Thanks! I might grab that insert. Quick question: So I was removing the driver's control arm and someone suggested undoing the dog bone mount and then using the stock jack horizontally pushing the motor forward to get clearance for the front control arm bolt to come out. I did this, but the problem is now the motor won't move back into place so I can line up the dog bone. Any ideas? Should I undo the transmission mount for more swing? I don't know why it didn't just go back.

I guess that is one way of doing it (what was suggested to you). When i replaced the front control arms and i noticed the driver’s arm big bolt would smack the transmission… i took apart the trans mount and jacked up the trans just enough for the control arm’s bolt to clear. So I never had to deal with the dogbone alignment issue you are having. You MAY have to loosen up that trans mount (make sure you support the weight of the engine/trans on that side safely before proceeding) just to get you enough play for the dogbone and trans mount bolts to all line up and get thread started… then tighten it all down in place

@@turbospool thank you sir, I've done the transmission mounts before on the mk4 so they look similar. Came across something saying putting the car in neutral will actually allow more movement out of the engine-Can't say I understand why though. Haha. Thanks for the content! My kid has a mk6 Jetta so I've watched a bunch of your videos.

Actually work time was less than 30mins. That included filming. On the Mk6Jetta it was cake.
