We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.
Our house build is documented entirely on our main channel "Wild Wonderful Off-Grid" and our family life vlogs can be found on our secondary channel "Wild Wonderful After Show"

It is always so hard to lose a great friend.
Each dog I have adopted holds a special place in my heart, they are all family. One in particular, a Bull Terrier/ American Staffordshire mix, adopted me.
He was my shadow for almost 10 years...he has been gone now for 11 years...and I find myself sobbing as I write this.
      They are all special.
Each of them has a particular personality...
Your pain and anguish will seem torturous at times.
But you will heal. Your lives were made better by the love you shared.
I wish you healing and love.
      Joe.

As a rescue home for sick and elderly dogs I feel your pain. The sense of loss is sometimes overwhelming and it leaves a scar on your soul. We currently have 7 fur babies and like all the others, regardless of how long they share their lives with us we will treasure the priceless memories. Its hard to not shed tears of sadness when they leave. We have learned after so many losses to shed tears of joy for the time (always too short) they spent with us. They made a difference in our lives. All we can hope is we made their lives more comfortable in the end. Losing a freind of any type is never easy. Our hearts go out to you. Be strong, visit happy memories, laugh and cry. they are never far away as they live in your heart. Hold your chest and smile. They are there.

Nice to see the kids growing up and taking on tasks for themselves that tells me that you both are bringing them up properly. Beautiful video and it is okay to mourn foreman Chucky's departure he is smiling down on all of you.

Never forget that everyone is different. Just because you see kids doing something that you dont see as "proper" doesnt mean kids are brought up "properly"
Other then that have a nice day :)

Every time I watch your videos, I always look forward to two things : hearing Ellie laugh, because it’s filled with pure innocence and wonder…and seeing Chuck.
Chuck represents all that a good dog means to a family. Loyalty, unconditional acceptance, devoted companionship, good humor, the occasional odd smell and the willingness to be hugged almost brutally by small children.
I knew when I saw the title of this video that both of those things were unlikely. Children are resilient when they’re young and I loved hearing your baby girl giggling with the ducks. The world needs more of that joyful enthusiasm. God Bless her!
I’ve never felt so strongly about someone else’s pet, much less one I never actually met. I have lost a few really great dogs, it’s hard. And I cannot stress ‘hard’ nearly enough. My heart goes out to your family. May you find peace in this time of sorrow.
Bless you, Chuck! You made a family, and a lot of their admiring fans, very happy while it was your season to do so.

Hey Ace. I’m sorry Libby isn’t with you any longer. Lost my Buddy last year and it still hurts. No,it still rips my heart to shreds, it’s worse then hurting. It’s torture some days. I bet Libby was so special to you, and there will never be another like her. The thing about owning pets is that one day you and your friend will be separated from each other. Usually by death, and we have to accept that when we get that lil puppy that fits in our pocket or shoe, that we’ll also have to tell them goodbye one day. I’m sure Libby is missed, and I felt the pain in your comment. I asked myself if the experience of watching my best friend die, and not being able to do anything was worth it. I came to the conclusion that the love I shared with Buddy was worth the pain I feel now, and I wouldn’t change getting him for anything in this crazy world. I’m so sorry for anyone that’s lost a friend,a pet, and a family member all rolled up into one. It’ll get easier, but it’ll still hurt Ace. Keep on keeping on. RIP CHUCK,RIP LIBBY, RIP BUDDY

I’ve been watching your channel from the beginning, but this is the first time I’ve commented. We moved to a cabin in the woods a few years ago, and two years later lost our version of Chuck - our 15 year old chihuahua/corgi Simon. I know this pain so well and thank you for sharing Chuck with all of us. He will be so dearly missed and well remembered by many.

All our dogs that have passd over the years are buried with an almond tree in our-garden in the middle of France - our vet said this was a good way to remember them as you can talk to them as you wander round the garden - So you will never be without Chuckie a great character -

It broke my heart when Erin was crying It's so hard to loose a fur baby. I am so sorry. I am waiting on my soil erosion mats to get delivered. Then I am seeding my back yard again. So excited to see it worked. I guess I had confidence in your research because I bought the straw erosion blankets immediately after your video.

Sorry for your loss. It's hard and a lot of people don't get that bond and are like ours just a dog... they are not.. it's been like 2 1/2 years now since I lost my best friend and it still hurts every single day. Specially when she saved me from cancer but I couldn't do the same for her. I'm not super religious but I feel like she's waiting for me in whatever is after this life.
