Just bought the 2020 F450 Platinum. Picking it up today. Trading in 2018 Lariat F250 SD - Have a 42ft Fifth wheel needing to haul on upcoming vacations. The F250 has a short bed compared to this beast. Although it's been nice, the 20K pullrite swivel 5th Wheel tow hitch is nice, I believe that with this 8ft bed I won't have the problem of turning radius limitations. Went with the 27K Faith Wheel hitch kit. Super excited.
I enjoyed your 2019 side by side comparison with the 2020 F450 Platinum. You mention the stiffer ride difference between the F450 and your F250. That of course is due to the greater number of leaf springs on the F450 for greater towing capacity. Also, you mentioned the smooth shifting on the F450. That is due to the new 10 speed transmission for 2020.
Cali Moto TV yeah you can’t get them through Ford Dealerships we have a few importers who bring in most od your large trucks. Ram only just started releasing big trucks here recently
Cali Moto TV most of the farmers and outback guys drive Toyota utes. The small amount of f450 trucks go more to guys with excavation equipment, maybe rich people with race cars or huge race boats or rich people with 5th wheeler horse floats or caravan 5th wheelers. They’re too expensive and fancy for most of the outback fellas
Also, you mention the steering on the F450 is looser compared to your F250. That is likely due to the new steering control system aided by the rear wheels for the 2020 model.
It will seem looser due to the wider front axle especially on highways. The front end has a hard time figuring out which lane to stay end especially in the truck lane where ruts are more prevalent.
The biggest thing to mention here and why a 2020 is better over a 2019 is ultimately the transmisson. All the other stuff is just cosmetic (how ever I am disappointed with the interior color option on the Platnium). For someone like me who has 55K on her 2017 F350 SRW and have towed more than 35K of that, this is an upgrade worth paying for. Also I am pushing the limit with a SRW with my LQ 3Horse trailer towing 5 States away at times. I considered a DRW back then but couldn't give up the ability to use a drive thru car wash if I wasn't getting something better out of the deal. Now that I figure my next trailer will likely be bigger than my current the 2020 F450 is on my radar for sure for the transmission, turning radius, and the assisted steering. Now all I need to figure out is what color I like it in best. All the features I enjoy the most on my 2017 are still there so I know I won't be sacrificing anything.
@@HunterWillHartley truth!,thanks for mentioning this!, this is the main reason I am now considering Ford over Ram , the engine changes that they did make it a more reliable engine and now on par or maybe even now a lil better than the 6.7 Cummins but also paired with the new 10 Spd transmission that did very well on testing and is getting great compliments now in its real time use,(even the one they designed for GM is doing well) its clear to me that the 2020 is not just superior to its own 2019 model but can pitch a good debate win on the top truck for 2020- 2021, again I seriously thinking of Ford now maybe if I can catch a good sale......
Nice review. I prefer F350 over F450 due to the front axle and springs on F450 are more capable than ones on F350 that give more rough ride which is seen in this video.
Its funny cuz its all perception, if the 2020 came out in 2019 and the 2019 came out in 2020, it could pass for the new model, its just because we say its the new 2020 makes u feel like its the new look
I've heard in certain areas, trucks can cost less. Like diesels/trucks in New York or (NYC) cost alot less than here in Texas. I don't mean to ask anything too deep and personal , but what's a platinum 19 and 20 going for in California?
@@CaliMotoTV No, I am observing that they are the only manufacturers to do it. They've made the Excursion. They've made the 450 and I am surprised Dodge has never followed, despite already having the 4500 and 5500 models already. . . .a 550 (Ford) or 5500 (Dodge) would be nice. . .
@@CaliMotoTV Yeah, not the point and you know that. But you know what, it's your channel. If you don't care about it being accurate I'm sure it'll be fine.
This is one of the greatest comparisons that i've seen, very in depth/detail. He definitely knows what he is talking about
Thank you sir!
Love this review so much. Thank you!!!!

I’m 99% positive I bought the black f450 you drove in this video! Love it so far!

Great vid! Love your attention to detail between two seemingly identical trucks to give your viewers the best description of the differences.
I guess it's quite randomly asking but does anybody know of a good website to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Cassius Kashton Flixportal =)
@Timothy Ryland thanks, signed up and it seems to work :D I appreciate it!!
@Cassius Kashton you are welcome =)
$88k nice. They’re $200k here in Australia

The motor is almost completely redesigned. The consider it a generation 3 motor. Not just the transmission.

Thanks for your review. I feel more comfortable buying a 2019 new if the price is right.
Got one today 😀 the 2019
Nice video. Can you measure them and compare heights front and rear? Also what’s the weight limit on those power deployable steps?
Sold me on the 4 cup holders 🤣
If changing the Lights from Amber to Clear.. why not change the red fender light as well?
this was entertaining as hell :) subscribed
Why 4 Wheel Drive on these items again?
My 2019 F450 has three memory settings.

is that registration cost per year or a one time thing? Also what other charges are there in California when buying an f450.
@@CaliMotoTV what all "toys" do you have?
Ford's answer seems to always make it look bigger.

Nothing like watching trucks can’t afford :(
It’s my dream truck
I agree with you that you said the 2020 head lights you don’t really them I like the 2019 better
The trucks are great 4x4’s
look at the passenger seat vibrating side to side. Is that normal?
@@CaliMotoTV look at 14:33 in the video. the passenger seat is rattling side to side. I'm sure you felt that as you were driving, no?
Yes it normal
Yes its normal
Ford F 450 is the truck of my heart be it platinum or raptor 450 is 450.
🔝
Are the f450s wider than raptors overall ?
Cali Moto TV in the front is what I meant
On the thumbnail you have the 2020 F-450 over the 2019 and the 2019 F-450 over the 2020.
@@CaliMotoTV Just saying man. It could be a little confusing for those that aren't aware which is which.

Your not gonna see a big difference in the trucks cause it’s the same generation people expect it to be totally different
Cali Moto TV ofc they are I’m just talking to the people who except more out of them you know what I mean
The way this guy says 20 20
I think the color is a natural clay color.
Does this house come with its own zip code and mail box. Will the government be giving them to your homeless people?
