The a3 8p is underrated. Especially the petrol variety. OK, they are more or less a vw parts bin collection of parts but mine has been trouble free for 320k km

I bought a A3 8P 2.0TDI 170 Quattro in 2019. Since then I've spent at least 3k in maintenance and I still have stuff to fix. It's ridiculous stuff like the windscreen wiper mechanism being seized; you have to replace the whole unit including motor, costing over £400. Needed four springs and top mounts, new radiator, new brake discs and pad... the list goes on. It's not cheap to fix these cars.

Hi, I own a 1.6 TDI with 110000 miles and my car regens when it needs to and the engine runs fine. I think if you let the regen do its thing and do motorway driving it's gonna last. The only thing i dislike is the EGR valve as I've had to replace it, but it's not as expensive as the DPF were that to fail.
