Considering the topic of this video, how about a video on the best DMR to use with a thermal? Using a FLIR you want to be adsing as long as possible to scout for targets, so stuff like ergo and arm stamina can be really important.
I guess duration of arm stamina would help. I’m usually ADS’ed for very short durations but much more frequently with thermals since I only need to quickly scan instead of spending time visually clearing areas. Time to ADS would be very helpful since I’m aiming in so much more frequently. If I’ll be sighted in for any duration I’ll be proned out so it lasts longer than 11 seconds.
Weight is the most important factor for ADS time. After that, it's physical position. Standing least, crouching more, prone most. Ergo has a influence, but a small one.
@@AgnotologyTV Weight is a non-factor for ADS time in tarkov. Ergo has a FAR more significant impact. It should be done with weight but it just isn't. Arm stamina however is weight
@@Gigabeef for sure, but I still think a video that finds out the absolute optimum set up for a thermal weapon would be cool. Also to consider is that if ergo is too low you get scope sway even if you are holding your breath.
This gun for some reason is the most comfortable "big" gun to use in my experience. It is my favorite for point firing, also the default scope setup is great for mid range - long range combat, and it just looks great on screen. When ever I use it it brings me the pure joy, and in my opinion it's worth the cost.
Yeah sometimes there's more to the "feel" of these weapons that you can see in the stats. For me it's been the RSASS, works super well with my playstyle

You can build a decent SR-25: 41 Ergo, 79 Recoil, 4.882 KG fully loaded with M61 cheaper (Blue LS, Vudu etc). Your video prompted me to muck around with this build a bit. Yes it is about 0.3 KG heavier and a touch more recoil, but it is cheaper and I believe a better weapon as far as time to centre (as you point out). These recent videos have been great and made me think more about weight and it's effect in my builds. Your M700 build got me through Tarkov Shooter 8.
Probably yeah. Not claiming this is the perfect min-max gun for stats and price together, but I've definitely enjoyed seeing the limits of all the 762x51 weapons this wipe & the low weight on the G28 intrigued me :)
Hey Gigabeef, I've been a fan of your RUclips channel for quite some time and really appreciate that you have been focusing on weight management in your recent videos. I have a video suggestion for you that would fit in that theme and, for me, be super helpful. We all know (should know) that a good rule of thumb for picking up and keeping loot is around 10k+ rubles per slot is good value. However, lots of items follow that rule but weigh heaps. It would be awesome if you came up with a certain value per kilogram that would help us see the value by weight rather than just by how much space it takes up. An exaggerated example of course is a tank battery. It's absolutely more than 10k per slot, but it's obviously way too heavy to be walking out of raid if money is what we are after. Anyways, I hope this finds you well and thank you so much for the content you create. With you around we get another source helpful, nerdy (in a good way), math based information. Which I find invaluable. Please keep it coming! Nutty
After this video I built an M4 under 3.7kg fully loaded and I have to thank you. I love the gun. I can ADS for days now and it helped me with peacekeeping mission and even shooter born in heaven. I used viper stock and mini monster or the TX15 suppressor and the STANAG mags.

Nice, I've always wanted to use the G28 but could never justify the cost (plus it makes this stupid sound every time you close your inventory). But now that you pointed out its light weight, I've been using it and is becoming my favorite DMR. PS. Do you think that sound it makes when closing inventory/loot etc, is intentional? What the heck is it..
This became my main gun once I got PK3 I did have a question: are you running ONLY m61? I've been running m993 because I accumulated 16 stacks of it over the wipe, but m61 is expensive, no?
Basically, I go 10 M61/10 M62 in mag 1 and then something like 7/13 for the other two and keep top loading the whole time. It's expensive but you don't have to shoot much with these guns, I'd argue it's probably the same as BP for "rounds used per engagement" if not less tbh!
