Honestly, this game really wasn't that bad. It was actually a Good GAME. Everybody compared it to DW1 though. I would have loved to have seen the other races come into DoW3. Necron would have been great.
@@gobbo60880 Comparing it to DoW2 wasn't the right choice either since DoW3 was really suppose to be a successor to DoW1 (which is why they brought back base building).
campaign sucked, only 3 races, only 2 gamemodes at launch, and no fucking necrons. This game deserved every ounce of backlash. Not to mention the horrendous decision to make this more akin to a moba rather than an rts
My knowledge of the Warhammer franchise is nearly 0, but as far as I had read, I see that it happened the same as Command And Conquer and the Tiberium saga, 1, 2 and 3, RTS with good campaings, and more factions, 4th game, a MOBA with only 2 factions and 2 boring game modes
i mean, dawn of war 1 went out with 0 expansions at first, THEN the expansions came in. Wonder why all these geeks expect 1231532 expansions as soon as it was released.
If they brought more factionson release or didnt drop it woth 12months and actually brought some dlc the game could of been salvaged easily few tweaks and more variety in multiplayer and would still be a player base, going to reinstall and replay the campaign while i wait for age of mythology retold or another worthy rts 😂

I have to renew PC and have been out of the genre for a while, but I was such a fan of Dawn of War 1 and 2, and in this time without a proper PC they have put Dawn of War 3 SO badly that I would love to play it just to see what happened.
If they had mod support for this game, it might be salvageable. The campaign sucked, but the MP was genuinely fun once you got the hang of it. It's a real shame.
It would be dead. Just like this game. The better question would be what would DOW3 be like if it kept the same formula, and the answer is that it would be one of the greatest RTS's ever made.
@@Kreasddjb Essentially they tried to recreate dow1 and dow2 in the same game while adding a bit of moba elements aswell it failed at both and was ultimately just a confused weird feeling game where nothing felt correct. Not to mention an insane amount of simplification of game mechanics which made dow1 and dow2 interesting to play in the first place
i tried to play this 2 days ago, bought a copy. but there was literally nobody playing the game. just always 1 single lobby which took ages to fill and then getting kicked from it lol.
I enjoyed it a lot. But dunno why it became boring after a while. The problem for me is taking the name of a franchise and change all the mechanics. That makes people used to that kind of mechanics not enjoying the new ones and then shitposting everywhere they go. They should have named apart from the DoW franchise and probably the game would had better success.

Well, I would rather play DoW: Soulstorm since the game mechanic is similar to this and even my potato pc can handle it.
