    I'm not gonna lie, you just lit a light bulb on my head. And you've made me reconsider adding Houdini to my workflow. Thanks a bunch. We need more of these tuts, but most importantly, more of you.

    Really great tutorial! For a few years I was wondering if there was a way to do Houdini's 'for loop' inside C4D, and when I saw you do it, I really had an AHA moment, thanks for being so fantastic Tim.

    Still a long way to go for the c4d node system to be more efficient and refined. I really want to use it but it's all over the place. Coming from Houdini you learn to appreciate how advanced and at the same time simple to operate it is. But I'm feeling hopeful that Maxon will keep improving the node system. there's no other way it's just way better

    Beautiful tutorial, everything was clear. My opinion is that to make this type of parametric modeling more accessible to all, many more online tutorials are needed. I think maxon should do this content development with the help of artists like you.

    This is a very good video for the first touch with Scene Nodes! It's really great that you show off the different ways to interact with the nodes graph straight away, without getting too technical. This video is very artist orientated. Great work!

    Great tutorial. Fairly new to cinema, and especially node base geo, so this was amazing to finally see the power of nodes in cinema. Thank you!

    an important one that is missing is a node that can store any direct modeling edit done on an object like doing cuts with the knife tool, moving points around same as 3ds Max Edit Poly modifier.

    How lovely! I've been trying to switch from xpresso to nodes whenever possible, but the documentation on it feels lackluster and there are far too few tutorials on it. Scene nodes can be amazing once they develop it out properly(There's still a lot missing, other day I couldn't believe that there's no way to move selected polys/points/lines, or that there's no way to spline wrap) . Having a mini houdini in cinema really feels powerful, and also gives another reason for cinema users to avoid houdini cause it's too difficult lol.

      Yeah geometry nodes in blender don't have for loop feedback implementation yet, which makes cinema more promising to me as a houdini user. As a question: are you meaning you can't feed a selection into the graph to do translations? Because I know you can make your own selection sets with nodes..

    Lovely Tim! Do you know if capsule performs same as a scene node? eg. Having stacked capsules vs having them inside a geometry modifier? thanks

    • @Helloluxx
      @Helloluxx  Год назад +2

      Thanks Thanos. Scene nodes will generally always be faster as everything is created on the new node system. As soon as it is a capsule it has to interact with classic C4D objects. I assume a geometry modifier with all the nodes in one place is faster than stacking multiple capsules, but pure scene nodes will definitely be faster as there is no translation between the old objects and the new node objects. I would only suggest using capsules if they offer a feature that is not in the core C4D, in other words if there was a bend deformer capsule, it would probably perform slower than the native bend deformer.

    Really nice introduction.
    One thing I am trying, but I can't get it to work:
    Is it possible to restrict the EdgeToLine to a specific edge selection of the object? I am trying stuff with an "if" and trying to find something like "if edge is element of edge selection" then do EdgeToLine...

    Wow. Thank you! Thes geometry nodes are powerful!
    One question: How did you add the random node the wy, that it automatically is wired? When i do it (on my Mac) it does not do this. Do you have to press something while dropping it?

    • @bodobanali

      One more … on other nodes it works. atm it just dont't work with the random selection mode. Maybe a Bug …
