I love how you can sort of pair this song with Hornet's theme too, and its like a very aggressive dance. Hornet's notes are more elegant while Lace's has more power behind them. absolutely love it
I agree. Both Hornet and Lace's themes have this fierceness. Christopher Larkin has put a lot of thought, effort and love into composing the soundtrack. I'm sure we will not be disappointed.
Maybe this means Lace will be a bit more brash than hornet in personality, and fighting style. Hornet is very bold and brave, but still has an elegance to her. Lace, while still elegant, may be a bit snobby.
The time signature of this song is psychotic. It starts in 5/4 time, already unusual, but slips into 3/4 during the Call & Response at 0:15. At 1:13, it shimmies into some nigh-incomprehensible-to-lesser-beings nonsense that I swear to God is either 6/4 or 4th dimensional. Larkin is, without question, a Pale Being. Not by mortal hand is such music penned.
I'm sure you meant psychotic as a compliment. This track has a special vibe in any case. For me it captures that warm giddy feeling we felt having got all worked up playing as a child. But with the understanding we all took it seriously. At least that is the main impression it leaves me with. Sometimes I would get that feeling again during a fencing match, so taking into consideration where the track is from... Larkin is indeed without question a Pale Being.
hornet, probably the most simplest char design i ever seen in video game for a character. a mask, red mantle and a needle.thats it. yet she just attract everyone, she appear probably less than 1 hour in HK game but something about her just tell me she is a damn interesting character. and now she got her own game now lol,
I think it has to do with the sense of elegance she gives off. Mysterious, quick, elegant, deadly. Her red mantle is nothing like we see in ALL of the game. In fact, only the Grimm Troupe have any red color in them aside from Hornet. She stands tall in front of the Knight, and her needle, pointy, sharp and thin gives off this quick and deadly sensation to it. How she leads you into her arena into Greenpath, how her theme is, again, quick, majestic, dangerous, tense. The strings in her song akin to the strings she uses to attack you. The quick pace like the lighting speed she dashes at you and throws her needle forward. And may I say, Hornet Protector isn't even that fast, but for that stage in the game you're probably not completely used to the controls and Hornet is the first enemy so fast we encounter. (Hornet Sentinel is an absolute pain in the ass though). I feel this is why she's so memorable, so mesmerizing. Team Cherry did an absolutely astounding job with her.
Ah, I forgot to mention. Her voice. Her voice isn't silly or monstrous like other enemies we encounter. No. Her voice is determined, intimidating, strong. Full of energy at every attack she throws at you. Even when she giggles as she jumps backwards to take distance, it feels like she's DANCING with you.
@@gebdemedici agree, why hornet is memorable is how she stands out in the environment and how team cherry let her interact with the knight is a meaningful way but the design of hollow knight is generally pretty simple yet give each character enough distinction, the slender build of the mantis lord, the roundness of the dung defender and the false knight and the fluffy fur of the radiance

3- As a player in a videogame music band I join your recomendation, it’s awesome to do that! Points 1 and 2 were just wanting to hear an orchesrra version of the song and crying about silksong not being released yet :(

@@charless3484 That's awesome!
18:13 for my own future reference for ending a session's battle where i'll be using this music. Thank you for such the lovely extension.
When you find out your music teacher plays Hollow Knight and is waiting for the sequeal.
Squeal? Do you mean sequel?
@@goddessdeedeebubblesofimag7789 Yes
@@henryarguelles602 -you left the a in-
you dropped your 200th sub, king.
Absolutely seamless! Thank you, I didn't know how much I needed this! 💕
im already really hyped for this game but im equally as hyped for the banger soundtrack
Awesome, thanks dude!
Team cherry said that you can do a taunt, which can make hornet say “git gud”
I found the interview! ruclips.net/video/6n3pFFPSlW4/видео.html
Source?
Source??
We need source.
The Source, Fister, we needs it!
Give me the source
I can't believe this game is coming out within the next 12 months.
this aged well
@@samwilliams7975 lmfao
It's never coming it was just an elaborate prank
thank you so much for making this so that I don't have to press play again every time the song ends
you don't have to
How can i feel nostalgic for a song of a game that has not been released already...
Because we've been waiting so heckin' long we feel old realizing it was announced FOUR YEARS ago.
Johann Sebastian Bach? Ludwig van Beethoven? No!
Christopher Larkin! Here is the best composer of all time!
Truth. Your soundtracks for Hollow Knight and Hollow Knight: Silksong are just beautiful!
That is also the beauty of the matter. In addition, This is used for a boss, so it will probably be backed up with a lot of hatred too.
Tchaikovsky just fucking dies, Christopher Larkin has murdered him
*yes i know Tchaikovsky is already dead don't come after me*
This song is just to epic and well made, I can’t stop listening to it.
Well, glad to see another italian HK fanboy like me, good job btw!
Ah, yes, this video, my way to rekindle my Silksong hype all over again
be honest with yourself. you are still listening to this song to this very day. we all have hope that silksong will come out one day, even if you are part of r/SilksongIsntReal, you still believe in it.
This track is phenomenal.
0:00 - 18:37 is amazing
Agreed.
Everything about Lace's theme is good.
Yeah... that part was pretty dope.
The game hasn't even been released yet and I am already so excited for the soundtrack!
I LOVE SO MUCH THIS SONG THAT MAKES ME CRY OF EXCITEMENT!!!
We back here after the new trailer to remember this is still a banger
The editing in this is nice
This is something I'll play for my grandkids while I'am telling a story.
who else boppin to this during quarantine
Man this was such a fucking good game cant wait for Tales of the Pale Wyrm. Such a banger game, any one who hasnt played it pls do. Trust me
This is extended really well, great job!
You wanna extend it further? Just put it on loop, then you can pretend your actually fighting the boss!
Put damage and healing sounds in the background from the E3 demo occasionally to
If you want to feel like your fighting her, then you only need to loop the first five seconds
Imagine they give hornet something similar to the pantheons in silk song and at the end of one you go to the first room where she fights the knight, the player recognises it and the knight jumps down
this song has been available for so long I'm getting nostalgic listening to it when the game its from isn't even out yet
I cannot tell you how many times I have put this song on and just let it run. I can't wait for this song to be complete with the sound of battle cries and attacks.
I love Christopher Larkin's musical mind.
stay strong brothers and sisters,
we are closer every day
Can't wait for this game to come out! Not gonna be too long now,.. hopefully
:feelspkman:
💀
Oh my god something just dawned on me. This music is made with STRING instruments, god Larken is a genus.
ok who would dare dislike this its amazing
Silksong delayed, guess we'll just have to keep listening!
Idk why but the character design of lace feels beautiful
Graceful
I love this 112% / 100
u mad
While hornet hears whatever theme is playing at the moment, for everyone else in the game the only theme they hear is hornet’s
Im late to this but the amazing differences in hollow knights music being how the knight views the bosses and the world dark sad sometimes powerful imposing themes like the mantis lords themes having a royal yet dangerous feel to it while this theme feels like it flows like silk with energy and pride showing how hornet views lace like a warrior similar to her fighting with pride to probably protect her kingdom whatever its called, the music also has this feeling like hornet or lace are enjoying fighting each other
Yeah, I'd say I've pumped 2-3 hours into Silksong from this video alone
One year away!
This aged like milk.
Like milk
Had this on repeat while cooking 👍thank you lace silksong. My dinnar
I just want this game to come out man
heck yeah
This is so cool. It gives me like, fantasy seafaring vibes.
Ok this is a perdect boss theme for my TTRPG, thank you !
It took me forever to notice where the loop is. This video is so seamless!
For some reason, I saw shipart of Hornet and Lace on Insta lol.
_-like, so far they've only tried to kill each other in their one interaction, but that somehow equals romantic chemistry I guess--_
Always with the shipart
That's honestly something I could see myself shipping lol
When did the fandom get so ugh like this? I remember when this was just a small game with not many followers
@@lucabalsasalsa It's still a pretty good fandom, for the most part. There's just a vocal minority.
@Alessandra Pons I think Lace is gonna get hot with Sharpe. It's kind of like Mothiva and Zesp from bug fables.
Lace is like hornet fight but you are hornet, she is fast and you need to react quickly like in hornet's fight in first game.
doing gods work
If I get to hear this, I won't want to beat Lace in 2 minutes. This song is so frantic yet beautiful.
Grande Giannino, stima totale
I LOVE THIS BLOODY SONG SO MUCH!!!!!!
Every time I listen to this extension, Silksong is 18:37 minutes closer to release.
I have a feeling that the first 20 times fighting Lace I might enjoy about... 30-45 seconds of this song.
Watch me, kalima.
Oh ok I'll watch you *git gud*
i can't believe an italian like me creates art like this
