    Here's a tip for anyone using the centering tool, put it above your card accordingly and measure the borders individually. That way, you get an accurate assessment instead of trying to place it in the center. It has worked very well for me

      @@PikaPikaPapa Sorry another quick question from me but would you ever still clean a card if you don't spot any smudges or dust on the card after shining it with a 30x-90x magnifying UV light/LED light?
      I'm looking to grade some cards slightly on the expensive side for the first time but don't want to risk damaging them as much as possible 🙈

    Amazing advice beginning to end. After 30 years+ in the hobby, and countless disappointments with PSA, you actually said relevant things to change my procedure. Especially the surface aspect of grading. I think that is the most overlooked, and the absolute key to consistent returns. The real game changer, which I have been extremely leery about, is the intermediary service. Now it seems a ridiculous thing to NOT do. Many thanks sir.

    • @PikaPikaPapa
      @PikaPikaPapa  9 месяцев назад

      Thank you so much man, PUMPED you enjoyed it!! You are not alone, surface is hands down the #1 most overlooked part of the pre grading submission process. To this day I'm still amazed at what I see under the lighted magnifier!! I've been using the same intermediary for a long long time and they are incredibly professional with years and years of experience. Finding the right one is key (I use GotBaseballCards.com). Appreciate you and hope you have an EPIC weekend!!

    Great video and info thank you. I heard PSA cuts the side of the card saver completely off to remove the cards, so they don’t risk damaging it trying to pull it out with their fingers like you were saying.

      You know I’ve heard they do that now too!! I’m not sure what I prefer the risk of fingers or the risk of a blade LOL!! Either way I’m a creature of habit and I still submit the way I showed in the video but it might be unnecessary moving forward!!

    I didn’t think I would like this video but did. I bought a few graded cards from a mixed lottery hobby box store. They were graded by CGC and the surfaces were bad. I am contemplating cracking them open to clean and resubmit to PSA. They are oldies with a surface of 4 / 5 / 6. If the person sending them in for grading did not clean properly it could increase the value by a large amount. Take care and looking forward to the discord

      They also have specials for ETB and boxes for scarlet and violet preorder on gamenerdz. They do a reorder on feb 2 nd for around 109 per box, much lower than 160 msrp, even if the prices just stays at msrp that is a big score.

      Thanks man, I shot this at least 5 times before I was happy with the talk flow and content so hearing you enjoyed it makes it worth while!! I’ve done some crack and resubs in the past, it’s like doing surgery with a stick of dynamite BUT in a situation like yours the upside can far outweigh the risk and if I can do it I have no doubt that you could as well. Discord will be in the next weekend video!! I’ve set an alert for the PreOrder restock, to your point I can’t see this product NOT performing well at a $110 purchase price. You rock my friend, have an awesome Sunday!!

    Incredibly informative. Question: regarding the microfiber, say you have 30 cards to go through for submission, would you recommend sessions of for example 5 per cloth, or have you found in your experience the one cloth per card a rigid rule?

    • @PikaPikaPapa
      @PikaPikaPapa  5 месяцев назад

      So glad you found value in the video!! That’s a great question on the microfiber. I don’t conscious have a rule or standard in place but if a card requires a little extra attention I swap out immediately after. I never want to risk transferring something from one card to another!! Great question!!

    Do you use the same process for textured cards? Are the microfiber cloths safe for textured cards?

    • @PikaPikaPapa
      @PikaPikaPapa  3 месяца назад

      Yes I use the same process for textured as well. The cloths won’t damage the surface unless you put too much pressure on it. I describe it as light dusting. Awesome question!!

    What’s the best to clean a stubborn fingerprint on a card? Do you take the lens wipe and carefully apply some moisture then use the microfiber cloth?

    • @PikaPikaPapa
      @PikaPikaPapa  Год назад +1

      I always start with the least amount of moisture possible so start with blowing hot air using the straw and wipe with micro fiber. If that doesn’t work use the lens cloth but give it a good squeeze to get excess moisture out and use that and a micro fiber. If all of that fails then use the lens cloth straight out of the package and immediately wipe with microfiber. I’ve had success at all three intervals just depends on how stubborn that finger print is!!

    Do you still have to write the service on the side of the box when shipping to PSA? I’m shipping out tomorrow and I’ve watched some videos where people write “economy” on the outside of the box. Not even sure which one I chose or where to find that…sorry probably a dumb question. I’m good with everything else

    • @PikaPikaPapa
      @PikaPikaPapa  Год назад +1

      Not a dumb question at all! No, you don’t need to write it on the box. You should choose the service level when you fill out your Online Submission form. Also, print out a copy of the Online Submission Form after you fill it out and include that in the box and you will be good to go! Just make sure the cards are in the box in the same order as they are on the form. If you have any more questions fire away!!

    Hello I have a question hopefully someone can answer. PSA Grading charges in the “declared card value” for anything over 500$. Is the declared card value referring to pre-grade value or the after grade value?

    • @PikaPikaPapa
      @PikaPikaPapa  Год назад

      Great question!! Declared value is based on after grading dollar value. It’s a bit of a guess but you can use the PSA website and look at the APR tab for the card in question and that gives you a solid idea of actual prices realized for various grades.

    • @DSpiveyx

      @@PikaPikaPapa thanks for the great reply! So if I have a baseball card worth 100k at a PSA 10 I would need 5k usd to get it graded?

    • @PikaPikaPapa
      @PikaPikaPapa  Год назад +2

      @@DSpiveyx if you believe the card will grade a PSA 10 and the comps are $100K then that would be the level of service you should use. You can declare any value you want but declared value is directly tied to the insurance level applied to the card. Also, if you sub at a lower declared value and it grades higher then anticipated PSA will contact you. Those are happy emails 😊.
