  • Beloved Community,
I wholeheartedly honor Brother Hill and I honor you. No disrespect was intended in my previous message; everything I shared was the truth. Sometimes, the truth can be a hard pill to swallow. If my first video caused you any offense or sadness, please accept my sincere apology.
My intention has always been to speak the truth. These recurring situations raise many unanswered questions. For those on the ground in Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, and other places-why are they not telling us the truth?
There are certainly many teachable moments for the diaspora to learn how to survive and thrive in Africa. They should know that Africa is not all daffodils and roses. The roses have thorns. We need established protocols and networks that are honest. Right now, I call BS on this individual mindset. Those who cling to it will self-destruct on the continent.
I believe that the truth can better prepare repatriates for their journey. Brother Hill spoke the truth to other truth speakers, and I respect that deeply.
Gone but never forgotten. I will share your full story until I leave this earth. Your life will not be in vain. Farewell, soldier-another angel has gained his wings.

We certainly kept it real sis.
Thank you for your truth. When we speak our truth we are free. I agree none of us is exempt from life. When we face our truths; we take back our power. Now I know why you are strong and I appreciate you all the more.
      Thank you!

My condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in eternal peace. As a Gambian, this breaks my heart. May his soul find eternal rest. Thank you for your honesty. You are spot on about Gambia.

Thank you! He was a cool and funny guy and the way we saw other human beings matched. My mother was Mandink/Fulani. I love Gambia and Gambians. Yet we must be honest, when we talk about our global culture.

Beloved. These so-called groups in Gambia only invite people who they click with. There is nothing on the ground seriously addressing these systemic and social nuances in Gambia. If you don't think like them, act like them, and agree with them you will not be included or invited.
Where are the developers, activitsts, teachers, investors, capacity builders, and professionals? Why are the skilled developers not on the ground? Will there ever be a diverse afro-centered group that is multi-dimensional and can manage the complexities of growth and development. We need global african leaders who will come to the forefront. We need warriors and not church mice.

Please stop this nonsense, it has nothing to do with truth to power or being transparent. This has nothing to do with secrecy but more of respecting those that passed. We all have personal issues, but you want to open his book after he passed and transparency of his life. Talk about your problems openly and be transparent so we can assist you to be a better person now, not an example after you pass. Are you connected to the Diaspora community here or just when it suites your youtube likes? Have you shown up for community meetings or just show up when there's a video op??? Have you ever been to a funeral and they made that persons life transparent? What about respect for the family??? I'm so glad you were his friend and not mines!! I hope you find peace in what you are doing. Smh

We will learn about Africa and African Americans in Africa with or without your input. If you don't like it, don't watch the video. If I see something I don't like, I don't indulge. Secondly, tell your story about our brother. I will respect your view(s) and honor your rememberance. This is Ali and it is nothing to be ashamed about. If you are asking me to lie; it will never happen. It's all about speaking truth to power. Without truth power cannot exist. So you are the kind who lie about how people lived their life and fill eulogies with false realities of a person you never took the time to know? Drafting cookie cutter eulogies is an issue for Africans. Lying about how a person lived their life is living in secrecy. I would love for you to share what you know about him and the relationship you shared. Perhaps he had a different relationship and experience with you. We honor the decease with the memories we created with them. What you won't do is try to control or silence my truth. LASTLY, This is who he is and how he lived his life. He dealt with it and I accepted him for who he is and what he represented because that's what he valued the most.
You don't know Ali at all and you don't know me. It sounds like you are skilled at minding your business. Brother keep minding your business instead of protecting the nation and it shall be well with you.
And yes to all your questions. But the community is wishy-washy and like a social club. I don't engage in rubbish or mindless talks. Is the community problem-solving in these meetings, what has been implemented, how has it structurally changed the diaspora community outcomes, what locals are involved to advance these conversation, who are the key stakeholders, who has benefited, have you created spaces for structural and systemic change, what reforms are on the table, and why is a so-called brainstorming session a video opportunity? You jokey and have misplaced priorities. This is the reason repats don't get involved in cliques or mindless clubs. Nope, I will never participate in mindless work for our people migrating to the motherland.
