That moment when you play the game for the first time and you realise the last wave is coming from ALL directions, not just one like all the previous waves... utter panic.
The final judgement, did your 5 hours of base building and careful planning come to show a powerful and resilient base? Or has it all been wasted in a feeble attempt to delay the inevitable?
Oh my god, a huge swarm of infected are coming, THEY ARE BILLIONS! they are approaching from all sides! - The final message the scout reports to the player
Good morning. current time is 0700, the birds are chirping, its a warm 73 degrees out there. oh did we mention that we got a billion zombies heading our way?
Could we get an extended version of this song?? Not like a ten hour loop, but definitely a longer version of the buildup. Like if you paused during the buildup in game and this just loops over and over? Heck, yes.
James, my boy, Forgive me for not writing sooner. And forgive me for lying in my previous letter. The end draws near, and I fear that you may not hear from me again, so I must be candid and honest with you. They are not going to blow the bridge. Either Cape Storm's garrison will stand against the swarm, or Cape Storm will fall. There is much that the Capital authorities withhold from you. Six times has the Empire colonized Cape Storm, and six times have the Infected taken it back. The trains that you watch leave the Capital each day, filled with eager volunteers bound for "safe homes" on the "newly reclaimed frontier" -- they are being lied to. All are bound for the work camps of Cape Storm, where they toil around the clock to strengthen our defenses at the bridge. Six times, an army of Infected has crossed the bridge and consumed Cape Storm. Six times, the Empire did not blow the bridge. "It is too valuable," saith the Emperor, "we would never rebuild it." That is the truth of the Empire: infrastructure is valued over human life. Resources, too: that is why we return again and again to Cape Storm, building colony after colony -- setting feast after feast for the Infected to partake of. Quintus Crane will have his gold and oil, and the Infected will have their due, year after year. This morning, the Imperial commissar had every soldier in the garrison report to the armory for testing and calibration of our DBI collars. We all know what that means. Every officer below colonel hates making his soldiers put those things on; "should the worst happen" is the stated rationale for wearing them but everybody knows that when you're ordered to fasten that horrible contraption around your neck, it's because the worst is truly and absolutely expected to happen. No one will say how large is the approaching swarm of Infected, but "large enough that we have no real plan to stop it" is a good enough guess. Our defensive buildup reeks of total desperation: the bridgehead has become its own forest of towers and palisades and stakes, six stockade walls with gunners huddled together on towers between each layer. Civilians here have taken to calling it "the Dam." I've been assigned to the frontmost layer; based on maps I've seen of the Dam there are no gates between layers, only gaps in the palisade that I'll have to squeeze through to make it to the tower I've been assigned to hold. I expect those will be plugged behind me. There will be no retreat, no way out. James, my son, I want you to know that when they come I will be thinking of you. I'll be thinking of the times that I want to spend with you in the many years to come, until I grow old. Hope of seeing you again will guide my rifle as I try to take down as many Infected as I can. Maybe, just maybe, the Dam will not fail. But should you not hear from me again, I want you to know that up until the moment when my armor buckled and my DBI collar detonated, in my heart I was holding you close. I love you, James. Don't join the Army. - Dad

+ much much larger waves + all infected you left alive on the map + larger enemies. 😱
Yep. Good luck beating that last wave if you didn't kill the giants.
God that made me shit myself on my first run ever, luckily I had cleared the map and started spamming turrets everywhere within my main walls.
And you get your butt kicked by all the infected you didn't kill.
When you just think they hide the cardinal point and you realise your inferiority
"OH MY GOD! A huge swarm is coming! THEY ARE BILLIONS!!!"
"They're approaching from all sides."

Only way it could take 5 hours is either you’re playing 120 days, you’re pausing, or both.
Oh my god, a huge swarm of infected are coming, THEY ARE BILLIONS! they are approaching from all sides! - The final message the scout reports to the player
