Redemption is defined as an essential concept to both religious and moral thinking, and it is crazy how a lot of people in this day and age have forgotten about it. In a world of unfeeling monsters who actively choose to thrive off of a human suffering, we oftentimes forget that there are many who were lost at some point who learned from the errors of their ways and came out of that experience as a better person. Hearing Big Country's struggles as well as his redemption arc gives me hope that most people are inherently good at heart, even if they didn't know it at the times mistakes are made. It doesn't mitigate the pain that was caused at the time, but it brings a humble perspective to the struggles that one goes through to reach that enlightenment, and it is ultimately a learning experience for those who went through it and for the ones who choose to listen to their advice. Everyone has their personal battles and mental illness is no joke, but you are not alone, even if life has you feeling like you are sometimes.
Interesting podcast! It's good to hear from some of the Sun City's more interesting characters. I agree with Big Country, it sucks that El Paso is slept on when there are so many different folks with a unique story to tell!
