The class width is only the "number of numbers" in the class when you're dealing with integers. A better way to describe the class width is as the difference of corresponding limits in consecutive classes. In this example, either 30 - 20 or 39 - 29 would give you the class width of 10 (as would 60 - 50 or 49 - 39). This definition works even when your data aren't integers (and has the added bonus of emphasizing the uniformity of the class width across all classes).
Sir it is inclusive classes right ?
question how did you got 5??/

How he found the number5?
He's probably using the 2 k ≥ n rule, where 2 to the power of k is greater or equal to n.
k is the amount of classes while n is the amount of observations.
So in this case the amount of observations is 30.
You find k by seeing which number squared by 2 is greater or equal to 30.
So 2 squared by 5 is 32 (greater than 30), which is why the number of classes for this case is 5.
So okay, how do you find out the observation exactly?
@@Inlove_with_him You count how many numbers (also known as variables) you see under 'ages of high school teachers' which in this case is 30. Also shown as n = 30, where n equals the amount of observations.
@@Kim-mp5wg any other way? Im grade 7 and we still havent that rule.
@@mathewdevera7152 If you weren’t taught this rule i would say just guess how many classes you need. But if you want to know more about this rule, then search up 2kn rule classes, on youtube, and a video by mysecretmathtutor should come up. He made me understand this rule so he might help you.

Hi from Somaliland
Why didn't you add one to the range? Shouldn't it be highest number subtracted from the lowest plus 1?
Nope
U don't add 1 to it
My 6th grade teacher would literally lay down and go to sleep and refuse to teach us and still give us test on the stuff we were EXPOSED to learn and if wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be in 7th
But why use ten ...this might get me a zero on this question 😢
HOW DID YOU FIND NUMBER 5😢😢
