Folks, I am 73, I have met many Bluegrass groups and country groups from Johnny Cash, Bill Monroe, Conway Twitty , Dolly Parton and others. I only wish to say, I am old now, and Jimmy Martin, was a great Bluegrass/Country singer, player, performer who deserves the highest honors that the various groups have. Grand Old Opry and all the rest.
Do what is right, honor him as a distinguished member. Thank you

J D agreed! I am 83 and had the pleasure of buying Jimmy Martin a drink in a bar right next to a theater where he and the sunny mountain boys were playing in Wheeling, WVA hosted by WWVA. Then saw him many times at various bluegrass festivals during the the ensuing years. A great performer! All the greats are gone but new greats keeping up !!
Dolly Parton is not Blue Grass.

Crowe on a Banjo is really Bugle Call Rag; Red Rooster is She's Comin' Round the Mountain; and Run Boy Run is Fire on the Mountain.I know that's the way they were listed on the album, and I have no idea why Martin used those titles.

The reason for the titles is for one reason don't have to pay royalties, another reason is red rooster and run boy run are actual words within the songs, and lastly when jd crowe hit the scene with jimmy martin he pushed jd and his music and basically told all the folks listening, this is crowe on the banjo!! Hope this helps!!

Dude, it seems like a third of this is "Comin' round the mountain" (middle section). Too repetitive. Otherwise, it's a great mix! Not sure I'll keep it on rotation because of that one song driving me crazy and lasting forever, though...
