A lot of bands have failed in the tricky undertaking to combine melancholy and heaviness, but not LACRIMAS PROFUNDERE, who pull it off on "Antiadore" without breaking a sweat. The band stayed true to their sombre roots on this album, but has elevated the characteristic sound to new heights. Thus, even exceeding their previous masterworks such as "The Grandiose Nowhere" or "Songs For The Last View". "Antiadore" is heavy, melancholic, and touches upon the hidden feelings in the darkest corners of the soul. Ballads like "Still In Need" or "Head Held High" meet heavy breakers like "Abandon" or the punding "What I´m Not". The band revolving around Oliver Schmid Nikolas Schmid presents itself with a newfound energy and offer their most diverse and mature album! Goth Rock enthusiasts will fall in love with "Antiadore"! So, after a decade I get the sudden urge to listen to Doom and Goth Metal again and I come back to this song.. no regrets at all, this still kicks ass!
The Singer sounds like Ville Valo but looks like a Goth version of Chris Cornell.

Its pretty mellow bit with heavy riffs. I still think Sentenced has captured the true sound of heavy melancholy metal/rock. Bit lacrimas has pretty much nailed it. I hear all their inspirations and their own style. Rare for a modern rock band.

Pain is a life style, I never wanted, but which has taken all of me.
The first one to play is F.K.U. - Black Hole Hell and the second one that plays is The Sword - Cloak of Feathers (a favorite band of mine). They are both on the Napalm Records label so that's probably why they were played at the end.

Seriously, why do you guys need to compare singer? Ville Valo and Roberto Vitacca are as similar as a dog and a seal. Robertos Voice is softer and makes you feel relaxed. Ville is darker. but both are as unique as they are. Stop compare individuals and enjoy the music. they changed, because the singer changed, stop crying because of Chrisopher and celebrate, that they didn't stop making music and found a talented young man, that has a great voice.
