The thing I like most about this collection, is what is says about the guy's personality...sentimental, low key without a hint of flashy, stomach turning show offness..a true watch enthusiast. Speedmaster and exp 1 are very significant watches for both brands..I often think its really strange that be exp 1 doesn't get the attention it deserves...a man after my own heart....this is one of the best collections ive seen on here in terms of taste
Yes it is very nicely put together, but he sold his milestone 30th birthday present, which showed he didn't care for sentimental value. The Tag would still look right in this collection at 4 pieces.
Not just in your part of the world Archie, here in Atlanta no AD gives discounts on Speedys. Bought the 3861 for my 40th last month, no discounts, called every AD twice one week apart to see if a different rep would say differently, nope. Bought it instead at the Omega Boutique and got a black/grey Omega Nato and an additional year warranty (6 total) at the boutique for free.
I use a bank safe plus home security. I'm afraid insurance will only take retail value and then apply a hefty depreciation per year, plus a cap, a deductible and possible exclusion clauses. Also removing any watch on the wrist when visiting a high-end watch store. Also in big crowds and city centers. No Rolex when going downtown. Do have a low-cost piece among your pieces
Another cookie cutter "luxury tool watch" collection purchased over a short period of time and without a scratch or dent to speak of, phucking snooze fest 😴
Came close to buying the Explorer 1 39 but it's just too boring and plain looking. Explorer II lacks legibility. Speedmaster not going to become valuable either, there's too many of them in circulation.

??? He owns 3 mass produced pieces which are part of every second "collection". Probably you should watch less Hodinkee vids...
@@MadMan-cp6tn non bling, non attention seeking...he appreciates the quality of these pieces. Its great
@@StruanRobertson29 Who knows what he appreciates. I dont... Thats just marketing blabla my friend ;)

Hmm I didn’t think to ask the Omega boutique for an extra warranty year when I got my Seamaster.
I have replacement ins,and let the co ,replace it,take photos and serial number, place in fireproof box, place in highest air duct.
Explorer and Explorer ii in white is such a great combo 👊🏼
Sound advice on the security. Its getting rough in some parts.
I pay €134 annually on my watch insurance up to max €15K (~0.9%) in the Netherlands at home and outside.
What? Thats more than I pay for my houshold insurance in Germany. It includes steel watches without limit (!) and gold watches up to 40.000 EUR.

Don't get insurance cos it's too expensive. Instead spend 10 grand on security screens, new doors, CCTV and then get a gun...
I worry that internet connected security cameras in the house being hacked and watched by some phucking creep. Is that overly paranoid?
Not at all. That’s a good mentality to have.

Hes bought well though...not a hint of bling in sight....
Agree to disagree… No Daytona, Sub or other discount divers, no gaudy AP or pretentious complications. Good on this fella
@@ambrosefairview117 I agree....no tasteless bling here. Obviously a refined follow that doesnt crave attention. Thats to be admired
Not age well..

Yeah no Rolexes in circulation
I saw an Explorer 1 39 at a Rolex boutique about 3 years ago and it just didn’t do it for me.
