I have this kit. I’ve been waiting for someone whom I trust to build it. I’m sure I’ll enjoy all your commentary and direction. Thanks for all your hard work!

Nice. Looove that seat and the whole cockpit is looking really good - the extra printed detail you made is neat. Looks like a lovely kit. I look forward to their Vb/c which I’m sure they’ll produce in future.

Your Spitfire is looking absolutely superb so far, looking forward to seeing it progress!
Thank you for the video, it was super helpful as I have just started my version of this kit this week. Mine is slightly complicated by the fact that I can't paint and build it up properly for some while as I have a bairn on the way and my painting apparatus has gone away for the time being; however, my aim was to get all the parts cut off and have as many glued into sub-assemblies as I could manage to make the painting process as simple as possible. It is testament to the detail but simplicity of this kit that it has taken me two days and I have nearly completed this, which is far quicker than I ever expected! It looks like it is going to be really fun to paint when I finally get the chance to!
Looking forward to their 109K-4 coming out some time next year. Not typically a variant I would go for but because this Spitfire has been a dream I would buy almost anything of Kotare's based purely on their company ethos and how it translates into their model kits. I'm really excited to see what projects they decide to tackle down the line - a P-51B and a Typhoon in this spec would be unreal!

That's and incredible cockpit. Well done. They should sell that cockpit as a standalone kit!

As usual Wil an excellent, inciteful analysis of the cockpit area of this kit. I have the early version unfortunately I am now up to stroke number 2 which has me unable to build only much simpler projects. Although I will never build this model now it's great to sit and listen to you explain your techniques and methodologies. All the best.

As always love your output, I became addicted when I saw you liquidize the Belkits Ford WRC! Good honest reviews.
totally agree about engine. To get it to fit in that scale in the correct size and to have engine covers which are so thin they would be moldable was a great call by kotare.

As I understand it their next new kit is a Bf 109 K-4. For me there are a few things that absolutely exemplify what Kotare are about: no rivets showing on the leading edges of the wing - every other kit gets this wrong; the sprue attachment points on the propeller assembly not being on the blades; the small depressions around the fasteners on the underwing radiator simulating where thin sheet metal has deformed; the fuselage spine eliminating a major seam; the wheel well walls being one piece where other kits would have 3 or 4 to align. And it goes on...

No. The next one is a Spitfire Va. It's on their website.

@@TheMikeCooper Hi Mike, Kotare have announced a 1/32 BF-109 K4 in development for late 2024 or 2025. I’m anxiously waiting for it.

@@TheMikeCooper When I said 'new kit' I meant not a Spitfire variant - I'm hoping we'll also see a Vb/c (+Trop). The 109 isn't on their website but they've announced it and have released some CAD images.

Agree about spitfires - beautiful plane but they all look the same in brown/green/grey. There are some good personalities to pay homage to, so you get a connection with the pilot, rather than the colour scheme. I'm doing mine as one of Geoff Wellum's birds as I've read First Light twice and was astounded by his descriptions of flying Spits. Helps that he flew two main planes; one with the B scheme to make it look slightly different. Look forward to part 2!

That was lovely modelling. Your 3D printing was excellent. Also, thank you for your walk-through and discussing your strategy and thinking. I have, like many other people, one of these lovely kits in my stash. You have really helped me here.
The “six pack” is name typically given to the basic six instruments for instrument flying, not IFR. Remember, most IFR flying is done in good visibility. Virtually all RAF aircraft had the same basic six arranged as follows: top row ASI, A/H, Altimeter and turn and slip (not co-ordinator), direction indicator and VSI on the lower row. This helped enormously when training into a new type.
Accumulator - The 1940’s name given to a battery.
