You have the right idea but I don't think you know exactly how to do an extended version of a song. You have to understand the basic music fundamentals to really get it right, otherwise, it doesn't set well with the ears. Just a critique for you. I recommend using a DAW system (which I am sure you did) but most importantly, find out the tempo of the song you wish to extend. And remember, most songs are either 2 or 4 count. Sometimes odd numbered and sometimes even 8 count. Anyway, I hope this helps
