Alesana formed in 2004, but they didn't release their first EP until June 24, 2005.. Which they did with a then-no-name record company in North Carolina. No one outside of maybe an upwards of a hundred or so people in the music scene in NC knew who they were until their first release in 2006 by the same record company that got a bit bigger. Not that there's much of a reason to mention this, too, but that specific art style for shirts wasn't really popular until late 2007, early 2008 at best, with it not hitting peak interest untill 2009/2010. But wait, it gets better. So, the shirt says "The love.. The Agony... The Torture" and if you look this up, you can find the shirt which has more lines on it "There's no guarantee we'll get out alive" which is a line from "This Is Usually The Part Where People Scream", which is from their 2008 album, Where Myth Fades To Legend. But before anyone can say "Maybe they played it live before then", yes, however, the song itself references the series "Heroes", which was on between 2006 and on. This would still place it well outside the supposed "2004" window claim.
i recently just watched this whole commentary, as well as the ones for the dirties ans operation avalanche. i usually dont listen to commentaries but mj and the whole team are so funny and smart
Alesana may not have peaked until later and the shirt may have a lyric from 2008 but i love alesana and am glad its in a movie so irdc if its not perfectly accurate
