imagine someone's mom seeing this and taking their son's first guitar that they don't play as much anymore because they've since upgraded and just massacring it into a shitty shelf as a gift to them
Watching what appears to be a playable guitar being repurposed is painful. Granted, it's a very cheap guitar, but I'd rather see a beginner with it than this. I have an old guitar, Korean made, with a separated neck and broken heel that I was looking to do something with. Maybe a guitar shelf is in my future.
If it was a rare vintage acoustic, it would be a horrible travesty. However, if someone wanted to do this with an Esteban guitar, it shouldn't really bother anybody that much.
im a musician and im making a guitar shelf with an old guitar a school gave me (that unfortunately didnt work but i wanted it to see if i could fix it) we tried, and it didnt work so yeah
This is a very cute project but you could donate the guitar to one of the local junior schools or a beginner or a womens refuge may love it. I understand music lovers having a melt down but this is a really cheap guitar and there are literally thousands of them hanging around many homes just like the tennis racquet that costs the same.
Or maybe don’t throw it away or repurpose 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ it’s an instrument and has sentimental value. Why would you ruin a perfectly good guitar. God this is hurts...
Technically having it as a shelf keeps it so there not throwing it away and having it as a shelf would be something you use so it isnt just sitting in a room gathering dust
what if you couldn't play it anymore and it was sentimental you would want to be able to see it everyday and make a useful function out of it other than just sitting in your closet not being used or seen!!!!
I planning to build a shelf from a broken guitar. It was found next to a garbige pile, once I repaired but now broke again can it's not wort to repair. But demaging a beauty instrument just to make a horribe woodwork with tool that cost more than my half year salary... for a wealthy silicon doll it's good idea to make content, but for a middle class central-europian guy horrible to watch.
This is a waste of a perfectly good gutair. They literally could have just sold the gutair for about 20 to 30 dollars at majority of pawnshops and got the wood, hardware, and mount for maybe 5 to 7 less than what they claim is 15 dollars to build. And if anything went wrong while building the shelf least come out with a an extreem minimum of 3 dollars extra even after you spend money on getting the supplies.
the want-be- rich and the brainless! KITSCH AS KITSCH CAN! better you take a59 les paul -maybe a gold top-the goldtopshelf has more style,as this oscar schmidt/washburn"crap" sarc.- rockn rolly teletabbysociety!
It physically caused me pain when she took the saw to the guitar body. Oh sweet Jesus!
I would MAYBE understand if it was a super old guitar that was falling apart, but my god look at how they massacred my boy.

I can see if you get a really cheap one to do this with, but why would you use a possibly sentimental instrument

I personally think it's a genious idea. Just saying that's my opinion.

Unless it's a First Act guitar haha

The entire cost of this DIY is only $15. really? I bet you that guitar was over the 50 bucks and she has become it into deficient shelf.
