    The natural bamboo look so much nicer than the plastic trellis often seen in garden centres. Looks lovely Becca. Thankyou for showing us how to DIY one!

    It feels so gratifying making your own stuff instead of buying it already made - its so great using things u have around the house already to make what u need ;). That trellis is so adorable and I love that it's not perfectly aligned- theres beauty in imperfections ;)

    I just made a one of these for my smaller Hoya Australis, following along with your video. And it came out SO great, I love it!! I think that the Australis is going to be so happy for a trellis to take over, and I’m so pleased with how pretty the whole setup looks (I’m very anti-plastic, so the aesthetic is awesome) Bought more bamboo stakes today at my local nursery so I can craft a couple more. ♥️🌱🌿♥️ THANKS BECCA 😊

    You did just a fabulous job! I made it this summer with the bamboo sticks but instead of twine I used zip tie. It was the only thing that I had on hand. I do not recommend zip ties as it moves around and it is not secure. Maybe if I crossed it it would have be stronger.

    Amazing tutorial! Question for climbers what is best a trellis or a moss pole? Thanks for sharing :)

    • @BeccaDeLaPlants
      @BeccaDeLaPlants  5 лет назад

      Depends on the plant I think :) super leafy plants I think do better on a trellis. As in, plants that could trail are best on a trellis. Plants that grow all over the place upright( like a Monstera) do well on a pole.

    Hi Becca, bamboo is my favorite thing to use for trellising up my plants, I made a trellis for a couple of my Hoyas that look like a teepee, super easy and so much fun. I have some 24 inch sticks and some 36 inch sticks, I have a store called Fred Meyer that carries these, they also carry the arches in bamboo, I think those are 10 inches wide and three feet tall, I am going to find some that are smaller because I also like the look of these as well. I will send you a DM picture on IG to show you how mine look. Thanks Becca, I have always liked the look of a trellis, I think I might try making one of these as well. Have a great day I will see you soon, bye for now.

    When I was at my gardening course a weeks ago they told me that when using bamboo to trellis plant make sure that the bamboo is dried out or that you're usingt the top part of the bamboo because if it's fresh and you use the wrong side to put on the ground it will root in the plant soil and kill it. :)
    btw some advice please my Hoya Krimson Queen has been struggling since I brought it home and some of the stems have turned yellowish, it's my only struggling Hoya and I haven't even watered it or done anything to it yet, I believe she might've been getting overwatered which caused all this stress on her but I'm unsure, I did repot it just in case but one of the separate stems was yellowing and only has one leaf left so I put it in water after cleaning off the roots and it hasn't yellowed more or died yet.

    • @BeccaDeLaPlants
      @BeccaDeLaPlants  5 лет назад +2

      That’s a great tip! Thank you!
      As far as the hoyas goes, I think you did the right thing by repotting! It might have been getting overwatered for sure. And also, it could just be adjusting to a new home. Keep an eye on it! But a few yellow leaves is okay, especially when it has recently been rehomed.

    • @d.floydd
      @d.floydd 5 лет назад

      All the krimson princesses I have had always yellow a bit and lose a few leaves after I re-pot it. She will bounce back! I also think what you did sounds like the right thing to do. Most of the time when I've bought hoyas from stores they are over watered. Id say she should be back to her normal growing schedule in no time! 😂💚
