article came out saying ZZZ made around 24-25 million on mobile in the past 5 days. This is less than HSR and Genshin's first 5 days, but it really doesn't matter. Hoyo games make so much that even with ZZZ making a bit less still puts it above the rest of the market. It will probably get close or surpass 100 million in the first month on mobile alone. Which by the way, Wuthering Waves's has even made 100 million on mobile yet and it probably won't until August and September go by. Let's also add on the 50 million downloads in just a few days for ZZZ. By comparison, Wuwa took 20 days just to hit 30 million. Wuwa isn't gonna die anytime soon, but it's definitely not even close to ZZZ's level of success.
A few things to say. First off, I saw the article you were talking about, and it listed app magic as a source for that 25 million revenue. But when I check app magic, the game has only made roughly 10 million in 5 days. What makes this worse is that the article doesn't even show an actual graph from app magic to prove it, just word of mouth.
Second, it's likely not gonna skyrocket to 100 million all of a sudden, the first few days of a banner always are the most profitable, and a week or 2 into that is gonna be a lot less.
Finally as for the "50 million downloads" let's be real, the number was largely inflated since they were allowing people who fell far below the system requirements to download the game in the beginning, and immediately changed that, so now many people can't download it anymore. There's also the fact that hoyo does have a history with botting.
Edit: for the downloads, app magic states that there's only 5 million downloads. That means pc and ps5 somehow would have the remaining 45 million downloads, and let's be honest, that definitely isn't the case.

I tried it just because a friend is playing it and I find it so bad so far, I need to be honest. The TV thing was a weird choice, not really into the style of just loading into a room and killing mobs over and over. I don't know, it feels extremely underwhelming IMO.
other than the TV part of the game where you move a Bangboo from one TV to another, I personally think that, even if its not a game for everyone, i like the combat style of the game, how fast it is and how making combos feels so satisfying. Yes, i know yo have to make combos in genshin too, but how you have to make some combos in zzz to like stun an enemy or get more damage without depending as much in the abilities of the characters, makes it very good imo. MAkes it more skill-based than character-based (i dunno if this is a word really or not lmao)
Again, the thing with the TVs should be (hopefully) changed and let players move more around the map and let them choose wich way to go (SPOILER: more like the rally game mode you unlock later) and maybe make battles a little longer, but the changes in battle will come in time considering tis just the first week and more content will be added later on, but for now, yes, it's not meant for everyone.

I liked the Setting and Character design. i still like it. but the actual gameplay makes me want to throw my pc out of my window sometimes lol. its so much filler etc. and the combat , which is decent isnt even really good either. I am disappointed. This game is not for me.

I don’t know why people are mad about the free pulls thing? You still get a ton of free pulls when u unlock gacha. They also have multiple codes and stuff in the mail. Tbh it’s just a pattern and just like with star rail people are gonna stop hating so hard and appreciate this. I mean there is plenty of of fighting game mechanics in the game and people are mainly upset right now about the in between moments from fighting and other stuff in game and the fact that they have to do JUST a bit of work to get the rewards that mihoyo guaranteed and even actually plenty more. Also the bangboo banner literally lets you pick which s tier you get which is a big W.

Will ZZZ improve will depends on how the devs sees the game competitor. As far as I know Kuro sees Genshin (possibly also Azur promillia and Project Mugen) as their direct competition because they are very similar in terms of genre. Thus Kuro has been working very hard to capture player attention. As we know that HSR dev has been listening and generous because HSR (a turn-based game) has a lot of competition on the market. For the case of ZZZ we know that it is an instance based combat game and we know that there are a lot of game with this genre on the market. So there might be chances that ZZZ will get a HSR treatment instead of the devs sitting on the laurel.

Plus Hoyo has infinity money to market so they good but longevity it’s questionable since Natlan is coming up and HSR new world (Greek Inspired). These world alone can trend the whole game for weeks and I think wuwa too if they release a new region zzz can only show streets since Eridu is the last city. Zzz sales will be 70milliin ish for the whole month

Yes ZZZ just released and is in its infancy, but when compared to the gameplay, story and design of Genshin Impact and HSR, I cant help but see ZZZ as an overcompensating red-headed Step-child in the MiHoYo game library. The only positive I can give the game is when you get to the action in the game it is good but the gameplay segments are short and you are forced to go through everything bad about the game to get to them. Everything else in the game, the story, the horrible UI design, and the slap-shod terrible TV system you are forced to slog through before you get to the gameplay, is just bad.
To be fair to zzz in comparison to WuWa was really anticipated and zzz kinda came out of nowhere with that said I’m really enjoying my time with zzz so far

I mean no shade to the CN players, but you can only throw so many generic hero collectors gacha games with different coats of paint at the global audience before the bubble pops. A lot of my circle doesn't even really touch anything past FGO, and maybe GI if they are still playing that and opening up wallets for other games is a totally different beast.
I think we can all agree that the action gacha genre is more on the riskier end, not to mention HSR really set a new standard even though it's turn based they basically did eveything right when it comes to taking care of the player base. WuWa has AMAZING gameplay, but shit optimization and no console. Meanwhile, ZZZ is just a new toy syndrome atm.

Mainly because China blocks Google by default.. and people in China search from it's Chinese name. So I think, using this to discuss overall popularity of ZZZ is a little misleading. 0, I already satisfied with the free characters and I don't see the advantage of the dupes perk. The combat is great but it doesn't focus much on the specialty of the characters as well compare to WuWa

Not a single one of them hates the game, I'm the only mobile player out of them. We weren't disappointed, we are still enjoying the game. The game is not overhated, it's just some WuWa players and CCs ragebaiting people for views and money.

@@nyeindelta9290 you literally get 20 LIMITED pulls for simply logging in at the beginning and you can get enough primos by playing to get 180 pulls. its just that people thought you get 180 limited pulls in mail which is obviously not the case and everyone who thought so never played a gacha in their life. i am f2p and so far i got 130 limited pulls (if i count my primos) and 120 standard pulls and 100+ bangboo pulls and i still have quests to do. but yes, you need to play. but you also need to play in hsr, genshin and wuwa to get your pulls. no game will give you 180 limited pulls in mail lol

Ngl. I usually play and enjoy gacha games on release. However, zzz is the first game in a long while where im just not engaged at all with it. Didnt give me the same excitement and enjoyment compared to games like pgr, wuwa, hsr, genshin, nikke, afk journey on release. I enjoyed the aesthetic of the game as it feels retro, but the overall gameplay hasnt sold me.

As of right now in July it's doing better than GI, HSR, and WuWa with a more than $10 million. But I don't think GI, HSR, or WuWa have had a banner so far in July so that's not saying too much. Supposedly it's doing well on PS consoles...
Still might be the very slow start (the actual gameplay) and the fact of releasing in a market WITH GI, WuWa, and HSR. Most of the audience will come from those games and there's only but so much even for a whales monthly budget. We'll see.

Mhy games get 50/50 split between mobile and THE rest of the platforms which not only includes pc but also ps. This game had the potential to be the most fun game of the year. With so many players waiting and looking forward to it, it's really sad that we are just getting let down this hard. I was in denial and i've been playing this game daily for the past week to really try and force myself to like it. In the end, my disappointment is still immeasurable. Too bad.
