Nicholas' wife Shannon (who also makes incredible music), a few people from reddit, and myself are all looking for a lost Nicholas Ridout album called "Gone and Lost My Heart". It may be a long shot, but if any of you folks happen to have this album or may know where we could find this album, it would be greatly appreciated! Leave a comment to get in touch with me. Also, in case anyone didnt read the description, go buy his other music here: nicholasridout.bandcamp.com thanks :)
Video was amazing kept my ruined attention span throughout and showed you're not all that but you are all that and I had to go listen to Ridout after this ofc
This reminds me of music I'd hear far away from any major cities on AM radio. This isn't fuzzy with static like those were, to the point I couldn't hardly tell what was being sang. But damn, that sound is eerily familiar.
[Verse 1] Go on with that old cripple crow On that west wind, out past the shore Honey, make your pack light These old crippled wings, ain't working quite right [Verse 2] As much as I'm here, I'm just as much gone I'm just as much gone Stay and board your windows Just what's a coming, no one quite knows If you work in the fields don't be coming inside Just follow the gust, the cripple crow flies [Verse 3] As you now are here, we'll all soon be gone Oh we'll all soon be gone If you're dying Go and hide yourself No don't put your ashes, on my shelf No, my intentions won't make you well Best be thinking about where you're gonna dwell [Interlude] If I see you leave, I'm coming along I'll be coming along [Verse 4] Now Go on with that old cripple crow To wherever good intentions go Like the river, that meant to flow Stood still, or at most went slow [Interlude] As good as I'm here, I'll be better gone I better be gone [Verse 5] Well, bells I can't hear your ring You haunt my vision, with your swing I burnt every bridge that brought me this far And follow the future, laid by past fires [Interlude] As much I'm here, I'm just as much gone Oh I'm just as much gone [Outro] So Go on with that old crippled crow On that west wind, out past the shore
he had family that loved him in washington state---i seen him at seattles pike place market months before he passed in nashville ---bought the spit shine cd from him--the one with the hobo boot

Rest easy Nicholas
He was truly one of a kind.
No song gets my eyes welling like this one, Nicholas was a genius, and god, do I miss him.
One of the most beautiful, heart wrenching and poignant songs I've ever heard
this breaks my heart but I love it so...
This reminds me of music I'd hear far away from any major cities on AM radio. This isn't fuzzy with static like those were, to the point I couldn't hardly tell what was being sang. But damn, that sound is eerily familiar.
We love you Shannon
So awesome ❤️
[Verse 1]
Go on with that old cripple crow
On that west wind, out past the shore
Honey, make your pack light
These old crippled wings, ain't working quite right
[Verse 2]
As much as I'm here, I'm just as much gone
I'm just as much gone
Stay and board your windows
Just what's a coming, no one quite knows
If you work in the fields don't be coming inside
Just follow the gust, the cripple crow flies
[Verse 3]
As you now are here, we'll all soon be gone
Oh we'll all soon be gone
If you're dying Go and hide yourself
No don't put your ashes, on my shelf
No, my intentions won't make you well
Best be thinking about where you're gonna dwell
[Interlude]
If I see you leave, I'm coming along
I'll be coming along
[Verse 4]
Now Go on with that old cripple crow
To wherever good intentions go
Like the river, that meant to flow
Stood still, or at most went slow
[Interlude]
As good as I'm here, I'll be better gone
I better be gone
[Verse 5]
Well, bells I can't hear your ring
You haunt my vision, with your swing
I burnt every bridge that brought me this far
And follow the future, laid by past fires
[Interlude]
As much I'm here, I'm just as much gone
Oh I'm just as much gone
[Outro]
So Go on with that old crippled crow
On that west wind, out past the shore
"As much as I'm here, I'm just as much gone..."
Thank you
Really nice ❤
I wish I had his courage.
🙏❤️🙏
