- Los Alacranes has been around ever since I can remember. Ramon "Chunky" Sanchez and Ricardo Sanchez are the founders of the group. They began their music making in the small town of Blythe California. There in the fields they began learning the traditional Mexican folk songs.
Their musical talent carried the two to San Diego where they decided to expand their music horizons by colaberating with Falco Jimenez (Texas Tornados) and members of Los Lobos.
They then started incorporating instruments to create their own unique style of music. Los Alacranes is known all over the world for their historical music. Loved and adored, they have truly touched the lives of so many people. I for one can say I am a huge fan of Los Alacranes they go way beyond Chicano Park. You must check out there other tunes like Mexiano Americano, Pocho, Maria Chuchena, Bandolero, Linda Chicana and my favorite Chorizo Sandwich one of the funniest tunes you'll ever here. There's fun song for everyone so hope you enjoy their music as much as I do.
Special Shout out to Los Alacranes keep up the tradition of merry music making. I am a huge fan of yours and want to thank you for sharing your wondrous musical talent with the world.
This is one of the songs off of the two Los Alacranes Albums that I own that I wanted to share with you. I hope one day I can get a hold of there record.

Chicano park is a park that represents our coulture weather north or south CALIFORNIA holds our chicano roots together. One as all and all as one. In order to receive the respect we deserve as part of this nation we must put our difference's aside in including our past. In these difficult times 2021 I'm not just calling out to one race, I'm talking to the poor...rich...all races... women...men...teenager... bloods...crips...north...or south#1...(oh) yes I put a number1 next to the south lol I hope I don't get judged. Anyways back to reality my name is Miguel A. Navarro I've been given the" impossible" so they say...It's up to all of us to fight together as Americans "STOP" and think what could we do not just to better ourselves but to make this world a beautiful place. God bless the world 🌍 🙏,

Recuerdo a Chunky QPD y cuando vinieron a Cuernavaca, Morelos. Y juntos Alacranes Mojados y Mascarones grabamos un LP fabuloso, "Levántate Campesino".
I am in an Ethnic Study class for Chicano/Chicana culture and let me tell you this song is just beautiful and has moved me like no other song has ever done before. I live in San Jose CA, where our Chicanos are heavy on the lowrider scene and its always so beautiful to see them, all gather up together. Sadly, not everyone can identify as a Chicano Soley based on the fact that they don't have a cool car or dress up all nice like one. But let me tell yall something, being Chicano is a MINDSET. it's what YOU believe in and the whole Chicano movement has made me realize there is nothing wrong with identifying as a Chicana. It's in my blood. I may be a guerita, pero soy Morenita por dentro!! viva la raza!!
Recuerdo cuando no nos permitian estar en el CHICANO PARK, VIVA LA RAZA VIVA SAN DIEGO CA.
Porque?????
That’s so not right. I remember being Chicano in the early 70’s in LA and we weren’t allow to do much bc we were seen as undesirables. Then the riots came thru our small Hispanic community of Wilmington California. My dad’s friend who owned a liquor Store on Avalon Blvd put up signs in front saying, I am Chicano. 😂
VIVA LA RAZA!
IM A CHRISTIANO NOW BUT WAS A BROWN BERET IN 1971.AND STILL REMEMBER CHINANO PARK. UNDER THE BRIDGE WITH MY BROTHER'S...

This song alone makes me Proud to be born and raised in San Diego at a time when it still had rich roots. Before gentrification began. Very different city now since 2012 a lot of Hispanic native generations had to leave. Nonetheless if you were there before all that you are one of the few that know San Diego for what it really was
