Process was clear but misleading. Once I did the subtitles, then it was revealed that to download srt files, you have to upgrade. I wasted my time. I don't need a subscription as this was a one-time need. Red flag, no integrity!
You are absolutely correct and I totally agree with you. I''m very angry about the fact that it no longer downloads the mp4 file types and I WILL NOT support these other criminals that have destroyed our demands to be able to download ALL videos in mp4 formats, which is NOT a privilege . It's a right.
Bought a basic plan today, subtitles came out completely incorrect and muddled so I wasted a ton of time resubbing it - then found out you can’t download subtitles with a basic plan. It’s double the cost - $250 a year to download the SRT files. Super disappointed! I contacted them to cancel it! Definitely not free, don’t be misled by their PR!!!
Want to add to that. Anytime you want to do something new, it's going to cost you w/this software. I don't like dishonesty. I'd rather you say that cost depends on what you want to do, but every time I select a new feature, have to upgrade! Have to upgrade!
Lovely video, but it completely glosses over the fact that: Despite saying that it is a "Free" editing platform, most of what the presenter goes over will be gated off to those still on the fence when it comes to investing their hard-earned money (for example, I can't even export like 10 or so minutes of the experimental video I was working on, despite clicking on the button a dozen times and waiting for a prolonged period of time). And there is absolutely nothing wrong with this, apart from the fact it almost seems like a purposeful omission of details as to make people curious and interested only to then hit them with the "you gotta pay" button. Well, I'll sure be looking elsewhere now.

I followed the instructions, it works great, until I choose the option of downloading the file in .SRT... surprise! You have to pay for that option. I added subtitles to 2 sample videos as a test to enter a translation agency. I won't get paid for those, and I don't even know if I'm gonna get the job. Not happy about having to pay, but I've already done both, I had no time to start over with some other program. In the video it says it's free! I'm pissed off here! Hope you are enjoying my money.

I`ve got s program that creates transcription and srt file from video/audio. My main need is to put foreign subtitles. I thought of translating the subtitles from the srt generated. I understand this is much faster since you only have to review the srt... I only took one course of translation for creating subtitles but that was enough to know that to simply translate into Portuguese the srt is a poor job. There are so many adaptation rules concerning how to fit enough and just enough that the audience can read... most of the time would have to be changed as sentences are constructed differently. Iam really annoyed with automation right now. It took out of the market then type of application that I need.
GoodNight! Subtitles: Take a look at this published video. Each subtitled phrase is perfect. The black stripe behind the words and phrases is perfect. They are cut and adjusted to the size of the sentence or word. But in the VEED edition the length is one for all sentences. If I set a phrase to the optimal size, all other phrases will have the black stripe at the same size. There was a subtitle where I used a single word (law) and there was that huge black band in the subtitle, without need. Then I adjusted the black background strip to the word size ("law"), and all the other sentences were in a single size. Help me please. Each subtitle snippet must be individual. There were long videos where I adjusted the black line sentence by sentence. But when I finished, it was all in one size. A mess. I appreciate the feedback in advance. Big hug.
Interesting Thx. I use P Pro, I'd like to convert my ST to an other language ! In other words speak in English but have the ST appear in Thai, yes a bit of a challenge. I'm thinking of Google translate to voice the transcript but then could I 'copy and paste' to srt. ?
Hi! You can upload your SRT file into VEED's editor and translate it to Thai from there (or create it from scratch by auto transcribing your audio and translating it to Thai). This is text exclusive, as of yet. Hope this helps!

You need to let people know ahead of time that this is a paid service. And it's not exactly cheap either. Not sure why you wouldn't mention that!
