@@thedoitallguy99 Caeleb is indeed the fastest seed with 46.96... but it doesn't go by the 4 year gap. The time dates back to July of 2019, at the beginning of the qualification period.
Kyle Chalmers is still dangerous with his acceleration in the last 25m. In terms of acceleration, Chalmers is better than Kliment Kolesnikov, Alessandro Miressi and Popovici. It will be a thrilling race to watch.
Chalmers had a strong backend, so did James Magnussen back in the days, however as a 16 yo, impressive and curious what he will swim in Tokyo, he is a solid 200 freestyler too
His 200 will be scary as well in the years to come, 1:44.6 at 16 and it seems like he is still figuring out the best way to swim it for himself. I see a 1:43 from him in the next year or 2 and 1:42 within the span of his career in my opinion. He may challenge biedermann WR
@@TheTechAndScience bro what are you saying, obviously dressel is worried, will he lose? No But just imagine a guy 6-7 years younger than you being almost as fast as you. Popovici is scarry bro
The 100m free in Tokyo is going to be very tight. Apart from this teenage prodigy from Romania, there are also the young guns from Russia and Italy doing 47.30s and 47.50s. Kyle Chalmers may not even get onto the podium in Tokyo.
@@codaddicted1429 yes, this fellow looks incredible as he excelled in 2 strokes, both backstroke and freestyle. He has already stamped his mark on the backstroke sprint events. Freestyle is not his main focus but looks like he aces it as well.

Now he has the world record 💪

Gonna be a battle

Watch Popovici now.
Nope, not anymore. Popovici has the fastest back half now.
I hope the pressure doesn't get to Popovici at the Olympics.
Tokyo it's a bonus, Popovici's target is Paris.
I wonder how much he tapered to go 47.30 also

Solid performance at the Olympics but no medal.

lol of course he is worried.
The guy that went 46.9 worried about the guy that went 47.3? Maybe, probably not much. Man hasn’t even been fully tapered yet.
