In my school district, in elementary and junior highs....kids were signed a week to help out in the cafeteria....in high school it was a volunteer list you could sign up for. The ladies all cooked from scratch and gladly shared recipes. They'd even help you pare it down for the size of family you had. Those ladies could really cook! Now, school cafeterias get a lot of frozen stuff, all rotten produce, and industrial sized cans of fruits/veggies. All of Alisha's processed ingredients just makes me want to gag. Not to mention they are so expensive vs. making your own.
Our uk school cafeterias went back to basics after a campaign by a tv chef so nothing is processed anymore just home cooked type meals and it’s great. Your school district sounded amazing!! Alicia would definitely benefit from following the old recipes, I personally love the old style school desserts 😋
