    I highly advise a trans pressure gauge too - If you lose fluid/pressure and are under power you will smoke your frictions in seconds which means a trans rebuild. Hydraulics is the only thing that keeps the applicable clutch packs engaged so if you catch the pressure drop fast enough and get out of the throttle there is a good chance you will save the trans and be able to fix your leak roadside and continue on ..... or minimize the internal damage if it is something like a pump or valve body

    good tips here people !!
    I used a Veepeek bluetooth adapter and Carscanner ELM OBD2 app on an Ipad - less than $25 and you can build your own panel and page like the scangauge does with more customization.
    My primary page is exactly what you have- all the critical info ... RPM, trans and engine temps, trims and transmission input and output shaft speeds, throttle pedal position. Also run a separate trans pressure gauge too

    Been watching your videos for about a year since shortly after I bought my 03 Bounder 35R on a W22 Chassis. After watching last week I ordered the scangauge 3. I set it up similar to yours and found out my LTFT B2 is high at an idle (10.3) but is fine under a load. I didn't think there was an issue with my 8.1 because it runs great. Now I know I need to do some digging. Thank you for the video!

      Your very welcome if your lean on only 1 bank then make sure you don't have a exhaust leak on that side, also you might swap o2 sensors from one side to the other and see if the problem goes to the other side if does then order new ones but only use this one / OEM amzn.to/3X0muSL call or text if you have any questions 606-875-0125 Kevin

      Hi Kevin. From our earlier chats, I cleaned the MAF sensor and did the full throttle test, and it worked great. I took a six hour trip a week ago and watched the fuel trims. Bank 2 was still a bit off, so I thought I would replace the o2 sensors using the ones you recommended. Tried to do the replacement this morning. I have a kit that has three different sockets for o2 sensors. Even after using acetylene to heat up the stub, the sensor screws into it would not move. I even put a hose clamp around the bottom of the socket to keep it from spreading open, and it kept trying to round off the 7/8" hex. I have that project on hold. I'm afraid I may have to drop the exhaust to have better access. Ughhh. Any ideas?

      @@waynestella3576 Sorry your having a hard time with getting them loose. I pulled mine some years ago with no problem maybe some PB blaster might help maybe spray while hot and pull it into the threads? Let me know how you make out. check you doughnut gasket that its not leaking that can mess with your trim numbers. My number 606-875-0125 Kevin

      Yes plugged up 24 7 but after a week the 8.1 will slowly drain the battery. I have always had a trickle charger setup. Call if you like and I can explain my setup.

    I just bought one of these. Hooked it up to a 8.1 vortec engine on a 2002 W22 chassis. I can not get any of the feul trims nor mass air sensor guages. In your video you appear to show the unit finding all of these autmatically. But I get none of them with my unit.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One more thing, when I get one and get it set up, I may have to have Ann drive so I can safely watch all the information presented on the Scanguage 3.:)

    What is your opinion on using non ethanol fuel, and/or injector cleaner additives? Do you think these really keep the injectors operating most efficiently? (I've been using them, but not sure just how effective they are)

    • @ktoutdoor
      @ktoutdoor  2 года назад

      Sure non ethanol would be great but I don't seek it out my self I just get 87 octane and go. Now injector cleaner can be a problem / the kind that you dump into you tank as it can break loose the varnish that's in the lines and tank then end up plugging up the injectors I know a guy that cleans injectors for a living and he told me he sees this all the time. Now there are injector cleaners that you hook up to the fuel rail no that "might" be a better option.

    This might be a dumb question, but here goes, if the battery voltage is OK does that mean your alternator is working properly? BTW, I just bought an 05 Itasca W24 look almost just like yours and I'm learning a ton from you, so Thank You!

    Just bought a scangauge 3 yesterday. My oil pressure is reading zero on the 1.22 update. Also stft bank 2 is like -6 sometimes at idle. At my ltft for both banks are at 2.3 at idle. Havent drove the rv for a while. Any idea if thats okay. I see yours are sitting at zero at idle.
    Thanks.
