I feel most people are misunderstanding what I meant when I said it provides an extra layer of protection. I'm not saying it's anywhere near as good as a case. It clearly isn't. But a skin can become a good extra layer to protect a phone from scratches on the glass back of a phone. My own preferred usage of a skin is with a clear case to get the best of both worlds.
I have a skin on my Note 8. I don't have a screen protector because curved glass protectors suck. I'll just replace my screen and glass when it breaks. Small scratches and nicks don't bother me. I do miss my oleophobic coating. I wish I can reapply it.
Skins on iPhone X cameras make the phone look cheap and different. The contrast between the dark camera lens and the skin just looks weird. To those buying a skin, do not buy the camera skin
I agree, skins are great but the only time I would use on is with at least a bumper case. I don't exactly have a good track record with dropping phones 😂 Hopefully dbrand will sponsor you someday
Alexandre Abi Habib hey, you’re in luck, dbrand just officially released their official grip TM official dbrand phone grip case so that you can put your dbrand skin on and still have a perfect, guaranteed, official fit with the dbrand grip TM dbrand phone case
The skins hold up well to water. Back when I had my S7 edge and I contacted dbrand to confirm if the skin can withstand liquid contact and the responded that it indeed can. I then proceeded to a full day of water park fun and the skin and even the phone survived!
In my opinion skins that only cover the back(glass) panel are great. However, when it comes to skins which rap the whole phone it‘s just painful. Painful to apply and for the eyes!
Will a dbrand skin prevent my glass phone from shattering WHEN I drop it? I doubt it. Maybe they should get into case making using their beautiful designs.
Will they have cases for certain phones, but glass usually breaks when it gets a chip and then the second time it cracks. Usually if its with out any scratches or chips it wont crack, and a skin is decent with doing that. Ive dropped my X multiple times and it hasnt cracked, with out a case etc. Given ya do hurt the sides a little (i have a small chip on the stainless steel band) but its alright, i mean small drops you should be fine Some are set to a 2.5 ft drop it should be fine
Their beautiful designs? Lol. It's not like they created them, plus the designs are just.. plain, carbon fiber, marble, etc. There are plenty of cases and brands. Most people, including myself, only know of dbrand because of the many sponsors. They're a good reputable company. Inexpensive with a good adhesive that will make the skin last. Basically... they should stick to skins and what they're doing.
I got a dbrand phone case and a skin and you are able to remove it and change it out if you'd like to wich i thought was kind of cool the only problem with dbrand was that it took a really long time to ship (Around 2 months) and they sent me the wrong skin twice one time it was the wrong color and texture and the other time it was just a different size and it did not match my S10+ but over all it looks nice, feels nice in the hand and the case protects the phone pretty well so I would also reccommend investing in both a case and a skin if you have the time. If you would like to "learn more" I recommend watching randomfrankp's video about them, but anyways i liked the video and you have a new sub.
Btw DBrand is coming out with a grip case, that is supposedly pretty protective and works with the skins (you apply the skin to the case and put the case on your phone)
JTim yoOooo! How was it? Was it worth it? Was thinking of buying just the skin bc the case was too pricey for me but if the skin is worthless then I’d have no choice but to go for case. What do you think of your skin?
Penelope Blanco It haven’t been shipped yet 😂. It says it will ship once the drop is concluded. But I’ve seen reviews on youtube about the dbrand skin and most says it is worth it.
Honestly, my black carbon fiber skin for my gold xs looks dope! Also, the xs shouldn’t shatter that easily if you got a screen protector. Mostly protects scratches and is aesthetical

I love dbrand skins. Their quality is amazing. However, it is a little pricey in my opinion, but I still love them. Nowadays I choose phone models that dbrand has. #teamdbrand
It's something you put on AFTER you smashed the back glass to cover it up lol They just can't look premium, they are essentially just STICKERS. I really have a distaste for DBrand, shoving ads on every youtube channel and sell something that cost them $1 at $20 pricing.
$15 dbrand concrete skin with a $13 Spigen Ultra Hybrid 2 clear case over it. Looks awesome on my new iPhone 8+ to me. Everyone I work with has a black phone. I’ve had black and gold phones before and just wanted a new look. I’m not touching that 2nd skin with the speaker cutouts either. Way too much work. Honestly nobody notices my new skin/case but me. But I love it and that’s all that matters.
a clear tpu case with a little bit extrusion beyond the screen is perfectly fine for light drops and your screen is safe without one of those bulky unresponsive built in case screen protectors
Just get a CASE... if your phone falls the glass still shatters under the skin.... or ball out and get a good clear case or bumper case as well as the skin
Shane McCarthy at least the skin covers the cracks 😂 i love them and have had them since my 5s but my dads s7 edge back cracked and instead of busting $20 to replace the glass myself i told him $9 and we can cover it up Now he has a skin and its great!
I just purchase full body clear protector for each phone I buy, apply screen protector to front, sides, back and camera lens wait 24 hrs then put in a favorite case I can rock it with knowing if it gets scratched, it's not the phone being damaged. I always wished Mfgs applied a full body clear skin to new phones so we wouldn't have to worry and then go spend more $ after dropping 1k on a device.
For me i just use skin to protect the back of my phone from scratches. Plus, my current phone right now is my first glass back phone. I thought not using a skin would be fun because I thought I'm going to use case all the time. But I was wrong. I don't like using case for my phone, cause I like the way the phone already is but I like to use film protector or a skin instead now. I only use case in certain situation.
I’ve bought a lot of Dbrand skins before and the ones I use the longest are the ones that are easy to put on lol. If it’s a hard one to put on, odds are you might mess up a little bit and if you’re someone like me, if it’s not perfect it’s getting ripped off. Just the back on the iPhone is easy enough and I love the skin I put on my MacBook over a year ago
