I'd love to see an attack and defend kinda deal where maybe the Cog have to hold off a base for a selective amount of time, while the Locus/swarm players have to do objectives to get inside and plant a bomb or something. Like taking Koth points to progress or opening doors. It'd have to be on different maps other then the default pvp ones, maybe something that uses the Escape map maker areas to build an arena or something.
I absolutely love Escape mode and have been having a blast with it for over a year now. Horde gets stale with the repeating sets of 10 waves. PvP is solid, but not as much fun as GoW4 and GoW2.
Beast mode should be fairly easy to introduce so it absolutely should be brought in. Aside from that for game modes I'd mainly say we should have Capture the Stranded back. The bigger issue imo is that there's no different way to approach the game modes we do have. Back in 2 and 3 things had a much more varied feel because people started with various guns. You could have different strategies and options arise from that. Now however it's all just Lancer or Gnasher. Makes it a lot more boring.
I want osok, beast mode, execution and wingman. A fun gamemode would be a small map with smoke/flash traps and melee only gridiron. That would be way better and funnier since no one is ever going for the flag
I still enjoy playing horde with friends but I just can’t get into the pvp multiplayer anymore I’m glad I hit masters once before and got the skins but my character feels like he’s pulling sleds now and like I’m learning a brand new game
To me, the biggest problem with gears 5 is their hit registration. I'm a gears head and high level multi-player player. I play 4 because it is fairly consistent with the hit registration. With 5, I can have a shot I know should be hitting and the game will say I miss completely or hit a partial shot. I know some troll will come in and say I just miss my shot, but I want you to add RIPCLIFF ORION and get me in a private on 4 and we'll see who misses a shot. I know when a shot should hit and when it shouldn't and how much damage it should do. Gears 5 is inconsistent with that so much and it makes it frustrating to play
the only thing i hate his grinding stars for my tour and most the time i cant enjoy versus or hordr since im more focus on doing my challenges to get stars and hit general
I started playing gears 5 just after the update of making it 4v4 but 5v5 sounds awesome and it would make the games not feel sluggish especially with the tuning
I think people keep forgetting that they changed it to 4v4 because of all the quitters. So if there's anybody to bitch at, it's your own fellow gamers, not the Coalition
I've been quit this game. It got boring for me plus Operations 4 was MUCH better than Operations 5. Operations 5 is worse than a letdown and a disappointment. I'll just stick to Gears 1-4 since I've always found myself having fun with those at least.
They need to bring back overrun or beast mode and add osok and other modes in the game permanently not just weekly things especially now that since you have the option to delete certain parts of the game so it adds room for more game modes
With the whole social playlist, it should be one playlist just called social and at the end of the match everyone can vote and it would be totally random. Like 4 votes, one could be TDM on gridlock and another could be KOTH on blood drive, ect. Kind of like how it is for player vs AI but just one whole playlist, just to funnel the players.
Even adding older game modes like wingman or capture the meat flag with the flag being an AI would be super fun about now, and I'm sure they could add twists too other game modes beside the capture or kill game modes.

Been playing since 06 however with recent games 4 and 5 I play for about 4 months solid then slowly dwindle down to not playing within 5-6 months. Due to lack of content.
I'd probably be fine playing Gears 5 multiplayer if I could play Overrun again, best part of judgement. Or I guess anything interesting, like Submission.
They should make a mode where each player is put into a separate lane. Have each lane filled with different horde style enemies/bosses to fight along the way and the player who can complete their lane the fastest wins. Kind of a Gears style obstacle course.
aw dude, you forgot to mention BOSS Horde mode that's been available for a week. It is so much fun! I hope they bring it back! anyone care to support a small gears channel? love to know opinions on it.
I feel like Gridiron should become a literal Football mode in a funny way that might actually make it fun where you can tackle someone or insta gib them like the Brawler class in Horde ATM imo Horde/escape/PVE has the biggest potential for fun new things Bringing back Beast mode and Overrun would be phenomenonal I honestly think a 10 man Beast mode where you are the swarm raiding villages of outsider Ai's would genuinely be fun and as you progress you start kidnapping people from CoG settlements I've also always wanted a Big Team Verses, where you can access vehicles (on the Locust/swarm side Vehicles can essentially be bigger swarm)
I do agree, but it's also more of a "depth of combat" issue. CSGO has basically one mode, League of legends doesn, Overwatch does, Dota 2 does but that mode has depth and skill so each game is different, gears has such bland combat these days that games feel stale quickly.
What are you looking for? We have Tour, Re-Ups now, Masters for every mode, PvE classes to level up and cards to upgrade. There is a lot to do at the moment.
Does anyone know if I'll still get my Diamond weapon skins if I was demoted to Onyx after one match? I'm not that great so getting to Diamond was a big accomplishment and I'm onyx 3 now so I wanna know if I can just be done or If i have to get it again.
A bomb mode would probably work with 4v4 only and they could make a shortage of weapons for the mode and or give each team a fabricator or something idk. I would like a mode like that as well.
What if for the 32 v 33 game mode they use that as a way to reintroduce overrun? For example you start off with cog gears, then can purchase dr1 Shepard’s, then guardians, then Armadillo APC’s Then for swarm start off as a drone, the. Can go pouncer, then scion, then carrier, and it goes off a buy system They could need to make exclusive maps for this mode, which could run into the gears judgment problem of separating attention and launching with “8” maps (4 for multiplayer, 4 for overrun) But if MS doubled down and gave them the resources and manpower it coulda happen, fuck that’d be amazing

lack of ranked modes is really one of the reasons why i barely play. Sick of KoTH and TDM. 2v2's solo is normally a bad idea and FFA is cool but cant carry ranked. Also King of the gnasher should be a permanent ranked mode
Been hoping they do large scale battles for a while now. They have all these unique creatures and vehicles they could use. They could make a walker assault game type but with the derrecks.

Interesting coincidence how this dropped shortly after Zii's latest vid, just noticing. I agree yes, Gears 5 feels hollow, has no identity or real direction and there is no short or simple solution, it needs a thorough rebuild and well structured path of progression for players to follow to get them engaged, I'm not pretending I have the answers but professional developer studio like TC or any other should find a way, or leave it in more capable hands before the franchise unceremoniously dies of tragic death. Haven't watched his videos in quite a while. This video was essentially a response to the recent Tac-Com community stream which I was actually invited to join in on but wasn't feeling up to it. Thought it was a good way to add my points without actually being on. I have come to like Gears 5 for what it is, but I completely understand why people don't. But that doesn't mean I don't want bigger and better things for the game. Here's to hoping.
@@TheRazoredEdge I do too, no matter how many times they (TC) made me angry I still play and support the game and will continue to do so, I guess us Gears fans are just that stubborn/devoted, most definitely I hope Gears finds a way to remain relevant, I don't think it's THAT hard either but needs work that's a fact. I think Gears of War 3 was the best one in terms of content and progression. Playlists of all different game modes were always available. And the rewards for playing were very rewarding, like the golden hunter character was a form of status. I also enjoyed the fortifications getting better the more you play, though i do enjoy the card system making it so that you can do more challenging difficulties, but i wish we could choose passives and have a bigger selection of cards, it would make for some crazy builds, and since it's not really a competitive mode, finding some broken set ups would be really fun, and that's what the game needs to be for me, a fun experience. (Also i thought the story had pretty cool potential but was lacking, in character development and in the sense that it kinda fucked up the timeline)
Overrun but 32 vs 32 ascog you start out as a generic gear then Locust you start out as like a drone more points you get during the match you can buy a boomer and and the Cog you can be a hero like Marcus just imagine that game mode
make a tag mode or maybe add something to escape like a race you would run through and you can shoot buttons or something and cause "problems" for the other players
I wish they left it at 5v5 but no parties in ranked, It should have been the individual player rank not the whole 5 man rank. Maybe if they added more rewards like in Gears 3, having to really grind to receive the medals emblems or character skin and weapon skins.
I can understand why. it's good to have it as an option though. People may play Classic for a while and then become curious about the classes and cards system as time goes on.
They should focus more on individual maps having there own story and mission . Gears campaign and cinematic draw us in so say for example nexus there a cinematic of us deploying in the grind lift you fight your horde but maybe you have to save stranded cog soldiers and bring them escort them threw the horde back to the fabricator if they survive you get extra xp ,, n each map has there own power weapon like hamer of dawn or mortar,, I dunno just feels stale I personally play pve so after playing it a lot it’s just same stuff over again,, even the ending the should have you evacuating them little cinematic bits make it more immersive
One thing I'm hoping The Coalition do is bring back other previous tour of duty characters back. For an example: UIR Officer characters, UIR Nomad characters, and Major Paduk. I really want them back for the people including me who either missed out on them or couldn't afford them. I don't want those special characters as well as others to just be gone forever. Please tell me I'm not alone here? :(
They could do a hunt mode where you play as the matriach and you have to kill all the other players or the players have to kill the matriarch and i realized you said this as i was typing this🤣
Anyone got any ideas for new game modes not like it matters but I just wanna see some original ideas from other people. Also thought classic horde was going have weapon spawns on the map like Gow2 & 3 but sadly didn't which doesn't make it truly classic but hey that's just me.
I'm working on a video similar that covers issues with gamemodes and why some should be ranked ONLY and others shouldn't be in ranked. Guardian and Gridiron should be ranked, FFA should be removed and put back in Social. Because while it's usually lone wolf players, Gears is a teamplay game and FFA is getting to be boring with secret manning and bot walkers in this new tuning. It's not nearly as exciting as it was last tuning and more players need to learn teamwork and that should help with better match making in modes like KOTH and TDM. *I get teammates who body block and knife me all the time or stand at spawn shooting into the sky.*
I once thought about a mode where weapons act like other weapons for example a snub can shoot like a boom shot, A lancer can shoot and damage like a mulcher, embar acts like a torque bow, scorcher freezes people, and the long shot shoots like a scorcher probably call the mode complicated weapons or tricksters of war
And also the thing about quick play and ranked is that you should reach gold or diamond to play quick play. So people could get better and stop complaining about the game
To some of you players, it got boring playing gears 5.. but if you haven’t mastered the maps yet then go for it.. if you Haven’t max out yours cards then play a little different.. I would imagine running horde with the same skill cards and then completing nexus or whatever maps and beating it is no fun.. try beating the maps with different skills set of cards that would be challenging for all gears 5 players out there... Same with escape also..
No no no! If ranked was all that was available, I would not play. Getting smacked down by a stacked team and then penalized for leaving is the surest way to destroy this game. The point about lack of variety is simple. If you only play one game, it’s going to get old no matter how many modes you have. Think about it. What ONE game provides endless variety? The more games you play, the more grateful you will be to have a familiar core experience when you put a Gears game in. There is no ONE perfect game. Every Gears game is a little different also. As you stated, each Gears game had a unique mode. Thank you for your civil discussion and not being just a hater. Thanks Pete.
Ranked isn't as sweaty as you think it is. And I agree with your point, I think a big factor for a lot of Gears players is that they play nothing else, which only does harm to their enjoyment.

I think gears 5 has gone into limp mode, basically the bulk of TC has moved onto their next project.

A gears pop esque game mode where you push territory control with the ability to call in a warden or a fleet of DBees would be fun.

lack of ranked modes is really one of the reasons why i barely play. Sick of KoTH and TDM. 2v2's solo is normally a bad idea and FFA is cool but cant carry ranked. Also King of the gnasher should be a permanent ranked mode
Been hoping they do large scale battles for a while now. They have all these unique creatures and vehicles they could use. They could make a walker assault game type but with the derrecks.

Wing man was one of my favorite modes... they should also make a NORMAL 8 FFA. Meaning not just gnashers only.
Most players didn't like the Lancer play in FFA

I agree yes, Gears 5 feels hollow, has no identity or real direction and there is no short or simple solution, it needs a thorough rebuild and well structured path of progression for players to follow to get them engaged, I'm not pretending I have the answers but professional developer studio like TC or any other should find a way, or leave it in more capable hands before the franchise unceremoniously dies of tragic death.

Haven't watched his videos in quite a while. This video was essentially a response to the recent Tac-Com community stream which I was actually invited to join in on but wasn't feeling up to it. Thought it was a good way to add my points without actually being on. I have come to like Gears 5 for what it is, but I completely understand why people don't. But that doesn't mean I don't want bigger and better things for the game. Here's to hoping.
@@TheRazoredEdge I do too, no matter how many times they (TC) made me angry I still play and support the game and will continue to do so, I guess us Gears fans are just that stubborn/devoted, most definitely I hope Gears finds a way to remain relevant, I don't think it's THAT hard either but needs work that's a fact. I think a mode I would like to see is a Battle Royal gears version, but I don’t think TC will be able to do that
I think Gears of War 3 was the best one in terms of content and progression. Playlists of all different game modes were always available. And the rewards for playing were very rewarding, like the golden hunter character was a form of status. I also enjoyed the fortifications getting better the more you play, though i do enjoy the card system making it so that you can do more challenging difficulties, but i wish we could choose passives and have a bigger selection of cards, it would make for some crazy builds, and since it's not really a competitive mode, finding some broken set ups would be really fun, and that's what the game needs to be for me, a fun experience. (Also i thought the story had pretty cool potential but was lacking, in character development and in the sense that it kinda fucked up the timeline)
Overrun but 32 vs 32 ascog you start out as a generic gear then Locust you start out as like a drone more points you get during the match you can buy a boomer and and the Cog you can be a hero like Marcus just imagine that game mode

make a tag mode or maybe add something to escape like a race you would run through and you can shoot buttons or something and cause "problems" for the other players
I wish they left it at 5v5 but no parties in ranked, It should have been the individual player rank not the whole 5 man rank. Maybe if they added more rewards like in Gears 3, having to really grind to receive the medals emblems or character skin and weapon skins.
Restricting the ability to play with friends is bad imo

Clasic horde is pretty boring for me tbh.
I can understand why. it's good to have it as an option though. People may play Classic for a while and then become curious about the classes and cards system as time goes on.
They should focus more on individual maps having there own story and mission . Gears campaign and cinematic draw us in so say for example nexus there a cinematic of us deploying in the grind lift you fight your horde but maybe you have to save stranded cog soldiers and bring them escort them threw the horde back to the fabricator if they survive you get extra xp ,, n each map has there own power weapon like hamer of dawn or mortar,, I dunno just feels stale I personally play pve so after playing it a lot it’s just same stuff over again,, even the ending the should have you evacuating them little cinematic bits make it more immersive

They're boring to kill. You can play against bots in Co-Op vs. AI
One thing I'm hoping The Coalition do is bring back other previous tour of duty characters back. For an example: UIR Officer characters, UIR Nomad characters, and Major Paduk. I really want them back for the people including me who either missed out on them or couldn't afford them. I don't want those special characters as well as others to just be gone forever. Please tell me I'm not alone here? :(
thats not likely to happen from Operation 3 onwards rewards that are earned in the tour are exclusive to that operation and then cant be earned again

They could do a hunt mode where you play as the matriach and you have to kill all the other players or the players have to kill the matriarch and i realized you said this as i was typing this🤣
Anyone got any ideas for new game modes not like it matters but I just wanna see some original ideas from other people.
Also thought classic horde was going have weapon spawns on the map like Gow2 & 3 but sadly didn't which doesn't make it truly classic but hey that's just me.

I'm working on a video similar that covers issues with gamemodes and why some should be ranked ONLY and others shouldn't be in ranked.
Guardian and Gridiron should be ranked, FFA should be removed and put back in Social. Because while it's usually lone wolf players, Gears is a teamplay game and FFA is getting to be boring with secret manning and bot walkers in this new tuning. It's not nearly as exciting as it was last tuning and more players need to learn teamwork and that should help with better match making in modes like KOTH and TDM. *I get teammates who body block and knife me all the time or stand at spawn shooting into the sky.*
I once thought about a mode where weapons act like other weapons for example a snub can shoot like a boom shot, A lancer can shoot and damage like a mulcher, embar acts like a torque bow, scorcher freezes people, and the long shot shoots like a scorcher probably call the mode complicated weapons or tricksters of war

And also the thing about quick play and ranked is that you should reach gold or diamond to play quick play. So people could get better and stop complaining about the game
To some of you players, it got boring playing gears 5.. but if you haven’t mastered the maps yet then go for it.. if you Haven’t max out yours cards then play a little different.. I would imagine running horde with the same skill cards and then completing nexus or whatever maps and beating it is no fun.. try beating the maps with different skills set of cards that would be challenging for all gears 5 players out there... Same with escape also..

No no no! If ranked was all that was available, I would not play. Getting smacked down by a stacked team and then penalized for leaving is the surest way to destroy this game. The point about lack of variety is simple. If you only play one game, it’s going to get old no matter how many modes you have. Think about it. What ONE game provides endless variety? The more games you play, the more grateful you will be to have a familiar core experience when you put a Gears game in. There is no ONE perfect game. Every Gears game is a little different also. As you stated, each Gears game had a unique mode. Thank you for your civil discussion and not being just a hater. Thanks Pete.
Ranked isn't as sweaty as you think it is. And I agree with your point, I think a big factor for a lot of Gears players is that they play nothing else, which only does harm to their enjoyment.
They took execution away... I still play gears 5 because the gnasher. But execution was the only MP mode I enjoyed playing serious
